  I have trouble with card accepting at JB HiFi. Have tried both in store and online. For in store, they were accepting cards with Bar code only and this being an egift card, there is no bar code. Following instruction to use online, as there is no name on the gift card, the transaction could not be processed as the card number and name do not match. Had an online chat with JB and they could not resolve it and told to contact Ultimate and as usual they do not have a contact centre, so old fashion email and the wait continues.
  There is no number for giftz to contact and resolve. I messaged the associated person, but he has not replied yet.
  Be mindful….

    If you have the google wallet, there is a section you can add the gift cards. You can try adding the card no. and it creates the barcoded giftcard. you can try that. You still need to punch in your pin code/ccv code etc..

    For in store, they were accepting cards with Bar code only and this being an egift card, there is no bar code.

    If you have a JB Hi-Fi gift card, you redeem it instore using the barcode (or the magstripe on the physical JB Hi-Fi gift card).

    The issue is that you have an Ultimate gift card, not a JB Hi-Fi gift card. Ultimate gift cards operate on the Visa network, so you need to redeem it like a Visa card (i.e. by telling the staff that you have a Visa card and then tap your mobile wallet against the EFTPOS terminal). If you cannot add your Ultimate gift card as a payment card onto a supported mobile wallet, you cannot redeem it instore.

    Following instruction to use online, as there is no name on the gift card, the transaction could not be processed as the card number and name do not match.

    JB Hi-Fi is somewhat inconsistent accepting an Ultimate gift card on their website, because Riskified - their third-party tool for determining whether a transaction is likely to be fraudulent - can be overzealous and simply refuse to process transactions. However, considering you had to provide a cardholder name when registering the gift card, you should be using that as the name on JB Hi-Fi’s website. Is there a chance the 16 digit gift card number or the cardholder name you provided did not match what is recorded for the Ultimate gift card?

  I did struggle quite a bit with the Ultimate gift card and Google Wallet :(. After 10 minutes of waiting for the giftz email and setting up an 'MyPrepaidCentre-accout', I have added the Ultimate Everyone details into Google Wallet (manually as Visa card - numbers checked several times) but was not able to pay in store via tap at JB-Hifi. In wallet under details it shows an error message "To use your card online, verify card info" with an UPDATE-button. In there I have tried to confirm the Security code but only get error "An unexpected error has occurred. Please try again later." Had to leave the shop without new product.
  Have now purchased 2x 500$ JB Hifi Gift cards (by manually typing in the numbers - google wallet would complain about the security code again) with a $1000 Ultimate card (in one transaction). Gift cards arrived after 20 minutes via email. Was finally able, on the last night of clickfenzy, to place my order for store pickup.

    Is there a particular reason you want to exchange an Ultimate Everyone gift card for a TGG gift card? If it is because you want to spend more than the available balance on a purchase on the TGG online store (and not TGG Commercial), there are some options:

    • Purchase a maximum of two TGG gift cards - whether via the True Rewards portal on the TGG website, at a physical TGG store, a third-party gift card portal (e.g. Prezzee, Giftcards.com.au, Cashrewards) or through discounted gift card portals - and then redeem that in conjunction with your Ultimate Everyone gift card. Keep in mind that the TGG website will redeem TGG gift cards first, and the Ultimate Everyone gift card will be redeemed last, so make sure you choose the correct denomination for the one or two TGG gift cards.

    • Go to a physical TGG store and purchase the item you want, as TGG’s instore POS system will let you split payments between multiple cards, including multiple Ultimate gift cards. (Yes, I am assuming you live near a physical TGG store you can easily get to, but you have not indicated whether or not this is the case, so I will throw this suggestion in anyway.)

    • Call the TGG sales line and see whether you can purchase a TGG gift card over the phone. Alternatively, call them to see whether you can pay over the phone using an Ultimate Everyone gift card and another card (or TGG gift card).

    I will note that Ultimate gift cards (and TCN gift cards) are quirky, because they do not behave in the same way as store-specific gift cards, so it pays to look at the issuer’s website (in your case, the Ultimate Everyone gift card webpage) before committing to purchase any Ultimate (or TCN) gift cards.

      Thanks mate. I am buying some stuff for which tgg sales team does the price match and send me the payment link. I can use upto 2 gift card to make that payment. Thats why bought the ultimate everyone gc thinking i can exchange it for tgg. But now i cant and tgg payment link is not accepting the ultimate gc details. They need the tgg gift card only.

        Ultimate Everyone gift cards are actually prepaid Visa gift cards, so you redeem them like any other Visa card (in other words, in the credit/debit card section of the online checkout, not the section where you redeem a TGG gift card).

        As I hinted in the comment above, you can only redeem a maximum of one Ultimate Everyone gift card in one transaction on the TGG online store.

    You cannot do split payments between multiple credit/debit/prepaid cards on the JB Hi-Fi website, because their website can only handle 1x credit/debit/prepaid card per online transaction. When you attempt to make a payment with your Ultimate gift card, you are attempting to charge $749 onto a card with only $403 on it.

    You have two options if you want to complete the purchase online:

    • Convert your $403 Ultimate gift card into a $403 JB Hi-Fi gift card. (You can read more about this here.)

    • Use your credit card to purchase one or more JB Hi-Fi gift cards to cover the cost of the difference between the item cost and the balance of your Ultimate gift card.

    You can use an unlimited number of JB Hi-Fi gift cards in conjunction with a credit card on JB Hi-Fi online.
