The unboxing experience was not so sweet. I opened the bubble wrap and the case just came out in bits. Exhibit A
As I extracted the watch from the plastic zip lock the bracelet fell off from the top lug ends. Ahhh shit. The bracelet pin is bent at both ends. This must have taken the force of the impact during transit. Luckily the pins are known to be a bit like cheese and I was intending to replace with better quality pins anyway. Now the fun of extracting a bent pin. Exhibit B
Two days ago I received my ebay waffle strap which I intended to swap with occasionally anyway to mix up the look and feel. Looks like it's going straight on instead. Exhibit C
There doesn't appear to be any other shipping damage to the watch, thankfully.

@Muzeeb: yooooo wtf i would 100% be asking seller what can be done, my one came perfect and id be more than a little upset if mine came damaged to that extent. At the very least supply a whole new replacement bracelet imo. Lucky the actual watch was alright.

@Jimothy Wongingtons: I submitted a request for a replacement case and bracelet. They offered a partial refund of $83. Couldn't accept it quick enough. Awesome watch for $27. I'm going to put the refund towards an SD1940 or SD1953. Decisions decisions.
I've had my eyes on a Hruodland pilot's watch for a little while now. They're the only one I've seen so far that use the original style case (ie look like a Laco). Although at 42mm I know it'll be too big for my little wrist, but I still want one because it's a flieger, so it's meant to be big.
Although they don't seem to be included in this promo anyway.

@rosebank: They've got a few different finishes by the looks of it with regards to lume and 'ageing', I think this one probably almost looks the best. More expensive than the ones you list though, so not quite a bargain as such, but I think a more faithful replication.

@nifty1: I have watches with Seagull movements, both auto and hand wind, but have always wanted an actual SG watch
I think it looks better on a black strap than the brown one, but I purchased the brown as I also had another black strap I wanted to put it on.
Note that the brown strap version has a silver buckle so you may prefer to swap in a rose gold buckle
@rosebank: yes spotted that one earlier, lots of complications for the money and I am sure you will enjoy. I also had my eye on the one in your first link previously, but it has ST17 which is fine but base level movement whilst the 5 1 has their premium ST2130 movement. Gary at 'I like watches' has several reviews of their watches with ST2130, including the rose gold 5 1 I think
