    10% or GTFO

    • Lol, its a valid argument but harsh!

    • +2

      Straight to the point.

Not screwing around with digital cards given how hard Blackhawk make it for anything under 10%.

    • Agree!

      • You should be happily retired with all the people that will buy all day at 10% then :)

      • Ok 30% for AirBnB… where is it?

    • Many OzBargainers are willing to get scammed from randoms here for a lot less.

  • Thanks OP. But nah, not appealing at all

  • Keep in mind that they don’t always work at some of the retailers listed on the card, can’t use them on Kogan at the moment for example.

  • What a tease at 8%, variable loading, apple wallet ultimate cards are plusses still tho.

    • I have been trying unsuccessfully to add Ultimate Gift Cards to ApplePay for last 2 weeks. Has worked fine until recently for physical gift cards. Bought several in the last Coles promo but can't add to wallet

      From Ultimate Gift Cards website:

To add your Ultimate eGift Card to Apple, Google or Samsung Pay wallets, use the ‘add card manually’ feature on your device’s digital wallet, enter the Card Number, Expiry Date and CVV of your card, and then the name, address and telephone number used for your card’s registration. We are actively working on a solution for the ‘Add to wallet’ feature and hope to have it fixed soon. We apologise for the inconvenience.

      • +1

Hi spacecowboy, I work for Giftz so keeping an eye on this thread, you should be able to add them manually by typing the card numbers in, is that not working?

        • Not it says invalid card details. I am putting all details in correctly as have done this before with physical Ultimate Gift cards bought from several previous deals. But now getting 'invalid card details' message. I look up card number on Ultimate website & cards are showing full balance of funds.

          • @spacecowboy: Can you please message me the best contact details for you and I will get support for you to solve this issue!

          • @spacecowboy: Experiencing literally this right now, but on a different card not from giftz.com.au. Ultimate active and wellness card from blackhawk still.

            • @Pat Rick: Pat Rick, please message me the best contact details for you and I will get support for you to solve this issue!

          • @spacecowboy: I m having same problem as well anyone knows how to fix this. When I add gifts cards on my wallet. It’s showing me it’s invalid.

      • That message has been there since last year if not longer, I think it is likely to be there permanently.

  • Can't wait

these are great at converting to cash especially large denominations !!!

    • How'd you convert them into cash?

      • Buying them @ 8% discount and selling them on market place @ 15% discount ^v^ in order to turn into cash

        • why do you need all this to turn into cash?

        • +1

          You like losing money?

          • @a1k: I am only replying to Poor Ass. I won't be buying GC with the view of selling them for cash. If I buy, I use them

            • @JCRALLYART: actually it's not selling them for profit it's actually using them for purchases and a method that it ends up in your bank account or drawing it out in cash from a card and not like buying something and getting a refund either

Generally I use the GCs for purchasing goods but knowing that I can cash out is another option I have but requires bit of effort

  • +1

Ultimate cards come at 10% at coles and WOW often
However these are hit and miss with coles strict on 5 cards max and they run out easily
Also this one you can order $1000 increments

    • I did get one $1000 card. But if my purchase item is $400 for example, how does the remainder balance work?

      • You will have $600 left over for another purchase(s) or for exchange(s) for gift cards from some participating retailers.

            • @Gracemia44: It could be because the links in the OP’s table take you to ultimategiftcards.com.au

I’ve asked OP to fix it, but it is not their fault, because I am the one who puts the table together!!

  • Is exchanging these to egift card for JB usually instant? Will it work with the current jb 10% extra discount https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/774956?

    • +4

You cannot exchange Ultimate gift cards for JB Hi-Fi gift cards via the Ultimate gift card website. That has not been possible since November 2021.

You can directly redeem 1x Ultimate (Visa) gift card on the JB Hi-Fi website, although Riskified - JB Hi-Fi's third-party tool for determining whether a transaction is potentially fraudulent - can sometimes be overzealous and cancel a transaction where you use an Ultimate gift card as a payment method…

If you want to turn your Ultimate gift card into a JB Hi-Fi gift card (because you want to redeem more than 1x Ultimate gift card in one online transaction), here are some tips:

      • If you go through the JB Hi-Fi website, it may or may not let you purchase a JB Hi-Fi gift card if you directly enter the Ultimate Everyone gift card into the credit/debit card section of the checkout. It really depends on whether Riskified will let you do this. If it lets you purchase one gift card, it should let you purchase a second gift card using a second different Ultimate Everyone gift card on the same day, but it will block you from making a third purchase on the same day.

      • If you go through the JB Hi-Fi website on an Apple device and then pay via Apple Pay (ensuring you select the Ultimate Everyone gift card as the payment card), you should have more success than if you entered the Ultimate Everyone gift card directly into the credit/debit card section.

      • If you go to a physical JB Hi-Fi store, you should be fine, as there should be nothing in JB Hi-Fi’s checkout system to stop you from using Ultimate gift cards to pay for JB Hi-Fi gift cards. However, you will need to add the Ultimate Everyone gift card to a supported mobile wallet first before you can make a payment instore. You will need to tell the staff member you want to pay by card (or Visa card), then tap your device against the EFTPOS terminal. However, you may run into a staff member who will insist that you cannot use any gift cards to purchase JB Hi-Fi gift cards, so be mindful of that.

