  • OOS

    • showing in-stock for me. maybe Bing Lee doesn’t deliver to certain areas?

      • Ahh right I'm in SA

        • I can buy the S7 Ultra from Bing Lee website but not ebay :(

  • +1

    New S8 coming!

    • Coming? Its already here.

      • Interestingly BingLee has "AVAILABLE TO ORDER" label on those products, and has "IN STOCK" on others.

  • Excludes: PO Box, Adelaide Metro, NSW Regional, Northern Territory, Perth Metro, QLD Far North, QLD Regional, QLD South East, SA Regional, Tasmania, VIC Regional, WA Regional, WA Remote

  • Oww i was wanting the s8 pro now this price is really good.

  • +5

These are getting so expensive. Wasn't roborock supposed to be mid budget brand?

    • Its trade tactic. Start cheap to fund your r&d or see how your advanced competitor died (think Dyson robovac) then buy their tech :)

    • +5

      Roborock s10 .. or a new car?

      • +3

        same thing. Both EVs

      • +3

If you buy a car, you drive, if you buy S10 your pets get a chance to drive ;)

      • New car won't even fit through the front door, let alone clean your floors.

        S10 for sure!

      • Both as you can put it in footwell and have it keep the carpet of your new vehicle nice and clean

    • To be fair, this model is rated extremely highly. They're adding in significant new features with the mopping functions/auto clean and refill water, so the increase in cost is inevitable.

  • Great price, bought one. Thanks OP.

    • Deal starts tomorrow?

      • I literally just picked mine up from Bing Lee.

  • +3

Amazing price and amazing vacuum. Life changer tbh

    • -1

      In what way?

      • +3

        in the way of cleaning

        • -1

So any vacuum cleaner can be game changer then.

    LAVA DRYING MODULE

Finally, the floor can be lava.

    • We just need it to announce 'The floor is lava' when it is turned on.

Im in the market for a vacuum. Reviews seem decent. Can someone who has one help with:

    • Pet Hair? Will my Samoyed's hair be the victor in this battle?
    • Assuming it self empties, but it seems to have vacuum bags required.
    • Anything I should be wary of?
    • +4

      1) does fine with my cocker spaniel's hair, black & curly. Every few weeks I pull the drum roller out and cut the hair away from each end, it seems to congregate on each end of the roller.
      2) only self empties if you have the dock, you dont need to use bags if you dont want, just a bit cleaner.

If you dont have the dock the vacuum doesnt empty itself mid vacuum if it fills up, it just keeps going and doesnt suck anything up after that but finishes its program. If you have the dock it will pause and go back and empty itself mid vac, and then continue on from where it was.

Had mine for about 3 months and it recently got confused when I added an extra couch and moved some furniture around, it started doing a new map outside the current house map and was getting very confused. Anyway I restored the auto saved map from a month earlier and its fine again, thats the only issue ive had so far.

      • Brilliant - thank you!

  • +1

I have some other cheap brand and wonder how these more expensive ones handle. Like mine goes left to right down a hallway, instead of in long rows or mine has radar and LiDAR but still gets stuck on the leg of my standing desk. It also sucks at cleaning along walls, even though it knows where they are, and just bumps into them over and over instead of gliding along the edge, so all the stuff collects against the wall because the little arm/brush never goes where it’s supposed too.
But mine was also only $400..

  • Still have my s5, still going strong

    • ditto. Both of mines still are quite fine.

  • +2

Roborock S5 that I have keeps impressing. works fine!. Why would I want something almost four times as expensive?

    • bragging rights

    • Was kinda thinking the same thing. What real world benefit would I get from this newer model. Still not sure….and even then, I'd have to ask myself if its worth 4x the price.

EDIT: There seems to be some nice to have functions as per this image on the product listing, but still cant justify the high cost for them with this model. Maybe when it hits the $1K mark.

    • I'm also on an older model, which I picked up for $500 back before covid Tax. It does a pretty good job and I run it everyday. I have a mop function though its the smart one so Its all little things that I prob wont use.

  • Any places to buy discounted eBay GC better than ShopBack’s 2.5%?

    • 3% if you're a HCF member via HCF Thanks

  • Thanks OP, bought one

  • Would one purchase the Dreame L10S Ultra or this if they are both similarly priced?

    • Vacuum wars on YouTube recently did a comparison.

      The roborock won.

      • Vacuum wars never mentioned that roborock hard to clean while dreame have detachable base, s7 drying system is an afterthought, aslo you need to keep replacing the base brush plus the mop.

But if you don't bother by that yeh roborock wins.

  • Do these work well for hard wood floors with pet hair?

    • yes, very well.

  • With the dock, do you have to use their bags? Any reusable options? Can it empty into the plastic bin directly, or will dust just puff out all over the place?

    • +1

dont have to use bags, a bit cleaner when you empty the dock into the bin if you have bags. Its like emptying the dyson stick cannister into the big bin after youve used it.

      • dyson stick cannister into the big bin

which is fine, as long as wet or sticky stuff isn't sucked in

  • Hi Guys, this one or ECOVACS DEEBOT X1 OMNI ??

I got vinyl floor, and moping is very important, Roborock have single moping pad which vibrates while Ecovacs have two circular moping pads.

any help or insight will be appriciated.

