  • Swear to god we got ours for like $400ish a couple of years ago? Or maybe that was the previous model?

EDIT: Must've been something like this. Different model?

    • Same model; previous deal was double stacking discount.

  • I have one of these and the "link" may as well not exist with zero Dyson support available… Other than that, pretty good product, but if you are looking for the app features, don't count on it.

    • Had absolutely zero problem with mine for 2 years.

  • Hows the noise on this one. Previous models were noisy

    • Noisey-ish at the highest setting. Comfortable volume at speed 4-6.

  • How does this compare to the aircon that you have inside of an apartment? Is it more cost effective?

    • +1

The cooling element is only a fan, doesn't 'cool' in the same way as an aircon.

    • Nothing is more efficient than full size aircon.

The trick is to just get used to a few degrees warmer (say, 25), and use a DC pedestal fan to feel cool.

Depending on how old the AC is, that 2 degrees can make a world of difference in power use compared to a simple floor fan.

  • The more expensive version is HEPA 13. Not sure what the difference is, though.

    • Higher the number, smaller the particles.

Unless you have a health condition, even basic non-hepa filtering will reduce visible dust and pollen.

      • OK, but what is 'Glass HEPA Media' ?

I can't see a number on the cheaper unit.

        • Its a hepa filter. They're made of fiberglass.

Cheaper will be the lowest rating if they dont say; 10? I think?

          • @MasterScythe: OK, cheers.

Looking at each marketing blurb, they both say .1 microns.

Hepa 13 claims '99.95% of particles as small as 0.1 microns. A layer of activated carbon also removes odours and gases including VOCs'

  • Any know if there are cheaper filter replacements.
    Dyson sells them $99

  • How is the heating work on this? Can set temp and maintain automatically, for how long?

    • till summer comes.

Lol my old housemate got swindled into buying one of these. He thought it would actually "cool". Bruh it's an overpriced fan. What a moron
