  • When did this start? Used a lot of points last week so maybe i can expect to get this bonus points as well!

    • +1

Saw this today. I think the promo started in April but don't know if it was on last week. It wasn't there when I checked in March

Edit: Looking at the previous offer in Dec and the dates, it was probably on last week. Keep the screenshot as proof of offer

      • +1

Yeah it's been running for a while.

      • It was 2k per 10k spend back in Dec

  • I used points two days ago so hopefully …

  • +1

In the last promo in Dec, I had to contact Telstra for the bonus points with proof of offer. Hopefully Telstra is more organised this time.

Good to get some Telstra prepaid vouchers for those who use this service as the prices are going up in July. Got the email today

    https://www.telstra.com.au/mobile-phones/prepaid-mobiles/pla…

  • How much are 10,000 points worth now?

    • 5k = $10 Amazon gift card, so about $20 for 10k.

    • +3

      @FreshPanda

      Here's the list:

      https://plus.telstra.com.au/rewards/explore?offer=all

On special - Belong $80 SIM Starter Pack
3 months plan credit when you activate on Belong $25/mth 20GB mobile plan.

10,000 points, now reduced to 5000 points

      • I am thinking to get this too. I did not see any "activate by date xxx" thing on the page. So probably will get two to meet the requirement?

        • +2

The expiry date will be on the Belong packaging.
Just received my $40 Boost SIM and expiry is May 2024 so you would probably be fine with two Belong.
The Telstra vouchers I received expire in a year's time.

          • +1

@trixieb: Got it! Thanks for sharing! Big help!

          • +2

@trixieb: The expiry date is 12 months from purchase.

It would seem that gone are the days of getting them for 2000 points and no postage fee, and then getting six month's free usage out of them. Best you can do now is five months (if you stump up an additional dollar).

        • +1

Couldn't add 2 to cart so may not be available for the 1000 point bonus.

          • +1

            @ballistykx: O| ̄|_

            • +1

@willthefomo: Yeah I was spewing but at 5000 points it is still a good deal. I got a few when it was 2000 points and have hardly paid for my phone plan in nearly 1.5 years so far.

              • +1

@ballistykx: Legend. That's awesome! But I guess it's very rare for them to have 2000 points offer for that sim?

      • +1

That additional shipping fee makes the deal much less attractive

        • +1

Free delivery today as mentioned below

        • +1

Keep on clicking through and it will remove the shipping fee as mentioned.

          • +1

@ballistykx: Yeah, tried earlier today and I was able to order without shipping fee.

  • +2

Can't check out any amazon vouchers.
got 60k points to use up and been trying to "contact us" etc.
    The whole setup is terrible

    • +1

Yes, getting a 404 page not found after I hit checkout.

      • +1

I was getting this. The only way I could order was to use a browser (not app) in the telstraplus page click on my profile icon, which seemed to go back to the base Telstra I'd sign in then scroll down to the redeem Telstra points area. The checkout button was then a redeem button that worked. It was confusing to say the least.

        • tried multiple browsers and devices, no go for me still. Kinda glad no longer with Telstra but wanna cash out the 50k points or so.

  • +1

What’s the consensus of best use for these anyway?

    • +1

I typically just choose the Amazon card

      • +1

Can you check out with 2 x $10 Amazon gift cards to make up the 10,000? For some reason the $10 card costs 5,000 points but the $30 card costs 15,500 points 🤔

        • I can't say for certain, does it allow two to be added to the cart at once?
Edit because I understood the initial comment wrong

        • When I tried to buy 2x belong sim cards at 5000 points each they didn't have a cart. Tried in the app and in a browser. You checked out after each item.

  • +1

Dont make the same mistake I did and exchange them for physical items. 3 items I got failed (2 tp link plugs and a cygnett PowerPlus), sent them back in Dec and January and still 0 word on anything about it

    • +1

only way to get Telstra to sort issues is call them & demand to lodge an official complaint and ask for a reference number (don't let them try fobbing you off), then they will actually have to allocate someone, there's an electronic form you can also complete online somewhere

    • That's an isolated case though - if you don't follow up that's up to you. I've redeemed points for physical items a few times and have had no issues.

      • +1

Up to me? I followed up and all they said was that they are months behind and they ll get to it when they get to it. I'm not talking about issues with receiving items, but sending it back for warranty issues

        • I had an issue with my Sennheiser earbuds, sent them in and got told we can't help you.

I had to lodge a formal complaint per the comment above by @Irishness, it was fixed in 48 hrs from there. Whole thing was a 3 month process until I cracked it and lodged the complaint.

