To save anyone searching. VIP is $25 for a year so this brings it down to $12.50.

      Updated.

  • What does VIP give?

    • A membership card.

      • What does that get you?

        • +4

          Think bogof drinks

        • Get buy one, get one free coffees, free coffee upsizes and more all year round.^

        • +1

For the first year I used it thtee times and got 3 tokens / dollars towards a free coffee, but then the took away this breakfast of an amazing egg and bacon burger with a small espresso of your choice and iirc it was either $.9.95 or $11.95. Either way compared the breakfast deals you get from HJ and Maccas that shat all over them it was a genuine full rasher of bacon an slightly runny egg but you could ask for it to be cooked different, spinach and a relish - that alone was almost worth the $10 and the latte was at the correct temperature.

They replaced it with so BS afternoon cake thing that looked so unappealing I never tried it.

Then I forgot to cancel my subscription and up comes $25 on my debit card that I signed up with - not an in app purchase and I’m like DAMN, bring back that amazing breakfast deal. Now I can recall whether the Egg and Bacon Burger with small espresso was 2022 or 2021. Either way I fell for this trick of signing up when it was $12.50 and because they don’t rotate their menu items enough or do thinks like coffee and cake and I barely have time to wait for them to cook the best damn tasting egg and bacon burger I ever had but it was a good 10-15 minute wait and this was often after 8:45 sines after 9am

          1. I was blown away by how many people could afford CC’s prices and
          2. The restaurant seats 100 people easily excluding their outdoor area and it was always half full and I’m thinking “don’t these people work?” “ Jerez they have deep pockets” and “I wonder if the are regulars or got scammed into the $12.50 year one by $25 year two and what bonus did I get?”

Not even sure they even gave me a birthday coffee.

Buy 1 get 1 free coffee - everyday.

Served with an attitude when you use the card.

      • +3

That’s because the franchisee pays for it.

        • +2

Yep. Uncomfortable using this card the one year I had it. Used it twice and gave up.
Long set of exclusions and conditions. Never again.

          • @wetwork: What were the exclusions? Just that the cold drinks aren't included?

            • @Robot16: Public holidays, promo drinks, flavoured additions etc etc. Check the Ts and Cs before you pay.

      • +3

Served with an attitude when you use the card.

Used it everyday when they had a store in Albert Street Brisbane, I built up a good rapport with the staff. Not the best coffee in the world but was always served to me with a smile and a friendly bit of chat.

        • +2

I worked at that store from the day it opened. good to know the service was up there

    • Or coffee free up one size

  • How much is their coffee? Coffee bean taste still bitter?

  • My mother inlaw isnt a pensioner yet

  • My VIP membership expired months ago, thanks

  • It is normal for a Coffee Club to be locked out of their premises, being a franchise? The one in Albury shut suddenly without warning or a closure sign. Memberships went up in smoke.

    • The landlord must have been fed up that the rent wasnt paid for weeks.

  • Code won't work for me

    • Try capitals

      • Thank you- captials worked.

    • Same code doesn’t work for me

      • +1

        Works now

  • +1

I just spent far too long trying to click the “get one now” before realising you posted a screenshot, not the link 🤦‍♀️

  • Do you get a discount for food

  • The code doesn't work for me. Is only for the annual renewal only?

    • Try capitals. I just joined today using it. Lower case didn't work first time

If you aren’t going to use it, remember to cancel your subscription or make a note on your calendar or set a reminder. It’s not an in app subscription.

I can rarely afford one but by the time I get to ten coffees I might be working somewhere else completely, and nowhere close by.

From personal experience I forgot to cancel mine and for the next six months I was working nowhere near a CC and if you miss it the subscription date there’s no warning - and I wasn’t buying 10 coffees at CC - if you have a routine and go past one every day - that works but aren’t at least getting a a half a dozen or more free coffees in a year (that’s a lot of money btw) , I just can’t justify it also watch the menu prices creep up if they haven’t already. But that’s true of lots of things. I’m just freaked out by every cent at the moment. Sorry I’ve edited this about 10 times!

I mentioned earlier about an amazing bacon and egg burger with a small espresso which puts the fast food chains to shame. I can’t wait until they rotate this on the menu again as I’m not much of a coffee and cake person though plenty of people are.

But the bacon and egg burger and coffee I would go out of my way for - I’m on my own too much and the amount I have to spend just isn’t enough if I’m not working near one.on a regular basis.

Go look at their menu and prices will vary from franchise to franchise - work out if you are buying this for yourself or your mother whether they will remember to pull out the app to scan it every time.

If you can afford a big breakfast every Sunday, no wait, even 2nd Sunday, no forget that - once a month if you haven’t got a mortgage sucking up every spare cent, then it might be worth the $12.50 but I struggle to see how they justify $25 for membership - especially right now when in the past week I’ve had two streaming services increase in price and the cost of food seems to bounce up and down between 20% and40% more than I was paying only a few months ago.

OzB you are killing me with bargains but unless something breaks it’s going to be a while before I can spoil myself with a regular espresso.

At least the get the milk temp right at between 60C and 65C. Sorry if I’m a coffee snob but at the prices being asked for the espresso better be perfect if I can actually afford to buy one.

    • OzB you are killing me with bargains

      This is the way.

      • Spend money to save money!

    • remember to cancel your subscription or make a note on your calendar or set a reminder.

According to a comment in a previous deal, you can cancel the auto-renew immediately after renewing:

Actually there is an ability cancel the auto renewal online, I just did it myself.

After renewing VIP membership, in the members area there is a box marked "Update Payment Details".

Clicking on that takes you to their billing system where you'll see your VIP membership under 'Current Plan'.

To the right of that there is an option to 'Cancel membership', click on that and it will state that your membership remains valid until the expiry date (12 months) but the auto renewal is being cancelled. Click to agree and that's it.

      It was thankfully pretty simple.

Comment is here, thanks Tex Texan! https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/13181928/redir

      • But do still set a calendar alarm, to remind yourself to use up any loyalty rewards you have in your account. Can't use them after your account has expired…

  • Can they actually make a nice coffee yet?

  • How much do you pay for a coffee these days there?

    • Small - $4.60 up to a Large - $5.60

      • Thanks

  • Coffee and food is awful. Not sure why anyone with tastebuds would go to The Coffee Club

  • The hot chocolate is pretty good. However I haven’t bought from them in over a year. How much is a large hot chocolate now? It used to be $5 , buy one get one free.

    • +1

      $5.60

  • The title says "renewal" - does it work if your membership expired a year or two ago? Or if giving membership to someone who has never had it before?

    • +1

Tbh I'm not sure, I don't think I was a VIP member before hand (as I don't drink coffee).

I just signed up today as we shout coffees at work and 2 of the other guys were already members meaning we were getting two for free.

  • Do we actually need to use the VIP card to get the BOGOF and other deals? I signed up for this and assumed it will be all an in-app purchase or a digital card in their app. Going through the app now and it seems like I need to pay $5 and get a physical card.

    • +1

      VIP card: Yes
      Physical card: No

In my app it says VIP club up the top and I have a card button down the bottom

      • Thanks. Showing the same in my app too. So I assume we just need to scan the digital card of the app. Will go to a store tomorrow and find out.

  • I canceled the plan but I hen I press renew button there is no place for enter the code. I have about 6 months left in the existing plan.
