Surely the TCL c835 deals are better bang for buck?

    • +6

That’s like saying a Fiat is better bang for buck to a Ferrari.

      • +1

Correct. A Fiat is better bang for buck to a Ferrari if you are just talking about a motor vehicle that takes you from one place to another.

        • +4

Yeah but you dont go to the Ferrari thread say that the Fiat will 'take you from A to B too'

          • @nikoris: You always get those comments here. Look at any apple bargain and 5 people will jump in and say “my cheaper android phone is better - you sheeple people are dumb” rah rah rah

            • @illusion99: And that’s exactly it, people are comparing apples with oranges. The same crowd will typically state, Why would you buy an OLED? Whilst the Chinese make an acceptable TV, they are not without their inherent problems, which you will not find with your more reputable brands.

              • @[Deactivated]: Bruh, can you please stop talking about 'Chinese'? Are you also saying 'American' and 'Korean'?
All products have issues, i saved my self 1k by going Hisense instead of Sony. Noone says Hisense is better but it is more than just acceptable.

                • @nikoris: 😂 Relax, I used to work for Hisense. I know what goes on behind closed doors.

                • @nikoris: Rightly or wrongly Chinese products have a reputation as being inferior quality. Even Chinese people in China prefer western/Japanese/Korean goods over locally made Chinese products.

                  • -2

@illusion99: That is not true. Sony TVs are made in China by Chinese. People in china prefer Sony TV because picture quality has been regarded as the best. iPhone is popular in china because the product design is the best. Chinese people in china do not prefer Korean goods. Samsung phones sell poorly in china, Hyundai Kia sales are far behind Chinese local brand cars

                    • +1

@kcir: Chinese people in China definitely do not prefer locally made infant formula or pet food. Basically things that might kill you or your pets are to be kept far away from you if they are made in China

                    • @kcir: I’m talking more about Chinese owned and designed products not just where the manufacturing plant is located

            • @illusion99: People be roasting Apple for their prices but i dont really see the 'sheeple are dumb' or the android comments tbh, you're exaggerating

Whilst the C835 is a good TV, it’s only good for those on a budget. If you can afford more, the logical thing to do is spend more. This is exactly what the Chinese want you to think, “why would I spend more on product X?” Because you’re paying for a better product. Chinese products are simply a facade.

      • This is exactly what the Chinese want you to think

Chinese products are simply a facade

This post deserves a 'bruh' reply.

  • I wonder if X95K's pic quality is much better than X95j. Got 75" X95j for $3500 when it just got released for 3-4 months. I thought it was a good deal.

    • Pic quality is very similar. The problem with the X95K is the 85 inch is the only one to have. They got the blooming down to near nothing thanks to the backlight master drive return. 65/75 inch is nowhere near good enough in comparison, they are actually really poor for black levels.

      • Oh, so 85" has much superior pic quality than little bros? I like the X95j but the blooming drives me crazy. I thot the mini led tech solved that issue?

        • All companies that have OLED will shaft their LCDs for black levels. Even though they can be very good. They just dont want to ruin the sales of their high end OLEDs and have it be close. Sony Z9D from 2016 had better blacks than any other LCD including todays models. Mini led doesnt really change too much for blooming, as the led lights are not that much smaller than before.

          • @Whisper Quiet: Thanks, yeah. I guess that's the price u pay for brighter TVs. Thanks

            • @Bargain-er: Z9D was 2000 nits and closer to 1000 nits full screen. So still much brighter than recent models too. All companies just went all in on OLED because they know they get more money for them. Its sad the way they do it, instead of the customer getting better deals and pic quality, they make you choose one or the other depending what you watch.
