    It’s finally happening

7900 XTX Price in China dropped heavily , still at least 100 au to go, based on recent deals in China, and HongKong.

      • +9

I guess because these cards are manufactured in and sourced from China.

  • +6

What's wrong with centercom? I haven't had any issues with them

    • +1

Agreed! I bought stuff from Centrocom on at least 5 different occassions, never had a problem, every item was delivered within few days.

      • +2

For "regular" buying, they're okay. But Centrecom don't like OzBargain or isn't OzBargain friendly.

When they have a sale and it ends up getting OzBargain-ed… if there's too many people buying, they typically kill it (because they're not here to make a loss lol).

Right at the bottom of their page, you will notice a line "Centre Com reserves the right to not make a loss."

They inserted this line after getting OzBargain-ed a few times.

Bottom of every page: "Centre Com reserves the right to not make a loss"
Translation 1: "If we fark up the price, we will not honour the price, hold your money and then stuff around before refunding it"
Translation 2: "Our stock availability is unreliable. When we don't have it in stock for the special price, we will gladly sell it to you one day later for a higher price"

Yeah I honestly don't like to buy from them unless it's me going to their store and buying in person. But even buying in person, you still need to be careful. They don't even bother to tell you the price as a lot of the items are behind their counter.

Their website is also a bit dodgy. Like their online price might not be the same as their in-store price, which can be more expensive or full priced.

Last time I made the mistake of buying a mouse, and thinking it was on sale when a certain branch didn't have it on sale as the others. Ended up paying double which kinda annoyed me. But I liked the mouse and needed a replacement (old mouse died so needed one ASAP) so bought it.

        Recent update from Blitzfx

I was buying some stuff in-store the other day and asked them about why they keep cancelling orders. Found out their back-end is complete garbage.
It's possible for there to be, lets say 5 in stock, and it would allow infinite amount of online orders to go through because it doesn't update in real-time, or fast enough.

It's actually best if you go in-store to buy it because, and I suspect, it's possible for you to buy and receive the card in-person ahead of an online order that was placed first

        • Yep this is not at all out of the ordinary, I worked for a retail company magnitudes bigger than these guys and this type of thing happened all the time … Not as bad as this where it allows infinite but yeh if you have flat files that update stock using middle ware it's entirety possible that you can get over orders before they are tagged as out of stock so for a small operator this is probably even worse if they have some crappy or ancient back end ….

"If we fark up the price, we will not honour the price, hold your money and then stuff around before refunding it"

This happened to a friend of mine. He basically had to chase them up to get his own refund for a hard drive.

    • I got my aorus master 4080 for 1699 off them a few weeks ago! There cheap and always have very good flash sales. I’m thankful they have come to Sydney now haha.

  • +5

    Taichi now $1649 as well

    ASRock front running as usual

    • Thank you! This is the one I've been waiting for. Now to sell my used Asus 7900xtx

      • +3

So you're selling a 7900XTX to buy another 7900XTX but a different brand?

        • I got my original one when they first came out since Australia didn't get the Taichi at launch. So I've just been waiting for a decent price drop on the Taichi as most have been around $2,000. It's mostly just an aesthetic thing for my rig

          • @OneEyedSwish: What are you going to do with the other card?

            • @HandsomeMonkey: When the new card arrives I'll put the old one up on marketplace or gumtree probably. Still got my Umart invoice for it too

              • @OneEyedSwish: Are you in Melbourne?

                • @terroz: Brisbane. So hoping there is no issues with the new card since there's no local centrecom 😅

              • @OneEyedSwish: I guess you'll lose some money selling it and also going to all the troubles dealing with buyers Gumtree and Facebook?

    • Reckon I'd grab that one instead as bigger cooler is better

  • how's the price, thinking about 1089 for 4070ti or 1549 for 7900xtx, which will be better?

    • Depends on usage.

    • +5

If you're looking at pure FPS per dollar then the 4070Ti is probably better bang for the buck. If you're looking for Ray tracing, then again maybe the 4070Ti.

If you're looking for a card that will last longer in regards to graphics increases in games, then probably the 7900 XTX. If you're looking for just pure grunt of FPS power, then the 7900 XTX.

It also probably matters what you're going to run it with, if your CPU isn't comparable to the power of the 7900 XTX, then it might be best to get the 4070 Ti.

Other things to consider. What resolution are you going to be using 1440p? 4k? 4070Ti is more than enough for 1080P/1440P, but if you wanna max everything and smash out FPS at 4k, then probably the 7900 XTX. The 7900 XTX seems to be pretty power hungry too.