Just as you said, I won't be redeeming for any more physical items either

          • @trotsky: They didn't offer your points back? I just want my points back so I can redeem a gift card or something lol

            • @MeesusEff: They didn't until I complained, no. Long story they sent me to a Telstra Shop who then sent me to an online form which then generated a return postage label and I posted it off, the group that got it never replied and when I tracked them down they told me they couldn't do anything if it was bought with Telstra Plus points and told me to go back to the Telstra Shop, but I didn't have the device anymore because I had sent it back.

So I lodged a complaint and only then was it resolved.

  • If anyone else has this issue with Telstra plus and are getting the runaround, if you experience the error "Based on our assessment, you're ineligible to redeem this item." at checkout, there appears to be some drama with their system where although you can select an alternative deliver address from whatever they have on file for your account it causes some sort of drama. I had to dig through about 3 separate areas on the My Telstra page to update all traces of my old address and then waited about a week before trying again (trying immediately still gave same error). Found this whirlpool thread where someone managed to figure this out - https://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/98m0qp43-2

When I contacted Telstra support about the error originally, they claimed they knew there was a problem but it would take them SIX MONTHS to fix.

  • +1

Showing as free shipping for today only

    • +1

Still showing as $5.95 or 2500 points for me (non-Gold member). Have you already bought something today? If so, then apparently you get free delivery on any other purchases made until midnight on the same day, which would explain it.

EDIT: I take that back. I went through the motions to see what it'd say next, and when it showed the delivery as $0, I went ahead and pulled the trigger. (Of course now that I've done that, they'll be 2000 points tomorrow, lol.)

      • Yep, that was my exact thought yet they could go back to 10000 points tomorrow as well + delivery

  • Yes, I bought a couple of Belong Sims and it was free delivery (Silver member)

  • +1

Placed an order for Belong Sim, shame it did not let me order two at item to qualify for the 1000 points back. It also does not seem possible to add any other items to cart for checkout.

  • Is this offer still valid? I just spent 24k of points.

I couldn't see anywhere the listing for 1k points, per 10k spend.
(Unless it was really well hidden)

    • Yes still valid and free delivery for Belong and Telstra SIM cards (basic member)

  • Redeemed Amazon Prime code for 24k points and received 2k points back.

Ordered unlocked Motorola G62 5G on sale for under 100K Telstra Plus points.

My 4 year old phone was dying. Delivered yesterday

    Deal upon Deal upon Deal👍
Phone selling for $399 @JB + had 5 nights accommodation in Noosa (low budget) for total of $183! Now with 9k bonus points!

Once points turn up, will have enough to redeem 1yr Amazon Prime for 24k

You must be one of the luckiest ex-Telstra customer!

      • Thanks to people posting Deals here👍

        ex-Telstra customer…

Many years since I was a Telstra customer.
Created 3 Telstra IDs over a decade ago. Telstra cancelled 1.

Used those to create 2 Telstra Plus accounts end of 2021, when first noticed a Telstra Plus Deal…
2,500 Free Telstra Plus Points for Fully Vaccinated Members @ Telstra (Plus Membership Required)

        Only earnt points in Deals
More than 1 account is handy to accumulate those bonus points. Can transfer points between accounts.

Up until now, only redeemed for 5 x $80 Beyond SIMs a year ago - total of 10k pts. Activating last 1 tomorrow, using Referral.

Still over 2k pts left in account & 20K in second account. 9k from this Deal will be icing on the cake 🍰

  • +1

Received the 8000 bonus points today for redeeming 80,000 points on 23 April. Hope you all get your bonus points soon

    • Over a month after spending almost 100k pts - nothing!

Complaining will just get the standard response - not a current Telstra customer…

      Have 22,600 pt.
But it's now almost impossible to redeem pts😢 if not a current Telstra customer…

      • Just received 10k points back on that purchase.

  • [UPDATE] Telstra Plus Rewards Store
Access now blocked if don't have an active Telstra account!

Can't even see what is on offer, in app or site!

    Just opening Rewards Store shows:
    Unable to process your order
As you do not currently have an active service with Telstra, you will be unable to redeem in Telstra Plus. An active Telstra service is required to reinstate eligibility to redeem. Active services can be created via telstra.com.au.

BUT, Directly going to Rewards Store works!
    https://checkout.telstra.com.au/consumer/rewards?login=true

Otherwise, cheapest way to definitely create active account for short time seems $10 Telstra SIM

Haven't tried ordering. Way around common '404' issue in ChillBro's comments:

    https://checkout.telstra.com.au/consumer/rewards/technology-…
Where xxxxx is code found in URL for product you want on Rewards Store.

Bought 5G phone for <100k pts 2 weeks ago using that system.

22k left. Hopefully +9k pt soon from this Deal!

