Whilst sitting down to tuck into my dinner, my personal cook let me in on a little secret via our encrypted messaging app. He let me know of this incredible offer and told me that this link, https://www.ebay.com.au/e/coupon-offers/20-22-off-refurb-may…, will be the official search link once the offer goes live at 10 am on the 3rd!

Offer Period. This offer commences at 10:00am AEST on 3 May 2023 and ends 23:59PM AEST 3 May 2023 (“Offer Period”). eBay reserves the right to cancel the offer at any time.

Eligibility. This offer is available to eBay Plus members and non-eBay Plus members as set out in clause 4 below.
Conditions This offer entitles you to: non-eBay Plus members to 20% off; and eBay Plus members to an extra 2% off (total 22% off), the pre-coupon purchase price (excluding postage costs) during the Offer Period, up to a maximum discount of $300 per transaction. Enjoy! (and yes the meal was delicious, thanks chef!)

      • +1

It will be OOS by then;)

        • is $299 a good price for refurb?

          • +1

@gusk12: It was way less couple.of months ago like $225 or so after using some discount codes.

          • +2

            @gusk12: My XM4 was 300 maybe 2years ago.

But if can apply further 22%, still attractive.

        • Yup its gone OOS

I've bought 2 refurbished products from Sony and both have been faulty:(

      • :(

      • +3

Have bought twice and both are great.

      • +1

        Same - TV and XM4s

        • +1

What was the fault with your XM4s? I am thinking of ordering the refurb ones so keen to know what went wrong.

          • @findingbargains: Yeah, wouldn't recommend it. I don't know for sure if it's refurb-related, but I'd have returned them otherwise. The right earbud 'pops' a lot during songs and podcasts/audiobooks whenever plosive sounds are emphasised, and it's uncomfortable.

            • +1

@Meconium: Also returned my refurb XM4s as the ANC was absolutely rubbish, wind noise was terrible and they made a loud "thump" noise every time my foot strikes the ground when running (like the ANC was amplifying the foot strike). Returned the first pair, but second pair had all the same issues, so not sure if all XM4s are like this but I found the ANC on them unusable. Shame because I really like the sound quality. Sticking with my $25 QCY T13's for now until I find something with better ANC than the Sony's.

  • EBay discount quite useless as it normally items you don’t want.

    • +15

Beware of your own bubble. It might be items that you don't want, but eBay has over 10 million users in Australia so there'll be items that other people want.

      • +1

        just popped the bubble

Will grab that flesh light I've been considering for a while.

Tested by the seller to ensure functionality.

          • +1

@Switchblade88: Just the tip though right?…. Right?

            • +1

@Serapis: If a refurb seller doesn't test the entirety of the product, in all it's length and girth, then how can I be assured of it's quality?

I certainly don't want it to come ruined. I prefer a much happier ending than that.

              • @Switchblade88:

I certainly don't want it to come ruined.

If the seller tested it fully, it might come with ruined come instead.

Like most sellers of used items , a quick wipe over on the outside, throw it in a box and call it refurbished.

        • +1

hahaha exactly - refurb = spray & wipe

    • I would spend a bit more and buy refurb from Apple. However they don’t sell iPhone refurb

Hopefully they will when 15 release

    • i have bought twice in the past 6 months for friends from 2 different sellers.

from seller one, the device was very good and 94% battery life

from seller two, had to return the device as condition had lots of scratches

good thing is you have 30 day easy return if you don't like the device.

  • Refurbed by who? Is it only certain sellers like the usual Dell Acer etc or anything refurbished, like Walkman players?

    • You can't tell until they release the banner.

This seems to be an invited stores co-fund promo. I.e. The regular 20-22% off promos but limited to Refurb items this time.
Unlike the previous Refurb promo codes that worked on all blue-tick Refurb items.

Very very small volume on the applicable list. Pretty disappointing.
