EDIT - Enter the coupo code "10THANKYOU" before purchasing for 90c games ;)
thanks to TheAviator1992 for the code!

EDIT 2 - Will not let me change web address as it is not from "shop.ubi" domain. Here's a more informative link though:

Cheers for the 100th like guys! (:

  • thanks got hawx2 for a buck!

too bad it doesn't activate over steam or origin

    • +4

Does Ubisoft have their own Steam-like service? I really could do with fewer of those. EA and Blizzard have their own. Soon there will be a different client you'll need for every publisher. No thanks.

      • +2

        Yeah they do, Uplay.

        • Yeah and they even have uplay on the ps3 :(

GOt PS3 version of Ghost Recon: FS and after launching game it has to log on to the ubisoft (uplay) servers = ghey. The reason I got the PS3 version is because I didn't want that BS.

        • PC versions have an offline mode just FYI. You only have to log into Uplay once to activate the key then you can play in offline mode every other time.

      • Absolutely. Steam to me is my all in one. Stuff the others!

        • They wont put an offer this good on Steam because they want 30% of the revenues. Same as the Apple tax.

Indie developers will put up with that just to have the exposure of being on the platform. The major publishers won't though.

I thought I missed out when the game was $2.50 during the steam Summer Sale a few weeks back but now I'm laughing. Thanks for the deal, you earnt that 100th like.

  • Awesome deals. Thanks for sharing.

  • +1

Been wanting to pay Settlers 7 for a bit but everywhere I look it is always 'full price'. Have to see how low they go.

  • Awesome! Will definitely be getting From Dust and Driver. I'll have to see what the other two are as well.

    • +2

From Dust is really short and quite boring. But for $1, can't go wrong I guess

    • Yep, I have to echo Domingo about 'From Dust' being quite short. The single player is almost like just a tutorial. Still, I enjoyed it. And it's only a dollar. :)

    • +1

I actually really liked From Dust. I picked it up from the Steam "Summer" sale for $3.74. Got around 14 hours out of it, myself. Great value entertainment for ~27c per hour, and this is only about 1/4 of that price! :)

      • I clocked the main game it in under 4 hours and completed the challenges in about 2 more .. was quite disappointed on its low difficulty and lack of variety.

  • +4

just get them all, for $1 you can't go wrong

  • Just remember you need to download them within 30 days, or at least that's how it worked back when the website glitched and gave everyone free games.

    • ahhh memories.

    • hmmm, didnt want another client but if thats the case, where its 30 days only certianly dont want to get this cruddy client!

heroes VI for 10 bux will be tempting, but it would have to register though steam…

      • Hero vi is 17.98 in my cart how do you get it down to $10?

    • +2

Still the case (unless you buy the extended download service)
"If your order contains downloadable software and you have not purchased our Extended Download Service (EDS), you have 30 days to download your purchase. After you download we suggest you save a copy of the downloaded file on an external drive, CD, DVD, or some other storage medium in the event you have computer problems or the downloaded file becomes damaged or corrupt."

      • +1

i think that will be their downfall… thats why i like steam so much…wonder how long until they change it… cant imagine it being sucessful being so restrictive.

    • +2

I've been trying to chase up more info about this 30 day limit and haven't found any word on it on the email receipt that they sent me, nor in the instructions for downloading and installing the game.

Considering this, I've been trying to find official info on how to save the installer files to media but haven't found any instructions on doing so.

Can any of you folks point me in the right direction?

  • will be getting driver and silent hunter, not sure about the others

    • +1

      wow, so much hate

  • +1

Has anyone managed to buy anything? I keep getting a 'payment authorised failed' on both credit card and paypal…

    • +1

I just used paypal 1 min ago and worked fine for me.

    • I just tried with PayPal got that error tried with card got the errror then tried with bpay and got the error. Probably a catch 22 of the site that you can only buy the $1 game if you add another game to cart at the same time as $1 is probably too little for their payment system to process. Sucks because I wanted hawx 2. Reply back if you find a solution.

    • Think we might have to neg this deal, doesn't work for Australians. I tried on day 1 to get hawx for $1 and got payment authorization failed. Today I wanted prince of Persia so created a brand new uplay account and all 3 payment methods gave that message still. Don't understand how bpay could fail to authorize =/

      • +3

i was australian last time i looked, and both the $1 deals have worked for me, but i haven't tried the other discounted software.

      • +3

        Whoa, don't neg.
Worked fine for me, I've purchased both games now using Paypal.
Have you guys tried my solutions below?

