  • What’s the price of the cheapest s23 ultra?

    • +3

      $1,364.30 - 256gb - 8gb RAM

      • Thanks.

    • +13

Actually only 2 weeks ago the S23 Ultra 256 was $1199 on Amazon, so that's the cheapest it has ever been.

      • +4

was cheaper with the $800 trade in bonus + $250 instant voucher for accessories a couple of weeks ago

        • on public site?

          • @shabaka: Yes. Got one. Still not delivered

            • @Mikedrop89: After over 10 phone calls and a report to consumer affairs + paypal i finally got mine after ordering over a month ago

        • +3

If you know somebody that works in Telstra, you can get them(limit of 2) to get it for you(256gb variant only) for 50%.

I just got one at 50% off like a week ago.

          • @yolow: that sounds like a brilliant deal. Thanks for sharing.

          • @yolow: How much did you get the 256gb variant for? Is this 50% without having to trade in?

            • +1

@pgsn: $974 i think it was. No trade in.

        • Yep. Got a S23 Ultra 512gb for $1166 plus free accessories worth $250. This was after trade in bonus and stacking discount vouchers.

  • +4

S23 ultra 512gb was $1500 amazon last week.

    • +2

Its $1,574.30 with the deal the OP has posted here. So not quite as cheap.

    • Better off with the S20 so you can put in a 1TB micro SD card. It's a real shame they don't have SD card slots in the newer models

      • +5

        Um, no.

        • I mean I recently bought an S20 Ultra 5G recently for $350, so it comes down to the price. Slapped in a cheap SD card, no ragrets

      • +1

No one needs that much porn at any given time mate.

        • What about long flights and train rides across the continent

          • -1

@x x: Try looking out the window to keep your mind busy.

          • @x x: What about short walks and bike rides across the local shopping centre

        • Speak for yourself.

    • +56

Is it still the other day or has time moved forward?

      • +4

Just need a deal on a delorean. 🙃

        • +7

          You mean a dealorean?

          I'll show myself out

    • +1

do you know , it will be $1000 in future

      • Are you suggesting that we should HODL?

      • +2

maybe…….maybe not. You still cant get even a S22 ultra for that price.

      • +1

Possibly not, none of the older models dropped that much within the flagship year

  • +1

How much is the cheapest S23 if anyone can check?

    • +4

      $1154.30 for the 256GB

128GB is not an option as it’s sold out

      • +2

        thanks for confirming

        • +7

It's showing for me as available for $944.30 for the base s23.

          Might be a colour thing.

  • +9

Gotta say, long time Samsung resister and user of Chinese phones. The S23 Ultra is fantastic.

    • +1

      What about it?

      • +3

From a hardware perspective, it's a huge upgrade from my old phone (which was 4 and a half years old obviously). Battery life very good (getting 7-8 hours SoT), takes amazing photos, video stabilisation hard to believe till you see it. Software wise - yes there's heaps of bloat on it, but in terms of customisation, they've really thought about absolutely every way to customise the phone, which is why we go for android over ios, so that's great.

The only two downsides for me is I wish the fast charging would actually be faster, and the screen being shatterproof is supposed to be softer, and I've already had two little but noticeable scratches in the first week (I hate screen protectors).

        • better than the xiaomi 13 pro video stabilisation would you say?

        • I also hate glass screen protectors. try a TPU screen protector, it's a thin film that is invisible.

      • +1

That post says its not an issue on the Ultra, and no, I dont have it.

        • Neither do I.

      • Not for the Ultra phones

        • +2

You are right. I misread and have removed comment.

Looks like the ultra is back on my radar

          • +1

@DaddysBelt: got my ultra yesterday after ordering it on the 23/03 and I'm enjoying it so far. my previous S22+ now feels small.

also if you're wondering why I upgraded so soon, the battery on the S22+ was just bad. no way to make it sound good, it was plain BAD.

day 2 and it's already better than the best I ever had with my S22+, hoping it'll keep improving as it learns my usage.

