Sony FE 16-35mm F/2.8 GM Wide Angle Lens $1911.20 Delivered @ digiDirect eBay

DIDI20

Was tempted to pull the trigger on this lens but decided to go with the Sony FE 16-35mm f/4 PZ G Lens instead as it better suits my needs.

However, $1911 for the 16-35mm f/2.8 GM is still the cheapest price around… albeit for a lens that is reportedly due for an update (mk2 version) this year.

You could also price-match at Sony Australia and receive 13% cashback through Cashrewards until the end of today (Wednesday) for an extra ~$250 saving.

  • How do you price-match at Sony Australia and get cashreward?

    • To price-match at Sony Australia, you can live-chat from their site.

Depending on the agent, they might refuse as eBay coupon is required to get the price.

      • Shouldn't be too hard though. I've actually never had anyone reject an eBay coupon price match and I've probably submitted dozens of requests.

        • Was just based on their T&C's, never actually price-matched at Sony before.

          Exclusions:

          • Cashback, credit card/payment method rebates and coupon offers (eg: cashback or reduced price requiring a coupon or electronic codewords);
          • @RichardL: Yes their T&Cs say that but they completely disregard it in practice, have done it for years.

    • I just did. Got approved in 10 mins. Cashback tracked at $225

  • Nice coffee cup

  • Excellent lens and price. I have one.

  • +1

Sony FE 16-35mm f/4 PZ G Lens Is fantastic!

    • Awesome! 98% of the shots I take are landscapes at usually F8-16, so I think it better suits my purpose considering it's weight & the difference in cost (and possible resale value once the 16-35 f/2.8 MK2 is released).

  • Any deal for 70-200 GM2? thanks

    • Never any stock and super popular

  • its a good lens, versatile than 24-70 to me.
    I also asked for a price match on 50 1.4 gm, &16xx.

    • To their credit, they've always accepted price matches I've submitted… even when using eBay Plus codes, or even when an item isn't currently in stock but available on back-order. Combined with the frequent 10-13% cashback & fast postage, it's a no-brainier.

  • Last time I purchased the Sony A7IV from Sony Store after a price match (plus Cashrewards), my cashback was rejected so I doubt this will go through now. Not something we should bank on?

    • My Sony A7IV purchase tracked (at 10% iirc) and was paid out so you should definitely follow that up!

      • I did… and this is what Cash rewards had to say:

I have investigated your purchase in the store's system and regret to inform you that Sony has declined your cashback. Just like you, we haven't received any payment for this sale.

  • Purchased yesterday, my cash back has not been tracked