Make sure if credit card that your Ubi store account has the same address as your CC.
If Paypal make sure the email address you signed up with Ubi is the same as the one registered in Paypal
        Shouldn't have any issues after that… hopefully…

      • I too can confirm that it worked fine for me and I'm Australian and located in Australia :p. Paid both times with PayPal directly (funds already in PayPal account).

  • Hey guys, is that the latest Heroes version? Sounds great!

  • Awesome, Friday should be good - Assassin's Creed and Prince of Persia series!

Uhh guys, do we have to buy from Ubisoft's website or can we get it through Steam?

  • Heres hoping that Uplay does not stuff up my already installed games like Steam did.

Non Steam activated games bargains are usually hard to come by so thanks heaps, Madic74.

  • Nice deal. Still remember the Store Glitch deal from last time :) http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/41279?page=8

  • +3

Am I doing something wrong or is Anno 2070 not quite 75% off?

    • +1

yeah it works out at 60% at my end

  • +1

great post - not sure how much i'll play the others, but definitely want Driver SF. At $1 i'll grab them all. Thanks.

  • cool beans, it is not really a deal in case of anno2070,i paid less than $20 a few month ago.

  • Driver San Francisco is an amazing game, which is even more amazing at $1.

    Great deal.

  • just me or was hawxs 2 the only thing for $1?

    • +7

      facepalm just reread OZB post
      nevermind me

  • Good deal.

  • +1

Yep good deal. But their privacy policy is the worst I've seen, not because of the terms and conditions but because apparently Ubisoft isn't familiar with the concept of paragraphs

  • at least they fixed the remote trojan-type situation late july

  • +1

why do you have to give them your total address, name and other info to pay by PayPal???

  • so to backup this game for use if i need to re-install windows, i just backup the game directory once installed? then copy it back to the same directory if i reformat?

    • You could just torrent it and input your cd-key when installing. I would not be concerned at all about backing up the original files from the Uplay client.

      • -1

Ubisoft does not let you install it more than 3 times, anyway, so if you need to re-install windows more than twice, no more game for you.

  • +13

Folks, just remember to enter the coupon code "10THANKYOU" before purchasing. Instead of paying $1 for HAWX, I paid just 90c! True OzBargainer if you ask me :P

Thanks OP for letting us know about this deal. Might be a good deal to add the coupon code to the top so people know about it :)

    • TOO LATE!

does that code apply to the others as well? and how did you get it?

      • +1

        TheAviator has his ways :P

Nah just found it online. Not sure if it applies to others but all I bought was HAWX and if it applied on something cheap like that would probably apply on the more expensive games too. Looking forward to using it for the next few games as well :)

    • +6

Thanks champ. I was umming and ahhing about whether I'd have time to play these but the coupon you mentioned lowered the psychological barrier to an acceptable level

      • +5

I agree. For $1 it's a bit iffy, but 90cents represents awesome value

    • Thank you! Used it today for "From Dust".
Yeah, sure it is a terrible PC port but at 90c you can't go wrong.

  • EDIT: NVM :)

    • HeHEhe, edited before I got to comment
      :P

Ubisoft has really terrible customer service. I purchased a game for $10 and spent 3 months of fighting with their customer service, taking photos of the box and serial number, as well as the receipt. They take 2-3 weeks to reply after each time I tried to update my claim.

The big problem is their DRM sucks. Basically, I would suggest you only buy a Ubisoft product if you don't mind losing the money you pay. It's a gamble. If the game doesn't work, you will never get it to work. I have lost $10 and I don't mind telling you not to ever buy a Ubisoft game.

    • +3

Not a sufficient reason to neg this deal…

    • You went through all that trouble for $10? Lol…

      • +7

A true OzBarg'er would fight to the death for 50c…

  • there DL site is very slow, yawn will leave on overnight.

  • +1

any comments on from dust being steam compatable?

    • Ummm… I don't think it will be, however if it does work on steam let me know!

    • it's not sadly

      • Thanks for that.

  • +2

i bought HAWX 2 yesterday using paypal but didnt manage to get an email confirming the purchase? did anyone else experience this?

  • hmmm i'm getting server error after trying to enter my payment details, will try again later.

    • Server error (Crash?) or Payment error? (Refused transaction?)
      If server, try again later
If payment - Make sure if credit card that your Ubi store account has the same address as your CC.
If Paypal make sure the email address you signed up with Ubi is the same as the one registered in Paypal
      Shouldn't have any issues after that… hopefully…

      :)

      • nope, just comes up with server error, tried using a different browser and that didn't work, wondering if i should try using another account.

edit: just found some additional lines of text that were colored white.. (great site design there)

        Error:

Your data was not saved. Please try again. We apologise for this inconvenience.