    • I haven’t owned a Samsung since the original Galaxy and agree this one is top tier. Two of the staff upgraded their personal phones to the 512gb with ear phones pre launch and the photos and video are as good as it gets especially at evening concerts. It is as refined as it gets for this model range.

The only niggle I have with it is the build quality, but for that price compared to the iPhone I use it is a lot of features for the money. Everyone else I know has more or less skipped the last two or three iPhone generations and are waiting for the 15 and that will be nowhere in pricing.

      • Whats the issue with build quality from your perspective?

  • s23 ultra gogogo

  • The S23 Ultra did not hold its price well

    • +1

It's as if Samsung was guilty about their RRP, tested it out for a few weeks, then decided they felt bad and wanted to discount it to the price it should be lol

    • That's your version of events !

    • S23 series sells 50% faster than S22.
60% of S23 sold is Ultra

  • +1

Anyway to access this offer without having university attendance?

    • is the price worth it?

    • +4

You just need an email with a .edu domain.
      No attendance required.

      • Have just done this using my sons school email address. Picked up an S23 Ultra 512gb Lavender delivered for $1579. Cheers OP

        • -1

          Well done assclown…

    • Gumtree have some better offers than this.

  • +6

want the $750 deal back from Amazon

  • +7

Warning, I ordered a Samsung S23 Ultra from the Government portal on the 10th March and it's still "awaiting dispatch". I have contacted customer service on multiple occasions and they have offered no insight at all.

    • +2

Samsung going down hill i have just received my money back :(

    • +3

Samsung have changed logistics companies and they are in a world of hurt - if you need in a hurry avoid

    • +3

Yep, me too. Customer service keeps giving run around. I don't know why are still taking orders if they can't service month old ones.

      • +2

Likewise. It's beyond a joke. I get a different story each time I call their support line to ask where on earth my phone is.

It is absolutely impossible getting it resolved.

    • +2

Yep, be warned. I ordered an s23 ultra in the second week of March - it was listed as in stock. It's been a month with nothing but an e-mailed invoice. No communication or ETA from Samsung. Depending on where I look, my phone is either listed as 'preparing dispatch' or 'awaiting dispatch'. It's been like that for the past three weeks. Pretty unbelievable, really.

      • +3

Yep, mine is exactly the same. Status changes but nothing happens. I was on chat with them last week and they said it was due to be delivered on 9 April. I said I was sceptical as that was Easter Sunday and they just went off on a tangent. It's still not here.

        • +2

I've decided to operate on the assumption that it will never be delivered. That way, I might be pleasantly surprised… eventually… maybe. In the meantime, it's a small consolation to know I'm not the only one experiencing their abysmal incompetence. Misery loves company, and as it turns out, Samsung is a pretty miserable company to deal with.

  • -2

People, "of" and "off" are NOT the same thing…

  • Any deals on tabs?

  • +2

Anyone with an S23 having camera issues? I have the S22 Ultra and from the factory it had camera issue. I had to send it back for repair with all the clear plastic still on the phone. They wouldn't replace it. They insisted that the device needed to be sent off for repair, even though it was faulty out of the box.
Had a nightmare of a time with that.
Then afterwards I got the phone back and it started to have blurry photos and zoom issues where it doesnt zoom properly. When you zoom in it goes blurry.. Just wondering if its worth upgrading to the 23 Ultra or do they also have camera issues? A quick google search tells me that there is still an issue. But wanted to confirm from actual users.

    • +1

I have zero issues with my phone so far.

    • I think you are entitled to have replacement within 6 months of buying if something goes wrong with the phone. I bought s22 ultra from jb hif in july, had charging port issue, they gave me new one in January. Maybe it is only from jb?

    • Zoom issue sounds like a problem with the laser autofocus. Would not be obvious as the non ultra models don't have the hardware, and the cameras themselves might test fine.

If it's still recent you could try a complaint to the ombudsman and ask for a replacement

    • +6

What are you, the university students' phone gatekeeper?