    • +2

The Deebot doesn't lift the mopping pads up when going over carpet like the Roborock S7 does. I watched a fair few comparisons and I believe the mopping on the Deebot might have a very slight advantage, however for me personally having to add\remove mopping pads when I want to vacuum or mop defeats the purpose, you want something as automated as possible. Only having to fill up the water or change the bin once a month. This is why the Roborock would easily win out for me.

      • Thanks Mate,
Yeah I note that feature, luckly I do not have any carpet in house (only kitchen mats, which I am ok to put away at night). Was trying to find some more comparisioin on Moping fetures but not getting much info.
I thought having circular peds may be good compare to single pad. I have never used robo vacs before.

    • +1

From what I've read they do a comparable job, with the Roborock being slightly better. Biggest difference is the Roborock can raise the mop pad, travel over carpet, and then lower to mop again, if this is a feature you're after (i.e. to traverse a carpeted bedroom to clean a tiled ensuite).

    • +3

This one by a big margin, expecially how ecovacs navigation are garbage.

The true competitor of s7max v is dreame l10s ultra

  • I have a Xiaomi Mi Robot Vacuum Cleaner from 2017, haven't been keeping up with these at all, just wondering what more modern or expensive robot vacuum cleaners offer these days (if you don't care about the mop)? Genuine question, not having a go at the price.

    • +1

Close to half the price is the dock, which empties the vacuum and washes the mop (and does a good job of it too).

The vacuum genuinely does a good job, and it navigates well. The only criticism is the app is still a little clunky, you need to remap if you make significant changes and it isn't as intuitive as it could be. I don't have the patience for it

  • Is it worth paying extra for S8 ? Is there much of a difference between them ?

    • +2

I don't think S8 is worth an upgrade.
The main differences are dryer and the dual bursh in S8:
      Dryer is not necessary really
The old bursh is alrady doing the good job

I have done a lot of research on different ultra robots, and finally bought S7 MaxV Ultra

With respect to pricing here, S7 MaxV is obviously the better option

  • Does anyone know if the warranty period is 1 year or 2 years?

    • +1

your consumer rights would apply after 2 years, especially considering the price. it’s a grey area, as per the accc

Warranties against defects usually apply for a set amount of time. After the warranty expires, the consumer guarantee of acceptable quality usually still applies. This means that if there’s a problem with a product, the consumer likely still has a right to a repair, refund or replacement, even after the warranty period.

the definition for acceptable quality is defined here. you can definitely argue that a $2k vacuum should last 2 years plus.

      • +1

        Thanks mate

  • +1

damn, that’s a really good price. i bought the vacuum and the dock separately mid last year for $2160 ($1200 for the vacuum, $960 for the dock). it’s been amazing. the s8 upgrades are nice, the dual brushes and the mop drying, but they’re not worth upgrading for. maybe the s9.

  • FYI if anyone going oversea (SEA countries), you might as well want to check out the price there for the new S8 Pro Ultra.

    E.g. https://roborockvietnam.vn/robot-hut-bui-lau-nha-roborock-s8… - this is about $1,750 AUD.

    • Add $1000 for Australian tax

      • Why?

  • Coupon code SAVA8 is not working and showing me 1999$

  • Imagine going back 20 years and telling anyone that vacuum cleaners would cost $1800, and that this would be considered a bargain.
What a time to be alive!

    • +9

If you told them the vacuum cleaner would vacuum and mop the house while you're sitting on the beach with a beer in your hand watching the kids play, I don't think they'd object so much…

  • +3

Got JBHifi to price match it for $1999. Saves on the shipping cost.

    • You can c&c, costs nothing.

    • +1

But can't get the free drying module, JB isn't a participating retailer…

      • Will give it a try. I looked at the page to redeem the lava module. Seems you can select other retailers from the drop down and specify the retailer. Will update on how I go

    • Did you do this online? Can you share you receipt for price matching?

      • Yes used the online chat feature and showed them the Bing Lee link. They immediately price matched it. They gave me a link to a cart with the discounted price. Going to collect it today.
Will post the receipt after collection. Unfortunately can't find anything that shows the discounted price

      • +2

Adding the receipt. Also used the receipt to claim the bonus Lava Drying module from Roborock. It has been accepted. So, I think I should get it.

        https://snipboard.io/cHi58Q.jpg

        • Nice to know dryer was accepted. Thanks.

        • Did you get the Lava?

  • I cannot even pay for shipping to Tasmania? What kind of a deal is this?

@BingLee not happy about your limited shipping destinations!

    • Can't ship to WA either. All 3 areas are excluded, Perth Metro, WA Regional and WA remote.

Actually Vic regional, NSW regional, Qld regional excluded too, and these are all mainland amd notbtaht far removed

  • that's one expensive vacuum

  • OOS :(

  • On Ebay it is

  • OH NOOOOOOO>>>>>>

  • when is gonna be re-stock.

  • I was sad I missed out, then I realised it didn't ship to me anyway. Hopefully this means they'll finally be coming down in price.

    • I just cancelled my order, have a look and you might get lucky.

      • haha cheers, but I reckon I might wait until $1,600 before pulling the trigger. Hopefully the S8's will push the price down further.

      • Why did you cancel your order?

        • Ordered one delivered, realised I could pick up, ordered another for pickup, cancelled first order.

  • What are the big reasons to go the S7 MaxV over the Q7 Max? For for $699, the Q7 Max looks like a great bargain compared to the S7 MaxV.

  • What are people using as the receipt for submitting the claim for the Lava drying module if you bought from Ebay Bing Lee?
