Prices don't look like they've really moved… Say may say that the offer is worse now without the giftcard and samsung care

I have to get a new phone by August, and preferably want the S23+. Between now and then do we think we may see the phone cheaper than this?

    • +1

Amazon Prime Day is 11 July. We may see the recent Prime deal repeated then.
I expect many retailers will also have end of financial year sales in June.

      • Ah I'll definitely wait then, thanks for letting me know

    • +1

My guess would be yes, there might be better deals, but not significantly better. 30% off RRP on a current model phone is already high.

I'd avoid buying anything off the Samsung store - bought an S23 ultra a month ago and they still haven't sent it. Getting some story about upgrades to their system while they sit on my money

      Bad luck

  • Ordered phone from Samsung store on 29 March. Delivered today. I got a weird verification call last Saturday on a bad line - sounded like a scam. I had ordered the phone in the name of someone else (for TRS purposes) which caused a lot of grief (if you don't want people placing orders in someone else's name, why allow it?). Spent 10 minutes arguing before they accepted it was me who placed the order.

  • I placed two orders of s23u for me and my wife. One is ordered at 10/03, and arrived soon. Another one is pre-order at Feb, and I'm still waiting for despatch.
The good news is maybe I can claim trs on this phone as we are going on holiday on June.

  • it shows 20% off to me, which is 1559,
can I get a bonus of 500 off trade-in with it?

  • Does any one know, if we use samsung trade in, if we dont send the trade in phone back we are charged an admin fee but still get the trade in bonus right?

Does using samsung trade in affect our credit rating in anyway?

    • Can't trade in on edu site

  • Thanks for the shout out @happydude

No worries. BTW my kickback cheque is late. Can you follow up?

      • 😉

Got my S23+ from the recent Amazon deal the other day. Really happy with it and the battery is great. I'm glad the S23+ has a flat screen and isn't curved. Coming from a OnePlus 7T Pro with a curved screen was a real PITA. Will never buy a curved screen again and it was the only phone I ever had where I cracked the screen from a small drop (2 feet) in a kit bag. Ironically the OnePlus got a decent OTA software update the other week. Must have heard I was buying the Sammy!

Serious q, who buys these and why
They have worse value then a car , in a year it's literally 80% off and there's not much difference to old model

    • Serious answer - People who want a better phone than Apples regurgitated nonsense?

Don't worry.. in 5 years, Apples phone will match this phones camera etc, and be 4k for the device :)

  • Back when the S22 was launched, i paid $1500 for the S22 Ultra 1TB, with accessories (case and charger) and it was pre-order! So much more expensive now.

I've lost track of what the actual price of this phone is. It's had all sorts of trade in, voucher based stuff. Maybe some genius here could develop a spreadsheet detailing the deals.

    • +1

      Don’t worry. OZB’s don’t buy anything on it’s actual price 🙂

      • Haha yeah, that would be a violation 😁

  • @happydude appreciate the post - I was lurking for ages and missed the Amazon deal for $1200, so paid the extra $65 which imo is worth it … I hope I can receive this fast as I have read some horror stories on delivery delays!!!

  • Just bought S22 Ultra for my wife from JB hi-fi for about $1300 last weekend. Can't return it since we have opened the box and set the phone up already.
Kicking and hating myself after seeing this deal.

    • -2

If your receipt doesn't have a serial number, buy from this deal and return the unopened box.

      • Unfortunately, JB receipt usually includes IMEI

      • +2

He bought S22 Ultra, and this deal is for S23 Ultra…!!!!

        • Oppss my bad!

And to those sensative people that negs my previous comment, this one is for you. lol. 🖕🖕

    • not much diff tbh

  • I wonder if we'll hit under 1.5k for S23 ultra 512gb in the next few months

    • +1
      • Lol sad I missed this. I guess it's not necessarily always cheaper to get stuff from education store since I only checked education store and not amazon

  • Can anyone check the price of the Samsung S23 plus 256gb and also 512gb black via this deal plz?

    • Added a table.

But going to the normal site and then doing minus 30% also would have worked.

      • Thanks mate! Much appreciated.

  • Am i able to get this without a gov email?

    • You need a edu email

      • Yeah okay fair enough, thanks

  • +1

Hmm I'm extremely tempted but going from other's comments it won't arrive before I go overseas in about two weeks. Maybe next year. Hopefully my S9 will keep chugging along until then. It's a shame it's so expensive to replace the battery. From various tear down videos, the S23 line looks a lot more repairable than previous generation, so hopefully this trend continues.

  • Tried to get JB to price match so I could pick it up on the day. No luck unfortunately!

    • For some reason one person on the live chat told me JB HIFI doesn't price match the Samsung store at all, yet alone the education store. Maybe it just depends on the person though.

      • If it's Samsung's standard pricing or discount off RRP, then I don't see why not. If the discounts are "trade in bonuses" or require coupon vouchers, then I doubt JB will price match.

Thanks heap, bought s23 ultra 256gb + $100 trade in + $200 off bundle deal (50% off buds 2 from here https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/768950) + 10% off bonus + this uni code works out $1,100 total. Very happy.

    • Hey mate
Can you please give the breakdown and bit explanation on your process except the trade in $100

      • Trade in my old s20 for $100 😅 could have got better trade in value from jb tho

        • +1

Its coming up as 1273.80. I am trying to get to your 1200 without trade.

I got buds which applied additional 200 off. Then, unidays code which got 10% off. What am i missing ?

          Thx

          • @Cmaz: Weird, i have no idea tbh, as soon as i saw the total, went ahead with payment. Your price is very good too

            • @vinaricee: I wonder if it could be trade in bonus

  • Anyone know if the prices are any cheaper on the Gov epp?

  • +1

able to combine bundle discount with the galaxy buds.

Got the 512GB version and galaxy buds for <$1500

    • Hey @ifailbot… Can you please explain on how to acheive this please.

When I add it the 512 GB price shows as 1574.30, but you seem to have got it for 1424.

Also how do we apply bundle discount?

      • +2

Combine your order with the galaxy buds that are currently 50% off. Bundling saves you $200 off the total cost, but the galaxy buds are only ~$100 so you save a further ~$100

        • Thanks mate… you are a champ

  • Ordered the red 512 and received it after 2 days - shipped with StarTrack. Happy with the delivery speed!
