Almost like it got leaked last night. Good one ISP.

    • +1

Damn, that’s crazy. I wonder who leaked it 🤔

      • Clearly someone with intel at Click Frenzy.

        • +5

          Why not amd?

        • +3

Clearly someone with intel at Click Frenzy.

Shhhh we went over this last night.

          • +2

@Clear: Sorry. I almost spilt the beans my chef made for breakfast.

    • Coulda sworn I saw this yesterday when looking at 27" monitors for work yesterday, overlooked it though as I don't need a 'gaming' monitor

  • +1

I'll take one for them ! Thankyou champion!

    • Just received - super fast delivery on this one. Good job Scorptec.

  • +1

    Thanks OP snagged one!

  • +1

    Snagged 2, cheers

    • Really? I can't get the discount on the second monitor. I know I could create a second account, but I dunno if they would cancel my orders if I did.

      • One sent home, other to the post office ;)

The one sent home was my full name, the other was X Last name.

        • What address do you put for the post office? How do you collect it without your full name matching the id?

          • @Agret: Parcel Collect, having my first name initial with my full last name matching my ID which matches the parcel collect address owner.

            • @AircraftFreight: Oh if it's parcel collect that's a bit different since you just use your phone to open the locker and don't need to worry about proving who you are. Will this screen fit into a large parcel collect locker?

              • @Agret: No thats a parcel locker. Parcel Collect is where it is held at a post office for you to collect.

Its available on your MyPost account.

  • Better than Dell deal?

    • Which deal? I am looking for a 27 one.

      • +1

        Probably referring to https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/767931
Although I see that one is now out of stock. Also ~$380 vs $300

        • This one has speakers which the dell one does not (if thats something important to you)

          • @Piranha2004: Monitor speakers are always terrible. Any cheap dedicated speaker setup will sound better

        • mn maybe i shouldnt have cancelled my order for one

      • Dell27SDGF

        • Such a good monitor, gonna wait for another deal on this prefer to have the same monitor for a dual setup.

          • @umoddbro: There wont be another deal on this because its now officially end of line (I checked with Dell support). Would have to get it elsewhere if you really want another one.

            • @Piranha2004: Damn that's a shame, was hoping for a sub $350 deal :(

              • @umoddbro: I was just waiting for the new FY to make the purchase. Oh well, you snooze you lose.

          • @umoddbro: Stoked with my dual setup with these two bad boys.

            • @teslacoil33: Kinda regret not buying two now, was such a good deal had I known they were discontinued wouldve grabbed another… Guess will just have to keep an eye out on ebay and see if anyone is flogging one.

              • @umoddbro: I ended up getting my 2nd one off marketplace for about $250

I don’t play computer games. Is this also good for browsing Ozbargain website and watching youtube videos?

    • +11

no, you need at least 240hz panel to see secret Ozbargain deals

      • +1

And you’d need an OzBargain Premium membership too

    • +2

Some people say 1440p makes watching videos worse due to a mismatch in the resolution/upscaling, but I never really noticed it personally and the additional sharpness and screen real estate I find to be amazing compared to 1080p.

      • 100% agreed. I have a 2k and a 1080p side by side and the 1080p looks dogshit

        • yep. can attest to this. 1080 24" is super grainy once you move to 1440 27", especially at the same viewing distance

      • Would a 4k that is not for gaming better than this 2k gaming for me.

      • Yeh especially if you watch YouTube alot videos are all blurry on a 1440p.

        • +1

YouTube has low bitrate for all videos. Watching 4K quality on a 1400p or 1080p screen is probably the best you'll get out of it. It's not a good site for high quality videos, so much noise and data loss. If you ever upload clips of your gameplay to it you'll notice how awful it looks compared to the raw footage.

          • @Agret: If I want to test out my new 4K screen, what should should I used? Vimeo? Does that still exist? I remember Vimeo always felt like higher quality.

            • +1

@bleeder: If you really want to test out your screen you can get some 4K demo footage from https://4kmedia.org/

You are looking at 700mbish file for 1 minute of footage, it's the stuff they put on the TVs in the store to make it pop.

You could also get a UHD blu-ray or search for a "REMUX" movie download, it will be around 40-50gb per movie and is just the raw files from the UHD blu-ray movie decrypted.

    • +1

If you don't game you should get a 4K monitor, they're more detailed for desktop tasks.

      • Thanks.

  • +1

    Nice. Scored one. Thanks OP

  • Are people paying the extra for insurance? I’ve never ordered through scorptec before but I assume an auspost delivery should have some sort of insurance or lost package policy without the extra insurance?