      • I'd eat my shoe if half of the students that buy these aren't the same oh woe is me "I can only afford ramen" crowd. I think he's more poking fun at people's inconsistencies.

        • Likely because:
"Oh woe is me, i can only afford ramen…. Because check out my new S23 Ultra, baby!!"

      • -5

You got pretty cut about a basic observation, guess what I said really hit you in the feels did it boy?

        • I'm 36 and not a student. Boy.

          • @shiny1: I'm older than you but still have an edu address because of mobile phones, fridges, tv, microwave ovens oh yeah! Just stay away from their washing machines, I don't wish a house fire on others.

    • Did you forget most if not all these uni kids have parents too? Some (uni kids) even work already.

Fun fact: just because you might have been a broke uni student don't mean everyone is.

      • -4

I hope you didn't go to uni because you don't know what a fact is

        • +2

Would it burst your bubble that im friends with those that went to uni rocking iphones? Hey they could afford it and its their money. They can spend it on whatever they like.

Just to end the argument. You seem salty that people are buying things you seem to think they shouldn't. Like it's your money they are spending.

          • @xoom: I remember rocking up at uni with my new 6110! Was such a baller and paying $60 a month on an 18 month contract. What a stupid move financially, now that i look back at it. But 20 minutes per call for free voda2voda between 8pm and 12am, that was a winner and was a great hit with the girls!

  • +1

This phone battery is the most legit I've ever used. Moving to Qualcom globally was a good call. This weekend I got 5 hrs SOT over 3 days. Charged 10% Monday evening. I rarely plug it in in the evening, and top-up around 50% every second day in the afternoon on quick charge Samsung 40W charger. It really is next level.

  • +10

    WARNING to everyone.
I did a pre-order on 16th Feb through the education store, still waiting for an update on my order.
It's been stuck in either "awaiting dispatch" or "on the way".
4 different delievery dates and still no one from Samsung can tell me when my phone will be delievered.
Have raised it up multiple times and had my case escalated with a "case manager" since 5th March, still no one has called, messaged or emailed me back.
My last delievery date was 16th March. My order hasn't been updated on the system and no one can tell me what is happening.
Absolutely disgusing customer service from Samsung. I would never pre-order or order anything through the Samsung website again, their CS is bad……….

    • +1

Did you choose one of the custom online only colours?

      • +1

No, it was plane white colour.
        I didn't want any delay.
When I ordered the phone online it said it was in stock and would be shipping 16th Feb.
Almost 2 months now…… and they can't tell me anything…….

    • Pretty much exactly what happened to me, zac-star made a comment about them changing logistics companies, which I have heard elsewhere.

You would think that they this info would filter down to their poor customer reps but no, they are completely clueless.

  • +6

Looks like Samsung is just fooling people now a days with launching phones with high and inflated RRP and then offer 20-30% discount via Corporate and Education portals, making people believe that these are good deals.
For example, Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra 256GB 8GB RAM via this deal costs $1,364.30, which is what should be its RRP. But launching it at $1,949 and then giving 30% off just to make people believe they are getting a good deal.

    • +5

Well, more value than an Apple phone.

    • +4

This is so true and reflects all their products in my opinion.
They make the bulk of their profit at launch from all the fanboys then drop it for everyone else who can wait for it to sell for what it's actually worth.
You would have to be daft to purchase a Samsung product at RRP.

      • +1

Yep always wait 6 months from release or fake special which is what rrp should be , upgrade every 2 to 3 years instead of every year now…… A good phone used to be 1K , 2K for a phone is just crap…. People need to stop paying the high prices for the prices to drop…….

    • Exactly never buy samsung (or anything at retail - some brands don't discount though).
Alwasy wait for education + tradein bonus/promo. I bought Zfold3 a month after launch for 1100$ through education store. Or get something like the JBIHIFI promo. Got a few s23/+ coupons. If amazon gets the low price again - Price match +coupon = very cheap s23/+!
