Nice deal mate! Good price if you want this Beige colour, however for anyone wanting other colours:

BikeForce Clarkson have Black, Blue, Pink, Black mini (also Beige) for $215.
JB-Hifi are happy to price match this (I'd called recently to check).

If you have JB Commercial though, it's available through there too for $209.37.

Pretty happy with mine that I just bought recently, thanks for sharing this mate!

I have a pair of these - paid $244 a year ago, so this is a good price.

I use them on the bike for my morning ride and find them very good. There is much less wind noise than my other headphones and I can still hear what's happening around me. They won't give you fantastic thumping sound but you would not be expecting that on a bike if you want to also hear that truck coming.

Just don't lose the charging cable. It's unique and the replacement ain't cheap.

I have the Titanium and Aeropex, and I thought they were Micro-USB connector ?

      • +2

No. It's a magnetic cable to give the higher IP rating.

err….i don't like proprietary connectors like that,
but i guess they justified a 'good enough' reason to do that!

          • +1

@whyisave: There's never a good enough reason for proprietary. You can waterproof usb-c enclosures.

            • @gakko: I think pogo in this instance is much better option than usbC.

I have the Aftershock Aeropex which I'm happy with but I'd buy these if I had to replace them. https://www.meeaudio.com/AirHooks/

    are these bone-conduction ?

I have bought a couple of alleged 'bone-conduction' earphones from AliEx,
only to be disappointed by them, as they were only miniature speakers
    and not at all bone-conducting.

    • -1

Same with this. People sit next to you on the bus can still hear the music.
I dont know why. We dont share bones. So why the leaks?

    • I bought a couple of these cheapos for some $3-$5 each, and am generally very happy with them. Yeah, I doubt they truly are bone conducting, and—yes—I need to boost their volume with an app so I can hear them, but they're perfect for what I wanted them: listen to podcasts and news, while still being able to hear people or cars around me (which earbuds and headphones prevent us from).

      • My "cheapos" were AU$30+ and I wasn't happy with them,
knowing they were NOT bone-conduction and just miniature speakers directed at the ear.

Furthermore, the BT connection would not 'pair' as quickly,
so I barely used these and now,
I have suspicion of any earphones claiming to be bone-conducting, other than AfterShokz.

No idea if the price is good, but Shokz are the best (in terms of comfort and convenience) headphones I have ever owned.

I've tried a lot of headphones over the years.

Worth mentioning that they come in two sizes- I have found this makes a real difference (I use the small size, the large size flops around annoyingly).

    • +1

      I don't think so man-

Air Hooks utilize directional speakers to beam audio directly into your ears without covering your ear canals or using bone conduction transducers

Edit: sorry this was on reply to whyisave

Haha, confused me for a moment there.

I have these and use them a lot. I listen to a lot of audiobooks and music. I wear when walking and when exercising without issue. The sound quality is perfectly fine for typical use, but don't expect perfect sound. Also, don't use them for gaming, they have the typical bluetooth-audio lag and no "gaming mode" to reduce that. I just tried some streamed video (Disney+) on iPhone, and the video/audio sync was okay. Lip movements matched speech.

Games are definitely no good. Audiobooks, music, streamed video is okay.

If I lost these headphones, I'd buy another set.

get the openswim. you lose bluetooth, but you can use them in the pool

    • +6

These are Bluetooth headphones that connect to your devices. The openswim are just mp3 players.

      Completely different devices imo

    • Creative Outlier Free Pro is Bluetooth and MP3 player with 8GB memory and you can swim with them https://au.creative.com/p/headphones-headsets/creative-outli…

I have not tried them, but they may be my next ones.

      • Form factor looks almost identical. If reviews are mostly positive then it seems like a good upgrade from openswim, as long as cost is comparable .
Edit: $200 aud is a good price. Note that you have to use a mic plug and be extra careful in the water with them

  • These give me a massive headache from the pressure.

    • are you that tiktok hydrocephalus kid?

    • Turn it down bro

  • How does this compare to aeropex?

I use mine all the time

  • +1

I have had 2 pairs Aftershoks, Titanium and Aeropex. The reality is that sound wise they do not compare to other earphones like the Shure se215 which are similar price, but they are very practical. The Aeropex I wear them all the time, I even forget that I am wearing them. It is like you a listening to external pair of speakers. In the office, they are great because you can still be sociable. When you go for walks or bike rides, you can still hear the birds sing! No very good around noisy places. Also, the Mic for calls is not very good.

I will not have any problem recommend them, after I have explained their limitations.

Creative has released recently similar earphones. https://au.creative.com/p/headphones-headsets/creative-outli… The Pro has more features than the OpenrunPro like built in memory and you swim with them.

  • I had a pair which was returned due to rattling defect which appears to be common. Still bought another pair as I wear them for my bike commute an hour everyday. Su much better than in ears - can still listen to audiobooks whilst maintaining situational awareness of traffic

    • How is their performance in traffic? Specifically, does traffic noise interfere with the performance of the unit?

      • Do you mean can you still hear traffic? If so yes, that's kind of the point.

How are these compared to air pods pro???

    • +3

About the same as a tomato compares to a pineapple.

      • Jokes aside I meant in comparison to air pods pro pass through mode (jogging, gym) and having things in your ears….

    • +1

For calls and quality of sound Air Pods are far better. As Joker042 said you are comparing two different animals. But for walking in any environment, bike rides, or anywhere where you need what is happening around you, these are better.

    • +1

You really need to test bone-conduction earphones for yourself,
and be amaze how you actually 'hear' the music through your bones,
      and not your ear holes.

That's their target market, ie. for people to be still be able to 'hear' other sounds
through their ear holes (eg. announcements at train stations or airports, traffic noises, etc.),
while you've still got the bone-conduction earphones on.

So, you cannot compare them to Air Pods or any traditional in-ear ear-phones.

  • beige oos

  • Some JB's have the OpenRun/Pro for demo, saw them at The Galleries a couple months back.

My experience with OpenRun mini have been similar to yak and OMan's.

  • Bought the Openrun pro mini. Great for running. I can still hear traffic and other path users. Which is handy. I can hear the bells of people on bikes.

  • Thanks, good deal. I have been waiting for these to go on sale for a long time. As others have said they are great for running and riding when you want to keep some situational awareness. Highly recommend.

    • +1

see link above for creative version that combines swim model and run model

  • My order was cancelled, out of stock and oversold.

    Shokz short squeeze when?

    • Yeah - mine was cancelled too.

    • These are on sale basically everywhere again.
JB, etc. Only the 229 price but not too shabby