    • Wish I had seen chillbro's link sooner… Just tried redeeming points but at the last step, it fails to place order "Sorry we're having some technical problems" :/

I have no active service for a while now

  • Suggestion: Buy a $2 Telstra SIM. Activate it and choose the option to select a plan later. Should be good for six months without a recharge before it's killed off. You'll get a warning that you'll only be able to receive calls and text messages for 7 days without recharging. IME, sometimes it's enforced and sometimes it isn't. If it's only a throw-away number to keep Telstra happy, who cares, right?

    • That gets a Telstra number, only for incoming calls & SMS. But does that qualify as an ACTIVE SERVICE??

Might try, but found clicking above link gets past issue of accessing Rewards offers, without an active service

      • +1

But does that qualify as an ACTIVE SERVICE??

        Has for me, so far.

found clicking above link gets past issue of accessing Rewards offers, without an active service

        Sweet!

        • Good, will try if access via link fails.
          (Added link after your comment.)

          • +1

@INFIDEL: This, from the Telstra Plus T&C's, is something to be aware of too……

If you don’t have at least one active service or choose to leave Telstra Plus, your membership will be suspended until you sign up for another service or reactivate your membership. If your membership is suspended for 12 months, your points balance will expire.

            • @Colin2905: Yipes!! Things are changing.
              Telstra really don't like us!

Maybe a FORUM post is needed.

Luckily just spent most points gained from Deals last year.
Will have to try your suggestion to keep T+ member active (at least once a year)!

Another member told me - can't change email / phone number. T+ won't change his contact details so he can log in. Probably because doesn't have active service.

              • @INFIDEL: My one remaining Telstra service is due to be killed off in a few days. Once it's gone, I can have a look for myself to see what I can and can't do. I only have a little over 2000 points left, so not a great loss if I were to lose them. I still have a couple of freebie $2 Telstra SIM's that expire in September, so I'll activate one of those just before they do.

My wife currently has 19,000 points, so I'll be a little more protective of them.

                • @Colin2905: Protect those points!
Will try to use up pts as ASAP!

Haven't had a Telstra service for nearly a decade! Telstra ID was from before then.
My other account was set up using Telstra ID from parents home phone 15 years ago! Transferred it's 20k pts to my account.

Wrote the Telstra Wiki here, when $30 bought 3GB & 30d! Who would use more than 3GB a month?🤣

But those SIMs were occasionally sold for $1. The $30 credit on each could be sold as a transfer, for $16.50! A $15.50 profit per SIM💰

    • +1

      Worked for me tonight, thanks!
Bought 2 X 12month Amazon memberships. Activated each right after the purchase.

      • With a Telstra $2 sim, without paying?
That would be great if confirmed!!

Have 31k pts to use & Amazon Day is approaching.

        • +1

yes, $2 SIM. I had to pay $2 for the SIM

          • @ripprind: $2 spend to access Telstra+ points. A sad day😉
            Thanks - that's great👍 Will give it a try.

    • +1

Confirmed: $2 Telstra SIM hack gives access to Telstra Plus Rewards points if don't have active Telstra service🎉
(Free SIM from some hotels, international airports, & tourist spots.)

Don't have an active Telstra service to redeem in Telstra Plus..

      As explained by Colin2905 above…
Activated $2 Telstra SIM via my Telstra ID.
      Chose to select plan later.

After 1hr, could access Telstra Plus Rewards store to use points. Shows activate service (recharge to make calls).

Redeemed 1 year Amazon subscription for 24,000 Points (Points earnt from Deals)
      Clicked link through to Amazon.
Worked fine on old account with no subscription - to add subscription.

    • I activated $2 SIM card without recharge, it is showing ‘expire’ under my plus accounting and can’t redeem plus points. Did I do something wrong when I activated the sim? I didn’t see the option to select a plan later.

  • So I'm also getting this error about not having an active service (even though I still have an active one year prepaid Boost service??), used the link to redeem 3 months Prime but now can't redeem a $10 gift card using the same method:

Sorry we're having some technical problems
You can try again later or leave your contact details and we’ll let you know when our system is back up and running.

    Any way around this? @pea

Unfortunately couldn't add multiple items to cart to claim an extra 1k points (had 13k points to use).

    • I’m still having the problems redeeming. The site bloody sucks.

Do you have multiple memberships under your Telstra ID? Could be worth transferring your points to another membership number if you do (which may be linked to an active service). I was told that was my problem by the Telstra chat agent.

It wasn’t the end of my problems though, I kept getting errors trying to transfer my own points. Got into contact with chat agent again, they were having errors too trying transfer my points for me, so my issue has been escalated. Still waiting for an answer.

      • Nah, no other memberships from what I can see. Looks like I'll have to contact them.

  • Finally received 10k points back on 100k pt phone purchase🎉
