worth the blackvues over viofo or similar?
Nah not 3x the price for a 1080p camera.
Stick with Viofo. Cheap and good.

Are Blackvue cameras at $700 so much better than all the others out there with equal or better specifications?
I've had this model for 4+ years now & it has never missed a beat, so I'm happy with it. They don't seem to like SanDisk cards though, but no issues with Samsung.

@[Deactivated]: Yep only issue I've had is that because I am running it as 1440p 128gb sd card fills up quickly when I went on last roadtrip
@[Deactivated]: You can always get two for the price, there is other models with rear of you need rear
@[Deactivated]: Just need two SD cards one for front and back and just power for both. Seen it done a few times. Gives you better quality for rear of needed
@[Deactivated]: It is more convenient to get a dual channel camera. This way, you only need 1 power source and 1 microSD card. The files from both cameras will be synced and you can add both into your video editing program if required to cut between the front or rear view or add one of the views as picture in picture.
I use the A129 duo.
After umming and arring and plenty of research as well as missing the big Blackvue sales with eBay coupons, ended up going Viofo, but forked out for the pricey A139 pro. Got the A139 pro 2 channel with a Hard wire kit for $440. It has the Starvis 2 sensor and seems like the only one with the updated sensor. Good reviews. Hoping the gamble works out. Almost feel weird spending that much for a chinse camera compared to spending more on a SKorean brand, but the technology seems to speak for itself.
