Aliexpress will be far cheaper than booking this, r/rep on Reddit has great providers available

      • i can't find the fake rolex, LV, gucci, etc…

        • taobao.com, jd.com

          good luck

        • LV, gucci

Real or fake. Tacky comes to mind. Save your money.

    • bangkok better

    • You know that China doesn't sell stuff on the street, right?

Welcome to the new world economy. Everything is sold online. You will get to China and you will find nothing to buy.

    • AP Plaza in Shanghai

    • The factory all shipped to vietname and cambodia, you missed the memo.

  • China Southern has the worst onboard food…
    Good prices though.

  • Does anyone know how China southern compares to Air China? I've flown china southern in 2017 and was impressed for the price, looking to book a trip to china for may but air china is a lot cheaper / better flight times from what i've found so far.

Pre 2019 I just treat all airline from China as budget airline, with the only catch you have to transit at their hub. Still remember my multi stop Sydney-Shanghai-Frankfurt-Shanghai-Osaka-Shanghai-Sydney. All for under 1.5K. We bring our own food on broad.

In the post Wuhan virus time They are just rip offs. Price gouging, bad food, bad seats… nah thanks

Man you are really just full of shit. Shame on you. With the family name Wong I wonder where are you from actually (Let me guess, a hater from the island called Hongkong?). You are disgusting man, full of discrimination shit by attacking a country and people from there.

So where your loyalty goes? If you are so loyal to China and CCP, what are you doing in Australia? Ah yes like many mainlander big noise with patriotic words but the honest soul and body tell you to leave the country. You are just as pathetic as your comment!

You need to check your eyes, my opinion was against a brutal regime, its supporter and everything it stands for not (all the) people form there.

          • +2

@syswong: Hi bro, here, besides you, no one else is telling others to 'leave this country.' By so forcefully demanding people with different views to leave, how are you any different from CCP then?

            • +1

@anjel: The CCP is criminals again human rights. Why should we let them and their supporters stay here?

Our democracy is not a free for all system (yes and the pro China thugs thinks its is and like to abuse that), there are limitations……

    • I have flown with both, but of course not since Covid started. I flew China Southern to Canada, with an overnight stopover in Guangzhou, hotel, buffet breakfast and transport to/from airport provided by the airline. As I hadn't been to Gunagzhou before I found it interesting to get a snapshot of downtown. The food onboard was pretty good, but when I was asked "chicken or beef", I got the other one! Such is life. There is a terrific Priority Pass lounge at CAN airport.

In 2019 I flew with Air China to Urumqi (of course via Beijing). For some reason I remember the return fare was $747! (But the plane wasn't 747). Frankly there was nothing wrong with this, but I got the impression the planes were much older. After booking the flights ex Brisbane we were informed that on return we would have to fly via Sydney as they were going to stop flying into Brisbane. So we had to fly a domestic leg with a choice of Qantas or Virgin. We managed to get them to throw in a complimentary stopover in Beijing for a few days so no complaints overall.

So I think that overall I preferred China Southern, but there was nothing to complain about with Air China either.

    Quite tempting!

  • The wait times for Visas are really long so this likely explains the cheap flights.

    • Indeed, get your Visas done before booking

      • Dont they ask for flight bookings as evidence before you can get your visa? I am still waiting on the appointment and have not booked any flights yet. Do the flights even have to match the dates you write down into the form?

        • I just submitted mine by post (tourist visa) I just left those blank on the form.

I booked my AL for May 1st so hopefully it doesn't take long.

I don't want to visit China as food problem. Fake eggs, cooking oil from drainage, meat from wild animals… What can I eat there?

    • +8

As you don't want to go there, why are you concerning yourself?

      • It's up to you. I just don't want to go there. Nature is beautiful anywhere in the world.

    • Your words?
      Your sheet?
      Stereotype soup?

  • Is it just me? Is anyone able to see any of the listed flights for the price on a Melbourne <> Guangzhou? None of the listed travel periods are showing for me.

The greatest divide and lack of understanding between two civilizations or countries comes from the lack of people-to-people exchanges and firsthand travel experiences. This is a two-way street; Chinese people also have a fragmented understanding of Australia, and vice versa. It is unfortunate because it reduces many opportunities for economic and cultural exchanges, and keeps everyone living in their own information bubble. When coupled with deliberate media bias, this creates even greater barriers. However, I can confidently say that anyone who wants to learn about China is welcome to do so, and anyone who wants to hate is also free to do so. But as someone with a Chinese background, I welcome anyone who wants to understand. Sometimes, the media is shameless and lacks professional ethics to the extent that unverified information can be used as a basis for argument. If I say that the situation in Xinjiang is a farce created by fabricated news, it may be difficult for friends who live in this culture to understand, but you just need to go see it by yourself, go walk around and have some fun. There is a Chinese saying, 'If you want to frame someone, any charge will do.' Looking at things with bias will always lead to deviation. I welcome any rational and objective discussions. The above is my personal opinion, and I do not expect my personal comments to bring about much change, but as a human being, I cannot sit idly by. Ultimately, I am filled with love for the world and all its peoples, and I respect and understand differences.

Good deal for spies to fly home and give intellectual property to the motherland or those waiting to escape the country

China is ok when they don't buy up all your industries and real estate

Let's hope no Covid strains come back

    • Mr Delta aka India

  • silly question, if transit required (lets say KL or Sin or Guangzhou), do I get free accommodation by the airline Or I need to pay it myself?

    • Not KL or Singapore. China Southern will in Guangzhou, so long as it is regarded as an enforced stopover, i.e. there is no better connection.

  • Hey, does anyone know COVID requirement when boarding a china air even though it's a layover ? Do I still need negative COVID test ?
