Weber Baby Q Premium (Q1200) $359.10 (RRP $399.00) Delivered @ Weber Australia

250

Weber is running a 10% off sale (I think for easter)
I have been eyeing this for sometime and this seems to be the lowest in a while
Seems like a great portable BBQ specially when you go camping
You also can get the standard baby Q (Q1000) but this has the push button ignition, lid thermometer, and high lid

  • Around the same price I bought my Q2000 from TGG eBay last year, didn't use it until last week XD

    • it's not comparable, lower lid, prezo ignition & no temp gauge

      • Understand that, depends on what you want to cook.

  • +2

Same price through ebay, discount at checkout, if you have coupons etc to use, might be better for some.

  • +2

    Perfect roast chooks, every time.

  • +1

remember the high lid versions are only available from weber & they are worth getting, weber's warranty & customer service is excellent

  • how do people find the size? the product photos show lots of mini chicken wings and baby weiners on a skewer - do you feel like it's adequate for 4 adults, 6 at a stretch for a normal meal?

    • Nope. Get a bigger one.

    • I think the baby Q is recommended for 2 adults but think you will be ok for a family.of 4
If you want to cook for proper 4 or 6 adults you should look at the Weber Q or a family Q

    • Get Q 2200

      Still no discount on cart.

It fits a large chook fine. Two average chooks side by side. If I want to do a chook and veggies at the same time, it's a squeeze. You can get quite a lot done on the surface though.

For larger meals, I feel almost like I'd be better off with a second of these rather than a bigger model alone - that way I can work two temps at once. I really wouldn't mind a larger one in addition to this though, but I think I'd probably still be using the Baby most of the time (for a family of three).

We cook on this three to four times a week. We pretty much don't cook meat inside the house at all anymore, and frequently do veggies on the Weber also. If ever I cook eggs, I also prefer to do them on the Weber!

  • I have recently been shopping around for a bbq. I was going to go with Weber Q Premium (Q2200) but after doing some research, have found Ziggy Twin to be better. Comparison: https://ultimatebackyard.com.au/weber-vs-ziggy/

    Ziggy Twin is better because:
    • It has 2 burners so more control. Say 1 side for veggies and the other side for meat, can set different temperature for each side. On Weber Q there is only 1 burner
    • Ziggy Twin has slightly more cooking surface
    • Ziggy Twin grills are dishwasher safe. Weber Q does not recommend to put grills in dishwasher
    • Ziggy Twin has 7 year warranty. Weber Q some parts is 5 and others 2 years

Anyone did similar research? Or have feedback on Weber versus another brand?

    • +1

Ziggy might be good, but it doesn't say Weber on it.

    • The Ziggy Twin is bigger than this, and competes with the q2000 range I believe.
This one competes with the Ziggy Classic.

I was looking at these, but I want it for a semi-permanent fixture on the caravan, with a quick connect fitting etc. Unfortunately new laws make these models non-compliant, and I'd have to go the Ziggy Nomad, which charges a premium for the Flame Failure technology safety feature. I don't think there is a small Weber that has it. Currently waiting/hoping for a sale on the Nomad, and making do with the old Coleman until then.

    • have owned the ziggy twin & weber Q2200 the weber is built better & would be my choice the only thing I prefer with the ziggy is it's 2 burners so you can have more control, also warranty & customer service of weber v BBG is night & day weber will look after you

  • All Weber Q range is discounted.. is 10% the best price recently??

    • All Weber Q range

Weber Q store edition, they don't normally have discount.

  • +2

Never tried ziggy but been using the baby q for 5 years now.
It has spoiled us to the point that we don’t enjoy eating out anymore.

This thing induces taste in whatever (well seasoned) you put on with an ever so slight smoky profile.
I am looking for an excuse to buy a bigger one these days.

  • Wondering if you can get the extra $20 voucher if bought from eBay

    https://pages.ebay.com.au/homeandgarden20march2023/

Weber store on the list, even it said BBQ Galore but the link direct to Weber store.

  • i live in apartment and my balcony is facing west. In summer it's stupidly hot. How safe it is to leave the LPG gastank out there?

    • I'd imagine it'd be okay as 4wd and campers have them in full sun many times. But who knows. I'd tuck it away regardless.

  • Does anyone know if we are going to get the other colour kids anytime from overseas? Yellows, red, blues, greens etc?

    • I dont think so. I like the red.

      • Hmm, I'm thinking to buy and paint a different colour with heat proof paint. But warranty would be gone I'd imagine?

        • +1

Good luck with that. Even with heat proof paint it will end up flaking off over time. Fine if you don’t mind keeping it maintained.

  • Thanks OZB!

    I b(r)ought the Q3200 ;)

  • Is it true that the Weber Q series (Q2000 to be specific) can be converted to natural gas? If so, how? Is it worth it? Peeps who has done it and who know how, please kindly spread your knowledge of how to (links be great) and experiences of doing it before and after. Thanks.

  • The 1200 is the way to go! Has a higher lid/roof, thermometer, and can do roasts convection style ang uses bugger all gas. Have had mine for 6 or 7 years now. I have the red lid which has kinda faded now due to bat shit eating at it during summer times.
Get a cover for it, for $12 on fleabay.

It also has an electric igniter.
