Used one of these for a bit when I had just moved in. Good value! Nothing special but 4k is nice.

    • +5

      Moved in where?

      • I mean just after I moved house and didn't have a monitor

  • Damn, that's cheap. Thanks OP, I bought one 😊

      • +17

Oh ok. I got a pack of oranges at woolies for 2 dollars.

        • +7

          Username checks out

        • User name checks out

  • +1

Do these have built in speakers?

    • +5

Think so but pretty crappy ones.

    • +3

      Yes

  • +4

They're fine. Viewing angles aren't great, and the colours aren't suitable for anyone even semi-serious about photo/video.

Still, it's a great price for what it is.

    • Unfortunate to hear about the colours. Is it matte or glossy? Expecting matte

It does say 178 degrees viewing angle, makes it sound like it's not that bad?

      • +1

Based on the contrast ratio, it'd be a VA panel. Inky blacks when compared to IPS, but many VA panels suffer colour-shift when viewed off center. Older ones like this often suffer from a ghosting effect when scrolling text or in fast motion.

      • +3

        It's matte

        • +3

Hello Matte, glad to meet you.

      • Mate, it's matte

    • +3

I like mine, agree with viewing angles but was a good test of a 4k monitor in my setup.

      It's a gateway drug, though - now I want a damn IPS 4k monitor :(

      Screen is matte.

      • +2

I go back and forth on my preference. Coming from VA, dark scenes look washed out and blacks look grey on an IPS once the ambient light dims. There really is no perfect monitor, it seems!

        • All we can agree on is that TN sucks. … unless you are a gamer :-)

        • +2

          what about OLED?

          • @pinkybrain: OLEDs don't fair well in bright environments when compared to LCDs, and even the latest OLEDs are subject to burn-in, making them less than ideal as productivity or gaming monitors where bright, static content is often being displayed. Beautiful, but imperfect.

            • @chrisandrew: you are hard person to please

you are probably better to stick to CRT monitors.

    • and the colours aren't suitable for anyone even semi-serious about photo/video.

We'll know then, who used the monitor, to design the OzB T-shirt
      Haha

    • even semi-serious about photo/video

VA is actually pretty good for watching movies. Maybe not so good for colour-editing them.

    • Do these guys ever get IPS?

  • +1

I have been holding off for ages, as I am perfectly fine using 2 24" monitors, but at this price it's almost an impulse buy. If it was IPS it would have been an instant buy from me

    • +2

The ongoing deal for the S2721DGF is worth a look. Only 1440p but you get a decent IPS panel and freesync support.

      • +3

Looks good but (eek!) it's nearly 400 bucks. The plan was use it for work for a bit and then eventually put it in a virtual pinball table, probably don't want to spend that much for a single use item that would end up being a bit on the small side for a vpin.

The deal I missed out on that was perfect was the Acer 32“ FHD IPS from kmart for 109. Kicking myself I didn't buy that, went back the next day and they were all gone

    • +1

IMO this is most suitable for someone with a reasonably deep desk.

  • +1

why do they have so much used ones?

    • +3

      End of lease contract

      • +1

oh ic…just seems odd this monitor (used) had so many expired deals previously…

        • They probably buy them by the pallet from grays auction or similiar. So imagine the condition they would be in piled over each other and wrapped with shrink wrap

  • +5

    Nice. Good Mother’s Day present

    • +4

I'm getting in early for Valentine's Day

      • +2

        Christmas is around the corner.

And dad might want one on his special day

      • +2

Your valentine is your mother? How sweet…i think?

  • OzBargain monitor is coming!

  • Didnt work for me without ebay plus.
New ebay account and ebay plus free trial fixed it.

  • +3

I ordered one from these guys in one of the last deals and when it arrived it wouldn't power on. Contacted them and they refunded me pretty quickly without asking me to send it back.

    • ordered via this deal and received a broken stand.
ebay message ignored so far and now they asked me to review them ;) okay, you'll get your review guys

      • UPD. they finally responded and offered a replacement for the stand. so far so good.

        • +1

UPD2. The replacement has been sent with a tracking number, delivery was quick.
          Great support

  • +1

    OOS

  • Damn. All gone.

  • Thanks OP, got one!

  • +3

I've ordered 3 of these from the original deal. All 3 with no issues.

    • +2

      What was the condition like?

      • +5

        no issues.

      • +5

All arrived in Dell S322IQS boxes. All cables (HDMI, DP) in original packaging except for power cable. All panels were in great shape, no marks, commercially bubble wrapped & cleaned and dust free.

These were in a vertical orientation from the unboxing - I’ve since kept it in the vertical orientation.

Functionality - no issues, slight delay on wakeup - see other comments from past posts.
The VA panel is fine for office use. I have x2 IPS monitors connected for a 3 monitor workstation for when I need colour accuracy.
Personally I don’t use the speakers but they’re okay. I wouldn’t use them for movies.

        • +2

Mine didn’t come with HDMI cable but they sent one through after, awesome service.

        • so it included power cable but just without the box?

what is the benefit of using display port cable vs hdmi cable with this monitor?

what is the model of your IPS monitor and how much you paid?

      • +2

i ordered from an earlier one, 1x had issues, got a refund no issues.
other one is still going strong.

both were great condition physically, just lines all through one of them.