      • -6

4070ti is as fast as 6800xt, yawn

        • Nice hot take there champ

          • +1

            @Budju: The 7900XTX is between a 4080 and 4090 for raster.
4070Ti's 12 gb of ram is not even very near future proof (look at the ram issue with 'The last of us'), better off with 4080 16gb on sale if you want team green. Nvidia need to up the ram on their mid tier cards seriously.

    • +1

The 4070ti wont age well. Its limited with only 12gb. Xtx is 24gb and also a fair bit more powerful. I'd definitely go the xtx imo. Fsr isnt as good as dlss in most games though which is bit turn off lol but it will improve over time

  • I need to pay an additional $250 for the 1000W PSU required for this thing.

Or will my EVGA SuperNova G3 750W Gold be OK? :(

    • +1

      It will be fine.

    • depends on your other parts, like CPU, if it is intel 12th/13th gen, then you may need to get bigger PSU as Intel CPU and AMD GPU are all power demanding. 750w should be fine if you use AMD 7000 without x and NV 4080 or below, as 4080 consumed less than 300w, and AMD 7700 for example, 65-100w.

    • The Corsair RM1000e is 25% off and seems to be pretty well regarded. https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/aw/d/B0B82D1D2Z

I ordered it yesterday for a 3090 though am a bit worried of a few mentions of the most recent Corsair PSUs having unusually loud fans.

  • +1

    Why does this need 1000w?

    • Because this particular card draws almost as much power as the 4090.

    • +1

no from most other forum , ppl been using 850 psu , unless u got 13900 too

    • +1

it doesnt, they just have to back themselves incase someone insists on using it on an 80 plus white psu
people have used 4090 on 750 watt platinum psus fine

      • it will be fine, but your PSU will be always on 80% or more, which is very dangerous for the PSU life and less power efficiency. Normally, the best ratio is 50-60% of the power to save you money and produce less heat.

        • majority of usage is idle for most peope anyway, and efficiency, temperatures and noise are often model specific

          • @Pugkin: Very smart running potato PSU's on high end graphics cards.
What's next wooden wheels for Tesla's?!
4090's and 7900's you need quality 1000 watt PSU just for headroom.

            • @Forth: potato? psu in question in the Corsair SF750 platinum, the best option for sfx for a long time. There are many sfx builds with 4090 on that psu. The 1000w reccomendation is related to quality, but in the reverse, its for that one person thats gonna use a 'potato' 80 plus white. But I appreciate your belittling
people have had no issue with 13900k and 4090 on 850w platinum

              • @Pugkin: You can do what you like, just don't recommend undersized PSUs to less tech literate people kid.
It's just bad practice and unethical.

                • @Forth: It’s not undersized if it works fine, again, the 1000w recommendation is just to account for people using dodgy psus. If it works it works

    • I can draw 420 watts on this card in Cyberpunk without an under volt that's why.

  • is there a 7600 xt yet?

    • No they haven't even released a 7800 or 7700 yet

  • haven't had problem with Center Con just now, RX 6700 ordered with $15 next day delivery arrived as expected

  • -4

Pardon my ignorance but does anyone actually buy these cards?

    • yes

    • -1

no, people prefer to pay more for less actually

    • +1

considering how slow the price of gpu are coming down I would say yes they are selling, otherwise there would be more cuts faster.

  • Thanks OP. Bought 2.

  • Very tempting! (Considering I'm planning to play total war WH3 soon!

  • bought 7900 xt asus tuf 1167$ last week. not sure if i got any regrets already, jk im happy with my 7900 xt so far.

  • darn I just ordered this for 1649 yesterday! what are the chances they are kind enough to refund the difference?

    • +1

they have 14 day return policy so should be good, tell them will save you the hassle of returning and buying again

      • Cheers I've raised a ticket let's see what they say on Tuesday I suppose

        • +1

They asked me for a screenshot of the sale price as it seems the price has gone up to $1599, luckily I'm prepared…

          • +1

@sirbangforbuck: Got my refund! moral of the story make sure you take a screenshot/order the item but choose bank deposit

  • This or 4080 for $100 more.

    • Where are you getting a 4080 for $1649?

  • This is actually a decent price imo. If i wasnt going on holiday soon I'd probably jump on this, hopefully Eofy has deals around this price or maybe even lower 🤗

  • Is 6900XT for $800 a good deal ?