        Error Number: SYS_000006

        • You trying from work? Wondering if it is blocked… If not…Ahh…. ok…. umm…
OH! WHAT THE HELL IS THAT BEHIND YOU!?!?
          runs away

        • Funny thing is that it worked yesterday.

Made a new account and it worked. must have been something to do with my the saved payment details.

  • Can't seem to add more than one quantity to my basket… is that one of the restrictions?

    • Being $1 I'm sure you can only add 1 to your basket.
You could try another purchase after making the first purchase? Or create yourself X number of Ubi accounts.
      :P

  • I keep getting:

    Payment Authorisation Failed

I've tried paypal and CC to no avail.
God, even their store is a PITA.

    • Did you try what I suggested above?

      • Yeah, everything matches but it still doesn't work.
I've sent them a message through the site though so hopefully they'll fix it before the deal expires.

      • +1

I have tried changing all the details on my account to match my debit card (they already did anyway) - I tried setting my city to my suburb, tried creating an entirely new ubi account with the same email as my paypal. Still rejects card, paypal & even BPAY most confusingly. How can BPAY authorisation fail ????

Sent support an email but doubt they will reply, such a broken storefront.

grabbed From Dust now too, 90c well spent - although i could have bought at least two full priced chuppa chups for that so it makes you think.

    • the chuppa chups that got away.

  • I also bought Assassin's Creed: Revelations for $13.50 after the discount code, cheapest I could find. Or I just got ripped off? My first post :) Thanks

  • I bought yesterday H.A.W.X 2 and today from dust, paid with paypal, but havent got anything yet, both times it has mentioned, you will receive an email shortly with information. The money also hasnt been deducted from paypal. WTH

    • I managed to receive my email less than 2 minutes after I paid. Hope your issue gets sorted out.

  • Great find OP and TheAviator1992! I've picked up HAWX 2 and From Dust. Will be getting Silent Hunter 5 and Driver: San Fran over the next two days too. Can't go wrong for 90 cents each :)

  • +3

Can OP or a moderator/admin please change the deal URL to this:
    http://newsletter.ubisoft.com/en-au/2012/08/09_Uplay/09_Upla…

  • For everyone buying From Dust, this is a must:
    http://blog.gib.me/2011/08/18/from-dust-startup-hook/

Removes the 30fps limit and increases it to 120. The game feels so much better. Might even be worth adding to OP since so many people are commenting that they bought it ;)

    • Thanks for that.
Is there anything that fixes the horrible controls? It's like trying to play snake with a mouse.
Or is using a controller the only option?

      • Sorry actually reading the comments on the post this no longer works as it hasn't been updated for a new patch =(

  • Anyone know if the 30 day download time is right? I can't see anything on the website or the email for my order about it

    Thanks

    • Pretty sure that only applied on their old system. Now they have a new client similar to steam and each origin so you can download as many times as you want.

  • If anyone want's to download and install the latest patch for Silent Hunter 5 v1.2 (Collector's Edition), see the link to download: http://www.gamefront.com/files/16436479/Silent_Hunter_5_v1_2…

  • To view the Silent Hunter 5: Battle of the Atlantic Official Guide it's located in: C:\Ubisoft\Silent Hunter 5\data\LngGameData\Collectors\Bible\English

For those interested in buying Might and Magic Heroes VI you might want to use a VPN or something to access the Ubisoft EMEA store. I'm overseas at the moment and the link defaulted to that store and showed that the game is only 9 Euro as opposed to $20.98 AUD.

In addition, the 10THANKYOU coupon code also works, so I managed to checkout the game for 8.10 Euro which according to Google is around $9.60 AUD. I used my 28 Degrees Mastercard which means no foreign exchange bank charge, either way I think you are still much better off than $20.98 that you pay on the AU store.

    • How you do that VPN ?

  • Guys, I've never used the Uplay client before…if I format my computer, will they let me download it again for free or will I have to buy it again?

Another thing, once downloaded, is there a file we can burn on a disc so that if we reformat later on, we can just install from the disc instead of waiting to download the whole thing again?

    • From my experience in the past what you downloaded was basically what you would get on a disc if you bought it from a shop. So definitely possible to backup.

But with the new client I'm not sure how it works.

  • +1

Yes, if you reformat you will still be able to download it again as they are purchased onto your Uplay account, this is the same with Steam and Origin. Also you can login to your Uplay account on a different pc's and install the games there too. As for burning the files on to a disc not sure how to do that, probably can be done.

    • +1

that's not correct according to their site, can you site a link to your reply? Their site says there are 30 days to download the file then you're on your own. Or you can purchase the extended download service but even that tops out at 2 years anyway. So yes, back up your files.
