Can this be used to help with SAD?

    • +1

No - SAD relies on you having a spectrum of light that these just do not put out. In other words, Full sprectrum or "grow" lights.

I bought a pair of these just for the stands and mounted some better lights on them, worth it for the price and the stands are quite sturdy.

    • +2

Can the stands be modded to use with cameras, ipads, speakers etc or even the kogan RGB flood light

      • As long as you have the correct thread size for the ball head mount on whatever you are going to attach to it then you could attach any number of things. Having said that cameras and speakers might be a bit too top heavy for this stand (it will also depend on how far you extend the arm and how heavy the camera/speaker is). In any case I'm sure if you bought it and found it didn't do the job you can always take it back.

    • How bright are the default lights? Thinking of getting these for book reading at night. $10 is about the right price if they work out.

      • I picked up a couple as night / reading lights.

They work well. Stand is sturdy/heavy-ish and uses a standard tripod screw mount. It's dimmable - the brightest setting is too bright for my liking. There's also 3 colour temperature options.

Things to note - the extension is actually less than the description. When fully extended, the height from base to ball joint is about 60cm. The measurement on the box refers to the base to the top of the light.

It also doesn't come with an AC adaptor. I had to use a spare one I had lying around.

        • Thanks for that. Ordered a couple, also. I have around 30+ USB AC adaptors so that's not an issue, either. :)

We'll see if the order gets cancelled or not.

  • Order cancelled for delivery order in NSW due to no stock

    • I saw some at Castle Hill but stock check said OOS

  • Thanks op. It's really good quality for the price and I ordered another one (for camping)