    • +1

I paid the extra $6 for insurance. Probably a waste of money. Relinquishing Ozbargain card now :(

      • Ok. This is from the auspost website

Most of our services come with up to $100 compensation for loss or damage. Should your item be lost or damaged, and you haven’t purchased Extra Cover, you may be entitled to compensation of up to $100 and a refund of postage (proof of value may be required).

Explains why scorptec “waives” the insurance costs for items under $100.

    • AFAIK it's not enforceable
ie if you never get your item they can't claim "you didn't buy the insurance so you only get $100"

      • +2

Yeah, that’s what I was wondering. Like, how is it our responsibility to purchase extra insurance. That should be covered under their obligations of an online order which offers delivery.

    • Yeah that stuffs a scam.

Consumer laws around here are strong enough that if you didn’t get something you didn’t pay for.. well.. they’re gonna have a bad time.

Notice how this shit hasn’t been a thing till recent. I wonder how people got their stuff without insurance before that.. hmm.

  • +1

That is a crazy price for those specs.

  • +4

    Awesome.. got one.. Thanks!

Just a tip…. you put the Promo Code in at the CART… not at Checkout

  • thanks grabbed 3

  • Would it be worth getting this and replacing my current monitor? (LG Ultragear 32GN650-B), bought it in november last year for $500 and had problems with ghosting and the size of its screen due to desk size.

    • Yes, because most VA panels are rubbish for gaming.

    • +1

What overdrive setting are you using?

Also this monitor is more of a sidegrade, but you should never have been paying more than $300 for either.

      It's 2023, these should be almost $200 now…

      • And what would you recommend for $200 with the same specs?

        • Waiting for retailers and wholesalers to get their shit together and stop trying to sell old stock at inflated prices, or saving further and spending say $600 on a QHD 240Hz monitor with elite response times.

This is a basic 144-165Hz IPS monitor… with response time performance that's about 5 years old.

          • +1

            @jasswolf: You know what!

You are 100% right. The monitor arrived and I've been playing with it. The response times are awful, it might be 144hz / QHD but its a chit tier monitor. I'll be keeping it as a second for WFH but for gaming it doesn't cut it. The LG GP850 which is considered mid tier now, is much much better in every aspect.

            • +1

@Flognuts: The good news is that they're taking notice and using better tools to tune response times going forward, but the bad news is that IPS falls behind compared to TN and good VA.

ULMB2 might help fix this for gaming, but the first products off the line still have issues with strobing crosstalk despite being setup to fire each third (in rows) of the screen's backlight independently from one another.

Hopefully fixable in firmware, but LCD is basically a dead-end technology now, though still practical for high motion resolution through smarter strobing.

              • @jasswolf: I'm in the market for the best 27inch gaming monitor.

                Which would you reccomend?

                • @Flognuts: Subject to the state of its input lag after firmware updates, the Samsung G6 QHD 240Hz monitor. Extremely fast VA.

      • what overdrive should I be using?

  • +1

Thanks OP - Hopefully the 4070 I ordered with the amazon deal actually shows up - it hasn't been cancelled yet. This will pair nicely

  • +1

Didn't even need one, got it anyway…price to good to resist.

  • +1

Having paid $470 for the Gigabyte M27Q only recently, I am in cope mode atm

    • damn, i paid $500 for it when it first launched in early 2020.

    • +1

If you actually use the KVM function, then you're not losing out. Having it built-in to the monitor results in a much cleaner setup compared to a separate hardware KVM, plus finding KVMs that passthrough Freesync/Gsync properly can be a gamble.

      • 100% , good call out. I was literally asking ChatGPT to explain to me the best use cases to get value out of my KVM as I haven't used it yet (despite being the reason I bought it) :D . Also I believe the response time and refresh is actually slightly faster, although I personally have no idea if the difference is to a noticable level

  • +1

Thanks OP got one.. Was looking to increase my productivity

  • Looks like the deal is over getting this error when trying to use promo code

    "Oops, something went wrong:
This promo code is sold out."

    • Did you type it in or copy pasta?

      • Tried it both ways, same error.

  • +2

too late.. sold out… any 32 inch ips monitor deal?

  • Damn it, bought this last month from Scorptec for the $399

  • +1

Yep promo code exhausted, buy first, think later.

Anyone get any dead pixels with theirs ?

    Mine came with 2…
A stuck red pixel on the side.. .which i dont really care.
But the other is a stuck green pixel in the middle of the screen :(