  • Swear it was 1055 sold, so they sold another 13?

  • Damn it that was quick.

    • +1

      1 hour

  • +3

hehe, I just spent the last hour looking for a budget monitor to use for CCTV display. Came back here and… DOH!!!

  • +2

missed the $263 34" dell deal even it lasted for a few days. so this time i bought first, research later

  • I come too late.
Can someone recommend me a similar deal? No need to be as good as this one.

    • +4

      just keep waiting

these have been coming in and out of stock lately..

    • It's VA, you missed nothing, don't worry

      • Any recommendation for an ips, 27-32 inch 2k or 4k, height adjustable?

        • +1

I've been using 2 Dell S2721Q for photo and video editing and they're fantastic, especially for the price. The QS and QC models are what you want if you need usb3 or don't have a monitor arm.

If you want significantly bigger or better gaming wise I'd look at the Gigabyte M28U, MSI Optix MAG281URF, or Dell G3223Q.

        • Buy a nice monitor arm and then put the 31.5" Lenovo 4k on it. It's wonderful, just wonderful.

  • +2

Thank god this is a VA panel.

I would have got upset if I missed an IPS at this price.

  • +1

Not sure why but I swear this monitor hurts my eyes

    • +4

are you running it at 4K? It may be running at 30hz unless you have changed the monitor's setting to HDMI 2.0 (or displayport 1.2)

press menu button and scroll down to Setup to find these options (setup is not visible until you scroll lower than Color option)

By default out of the box when new it is set to HDMI 1.4 and Displayport 1.1 which only support 30hz. Some of the secondhand ones may have already been adjusted to allow 60hz but many have not been I think.

Changing the options will allow 60hz at 4K provided your PC supports it.

      • It's a VA panel which results in not ideal picture quality.

It might be better for gaming, but not general windows use.

        • Yes but I think the 30hz issue is more likely to be the cause of eye strain if a user hasnt enabled 60hz modes.

I'm quite happy with the screen, but colours aren't great when viewing from an angle. Also, it is slow to startup and switch between resolutions (about 8 seconds think)…. but it's a great price.

      • Thanks I did what you suggested, it has helped !
Im also probably use to my 144hz sreen.

      • Good comment/reminder, mine came set to HDMI 2.0 out of the box. Also people should be wary that if your laptop has at best a HDMI 1.4 port, you'll be stuck with 4k@30Hz. I have a usb-c to usb/HDMI hub as well and that could only output 4k@30Hz max too.

  • +4

I bought one of these it's looks like TV from Aldi so if you missed one then you are lucky

  • Good size and price, not great quality for PC use imo if you need accurate colours.

    • Have you tried setting the color mode to sRGB ?

  • Bugger missed out

  • im going to wait till the oled screens come down in price!

  • +1

Cheap IPS 32" 4K Monitor when?

  • +1

I picked up one of these on a previous deal. Same retailer and monitor was 2nd hand (they also sell new). Absolutely no issues.
For the price they are selling them for I wish I bought another one!

  • +2

I got one of these the last time they had it, really good value, its 4k, color is nice, and size is nice too.
I use it to watch 4k youtube stuff on the PC, gaming wise, better to still stick with the 144hz monitors.

  • +4

Some people are never satisfied if a $160 4k monitor isn't enough of a deal. They always find something to complain about.

    • It's an excellent price for a bad product.

I'd rather pay more for IPS

  • +4

Mine just arrived, its in pretty rough condition - lots of scuffs and dents. More concerningly, something inside has come loose and is rattling around.

DisplayPort and HDMI work fine until the USB Hub is connected, but then the image can intermittently cut off. Still trying to figure out what in particular is triggering it.

Have reached out to the seller, will update with resolution.

      • Wouldn't be surprised if you're right :(

Even the generic cardboard box that it came in was barely holding it together, with the tape bulging at the seams.

        • what cables did you get included ?
how is the display and any issues?

do you get any audio distortion with the built in speakers?

          • @pinkybrain: Power + DisplayPort, what about you?

Audio didn't seem to distort - but the speakers are very poor, it sounded very muffled but about what I was expecting.

    • +1

Sorry to hear you got it roughed up mate. I got mine today as well and propped it up for my WFH setup. Got some minor scuffs along the bottom edge and the same rattles which for me ended up being pieces of broken dark grey plastic which I took out. Works well for my current needs but I'll need to do further testing. USB hub and audio works fine for me. Hopefully you get a good resolution, sounds like others on here have had generally good responses from the seller.

      • what cables did you get included?

also is there any audio distortion issues with the built in speakers?

        • Only power cable

Not sure how I would test this? It sounds fine at low and moderate volume but once I start increasing the volume to high I can start to hear distortion.

  • +1

Got mine yesterday, condition isn't great. Lot of scuffs, but is that minor. However, other issues are missing a screw for the stand, 1 dead pixel and 2 cm scratch on the LCD panel itself. Waiting to hear back from the seller.

Cable sthat came with it are a power cord and a displayport cable. Audio seems find, however the volume adjustment is pretty useless, even on 1% it sound like 90%.

    • -1

      Not sure why your complaining

You do know you bought a used product, NOT brand new

      • +3

I bought a used one and wasn't expecting a damaged product.

Anyway, my post wasn't about complaining, it is to share my experience of the condition for other to know.