You can redeem Ultimate gift cards and JB Hi-Fi gift cards in conjunction with the coupon code you linked earlier.

  • how to use egift card in office works?

    • +3

      Instore

You need to add the Ultimate eGift Card as a debit/credit/payment card to a supported mobile wallet first (i.e. Apple Pay, Google Wallet, Samsung Wallet). Once you are at the store, you need to tell the staff member you want to use a Card as a payment method, the tap your mobile wallet against the EFTPOS terminal. If you need to do split payments (because the Ultimate gift card does not have sufficient balance to cover the amount owed), tell the staff you want to do split payments and tell them the exact amount you want to redeem. (You may run into a staff member who insists you cannot do split payments, but that is the staff limiting you, not the POS system.)

      Online

You can only redeem a maximum of 1x Ultimate eGift Card on the Officeworks website, because these gift cards operate on the Visa network, and Officeworks’ website will only let you use 1x Visa card in one online transaction.

You enter the Ultimate eGift Card’s cardholder name, 16 digit card number, expiry date and CVV2 into the Credit/Debit Card section of the online checkout.

I will warn you that I have heard reports in the last couple of months where acceptance of Ultimate gift cards on the Officeworks website has been really inconsistent, so do not be surprised if your payment is declined. If that happens, I would call the Officeworks sales team and see if they can help…

      Over the phone

I am not sure if you can use an Ultimate gift card for a phone sale at 1300 OFFICE. If you can, it will pretty much be similar to online payments. I’m sure someone more enlightened than me can shed light on how successful (or not) they have been trying to use an Ultimate gift card for a sale on 1300 OFFICE…

  • Any risk of delayed delivery of the gift card?
Any risk of being rejected by JB's checkout?

I can never remember which of the two gift card companies is problematic

For a $675 denomination (just in case bigger amounts are riskier).

    • +2

Any risk of delayed delivery of the gift card?

      From my personal experience, no.

Giftz.com.au should let you within about three minutes whether they will accept or reject your order.

      • If your order is accepted, it will take another 3-5 minutes before the gift card is dispatched to you. Registering the gift card can take another couple of minutes, but then it is ready for use.

      • If your order is rejected, you will get an email about it, and it will ask you to try again with some suggestions (e.g. try a different card, give a mobile phone number, etc).

Any risk of being rejected by JB's checkout?

      Yes.

Riskified - JB Hi-Fi's third-party tool for determining whether a transaction is potentially fraudulent - can sometimes be overzealous and cancel a transaction where you use an Ultimate gift card as a payment method. This is not Blackhawk Network’s problem, this is JB Hi-Fi’s problem.

The issue is that I don’t think Riskified can distinguish between an Ultimate gift card and another type of prepaid gift card (e.g. Activ Visa gift card), so it will simply see a prepaid gift card being redeemed and is likely to flag it, due to prepaid gift cards not supporting security features (e.g. 3-D Secure, which allows JB Hi-Fi’s payment processor to ask the card issuer to verify that the registered cardholder is the one who is placing the order).

If you place an online order with JB Hi-Fi and it is rejected, you should call JB Hi-Fi’s sales team and see if they can fix it from their end to let your order go through.

      • +1

        Thanks. Scary!

        • Let us know how you go if you take the GC route please!

          • @poppingtags: Gave it a go. Won't know if rejected immediately though (From one previous order, I think riskified can reject an order after confirmation.. Like days after? @Wookiemonster might know)

            • @justtoreply: Someone else on the Pixel thread confirmed that their order went through, so hopefully its all good :)

            • @justtoreply: I think Riskified steps in and rejects it between a few minutes and an hour after order confirmation? I don’t have any recent experience though…

              (The tag didn’t work, btw.)

  • Never used this gift card before, can I add an item to the shipping card, then enter the ultimate gift card details to pay for the item? Or I have to exchange ultimate ultimate with jbhifi gift card first? Thanks

    • +1

can I add an item to the shipping card, the enter the ultimate gift card to pay?

Yes. Make sure you enter the Ultimate gift card’s details into the Debit/Credit Card section of the online checkout, because Ultimate gift cards operate on the Visa network, and JB Hi-Fi treats them as Visa cards.

It I have to exchange ultimate to jbhifi gift card first?

Generally, no, because JB Hi-Fi will accept Ultimate gift cards on their website. The problem is that they can only accept 1x Ultimate gift card in one online transaction. If you want to use more than one Ultimate gift card in one online transaction, you will need to do one of two things:

      • Purchase a JB Hi-Fi gift card to cover the difference, or

      • Convert your Ultimate gift card into a JB Hi-Fi gift card (and I talk about how you can do it here), then use that JB Hi-Fi gift card in conjunction with PayPal or a debit/credit/prepaid card.

        Thanks a lot 👍

Thanks OP. Booked some flights to Tokyo today and was about to book via AirBnb!

  • Is anyone else getting "promotion code not valid"?

