      All time low.

Was $85 back in October 2022

      • +1

Huh, dunno why camel^3 is reporting it as the best price then. Oh well.

        • +2

Guess Camel sometimes misses a bargain

        • +1

Camel doesn't track things like lightning deal prices or where a coupon is used to drop the price. Unfortunately

Finally pulled the trigger and got one. My first SSD.

    • +9

Dang, not even something small like a 128gb ssd? You're behind big time.

      • +3

        My first was a vertex 60gb 😅

        • +4

Lucky bugger, mine was SanDisk 32gb

    • +3

      My first SSD.

      Can't believe it 🤣

    • Congratulations!

    • Great SSD have used one in an old laptop. I just got my first M.2 SSD in a Lenovo 720q.

    • +2

Prepare to have you mind blown, and this drive isn’t even as quick if you compare it to m.2 nvme drive.

Ensure to make this your boot drive. Booting goes from a 5 minute ordeal to a 20 second blink.

    • +3

How have you survived this long with out one???

These are really good drives. They are like one of my absolute go to's when I need to upgrade a machine that still has a HDD (shudder, I know). An SSD upgrade is still one of the single best improvements that can be made to an older PC to make it feel new and fresh, hands down & this drive, for the money, is an excellent choice.

  • Really good drives. I got two of these. Still working as expected with decent speed and durability.

Crucial piece of equipment for all computers

    • Crucial only with MX500. Not sure about the rest.

      • +3

Crucial Ram and M.2 are ok for me

        • crucial is a very decent brand Bii im in the same brand

  • Tell me please how many seconds?

Give your PS4 a breath of life.

  • Used this for the Fusion Drive that kaput itself and gave the iMac a new life.

  • 2tb variant at Harris Technology on eBay @ $188 using "PLUSSAV10" code.

Why? The quality of these has gone down significantly over the last couple years, and you can get an nvme for less, or little extra with dram, that is 5x faster.

Not the same brand/model but still 2TB for $135.99 if anyone is looking for it

  • How can I confirm if this will work for my Dell Inspiron 15R SE 7520? My existing HDD is making noise and windows loading freezes.

    Thanks

    • +1

      It's SATA, it will work.

      • Looks like the new HDD didn't do the trick on my old laptop. Can I still return it?

        I have the original packaging.

        • Looks like the new HDD didn't do the trick on my old laptop. Can I still return it?

It is SATA just like your HDD, no way it didn't work, did you reinstall your system?

          • @superforever: I did reinstall windows. Feels like the dell has given up after 12 years. There is a loud noise when it tries loading. I thought it was the hard drive and bought this. The windows installation is all good but then when it restarts the hard drive activity turns off. I am inclined towards keeping the SSD with a case to use it as external.

In my forum post - a suggestion to try chrome os. Will give it a shot.

            • @djsydney: In that case the noise may came from your laptop CPU fan and overheating caused the shut down.

              • @superforever: I did open up and cleaned the fan. Applied thermal paste as well. I think it's time 😭

                • @djsydney: I ended up installing chrome os flex. And it works great and serves my purpose.

Showing $99 for me, assume I’ve missed the boat.

  • If i split an ssd into multiple petitions and the ssd corrupts. Will this affect all petitions? Or will it only create a single bad petition like hdd

    • "partition"

  • Ive got a nuc with space for a 2nd 2.5 drive as long as its under 9.5mm in z-height.

    The listing has the follwing:

    Item Dimensions L x W x H ‎10.3 x 0.7 x 7 centimetres

I cant see it being 7cm in height, surely that is 7mm?

    • The W and H are swapped around

      Should be 0.7cm H.

The Crucial MX500 is a standard 2.5" Drive, so it should fit in your NUC.

      • That makes a lot more sense, just wanted a sanity check from someone, thanks for taking the time to reply