    • Which website are you on when you are trying to apply the coupon code?

      • Giftz.com.au

      • ultimategiftcards.com.au

      • +1

Thank you! was on the wrong site!

  • It’s live guys

  • Has anybody been successful? Always getting transaction declined with amount $675. Using Giftz.com.au website

    • Yes just bought the ultimate card $1000 works great

      • Thanks! Thought I could buy just $675. Probably has to be $1k.

    • I purchased a $330 Ultimate Home gift card with no issues.

      • +1

Thanks! Finally, it worked for me after I used another credit card. Must have been a bank issue.

    • I bought the ultimate $674.20 works great, now I have 10 cents left, wonder what I can buy with 10c

      • +3

Save it for the next time you are instore at a participating retailer?

If you feel bad redeeming $0.10 from a gift card, keep in mind one time I redeemed $0.01 from an Ultimate gift card at JB Hi-Fi, because that gift card had $0.01 left on it… and the staff member emphatically said that I should be using up every last damn cent on my gift cards!

  • +1

If I were to purchase 3x $1000 gift cards to buy a MacBook pro in store at jb would there be any issues doing a split payment like that? Don't want to be stuck with 2 extra gift cards that I end up needing to spend on something else and not getting as big of a discount as I've planned lol

    • +3

Considering you mention instore, the only issue I foresee is if you are served by a staff member who refuses to let you do split payments. That would be highly unusual, because JB Hi-Fi’s instore POS system should let you do split payments.

If you were wondering, the OzBargain redemption record is 81 (and that was for a $6,381 purchase).

Just make sure you are storing the three Ultimate gift cards as a payment card on your mobile wallet of choice, and you tell the staff member you want to use three separate Visa cards (or Ultimate gift cards) as payment methods and make sure you tell them the correct available balance for each Ultimate gift card. If you instead say you want to redeem gift cards, the staff member may think you want to redeem a JB Hi-Fi gift card, which is not true for your case.

      • +1
        1. That's actually an amazing effort haha
Thanks for the help Wookie! Will purchase some gift cards then
  • Can you use the Ultimate gift card at good guys commercial? Or just the normal good guys?

    • If I am not wrong only normal but you could try

    • +1

According to this conversation, it is still possible to use 1x Ultimate gift card on the TGG Commercial website.

If you want to use more than 1x Ultimate gift card and you want to access TGG Commercial pricing, you will need to have the sales order sent to a physical TGG store and pay for the order there. Have a look at this comment for more information.

      • +1

You are the MVP! I tried googling but of course doesn't help much!

  • +1

Thanks OP. Bought AirBnb cards for about $500 for a trip I would have booked anyway.

  • Got hit with a cash advance fee using a Commbank Mastercard last time. Be careful.

  • +1

Got my money locked in. Please avoid if you can in every possible way. I wanted to buy something off JB Hi-FI and they keep cancelling the order within 5 seconds due to failed verification process.

    • Did you put the ultimate gift card in the credit card section? Some have been accidentally putting it in the gift card section, then realised it doesn't work there.

      • yes absolutely in the credit card section

        • Ok, JB Hi-Fi team verification team was helpful, a bit of anxiety as I wasn't sure if they would respond before the sale ends but they did, resolved and order placed :)

  • Thanks OP, purchased 2 Ultimate gift cards for a purchase from The Good Guys.

    Added to Apple Wallet manually.

Hopefully works smoothly in store at time of payment.

    • It will work perfectly I did the same 👍🏽

  • Your payment details couldn’t be verified. Check your card details and try again with JB.

This is with Credit or debit card option.

Edit: got it working, don't copy and paste the number from the card screen, just type it in.

  • I normally claim my phones via salary sacrifice. Can anyone tell me, if I use an ultimate gift card, does the invoice show the payment method? Would I be able to claim salary sacrifice still? If someone can sent me a redacted copy of their JB HiFi invoice after they purchased with an ultimate gift card, that'd be awesome.

    • It just shows that you paid with a bunch of VISA cards.

In my girlfriend's case, it was 49 (pesky $50 denominations)

    • All done. I suppose invoice will come through once item is shipped.

    • it shows up as Visa Prepaid which you can claim salary sacrifice if the phone was for business use with your supervisor making a declaration on your behalf

  • +1

    Coles MasterCard not working!

  • I just got an ultimate him card ($75). Activated everything and went to make a purchase on Kayo. It is getting declined everytime. Has anyone had any experience with this?

    • If you check the webpage for the Ultimate Him gift card on the Ultimate gift card website and flick through the three different redemption options, it says Kayo is an exchange-only partner (i.e. you cannot use your Ultimate gift card directly on Kayo's website). That means you need to go through Ultimate gift cards' exchange portal and exchange your Ultimate Him gift card for a digital Kayo gift card.

      • It only has the Binge option there. I realise they are the same company, would that be the appropriate choice?

        • The Binge website says yes.

Please note that I do not have personal experience with this, so I cannot confirm myself whether the Binge website is correct.

          • +1

@WookieMonster: Sorry disregard the earlier comment, after refreshing the page the streammotion option was there. Thanks for the help, much appreciated.
