No issue with this price. Can't compare P&O with Cunard. But absolutely worth the price paid.

$25 a day is insanely cheap. 2000 passengers is pretty comfortable too. It's much less like being on a cattle carrier.

  • Anyone found any good deals for flights back to Cairns?

  • +6

Can’t believe people are still debating this crap. It’s so 2020

Go grab the popcorn. We are just getting started. Lol

  • This must be a price error or something ?

    • +2

Not a price error. Its only one way.
You have to make your way back

      • This is NOT a price error. Everyone knows that P&O cruises are CRAP. It would not be a price error if they actually paid for you.

  • +8

Cairns departure on a P&O cruise. It's definitely not going to be filled with drunk bogans.

    • Nah they are swarming on a Jetstar A320 thats going the other way around to Bali haha

  • interesting username

  • Interior rooms only…

    • +1

Well if they were exterior, they would be in the water.

My boss just came back from a P&O cruise last week. He described the food is like RSL food …..

    • +4

That's pretty much sum it up.
P&O is considered the lowest among other mainstream cruises like Carnival and Royal Caribbean

I just came back from the 10 night Kimberly Cruise last week on the P&O Explorer. I thought food waas good for the price I paid ($100 per night). For $25 per night in this deal, there's really no argument about food quality.

Most of the foods are quite light on seasonings/marinades, I assume because most passengers are senior citizens and may find strongly seasoned or marinated foods overwhelming.

The thing with the food is that there is a wide abundance of options. In The Pantry (similar to a shopping centre food court), there is Indian, Aussie roast, fish and chips, sugar station (cakes, jelly etc), Italian, Chinese and Mexican.

The only one I found to be consistently average was the roast restaurant, the meat was always dry from sitting under the heat lamp. Fish from the fish and chips was average, but passable.

The Waterfront was pretty crappy the two times I went there (but free), and the Dragon Lady was good Asian, not as good as buying from your local Chinese/Japanese.

      • Sounds pretty underwhelming from your description. I guess most of the guests are used to eating in a tavern, so they have are quite happy with this kind of food?

        • +1

Underwhelming if you're expecting restaurant quality food on a cruise with 2000 passengers… Whilst paying $25 a night for travel, accommodation, food, entertainment, 4 pools and a gym.

I understand people saying the food is not great but come on, you're paying less for the cruise than you would pay for your tavern meal. I don't really understand what people are expecting?

  • Does anyone know how long this deal lasts currently planning a spontaneous holiday with 4 friends starting in Melbourne based on this deal

    • It'll last until sold.

With only interior cabins left, and sailing in a month, and at this price there won't be many left. I'd suggest booking by Sunday as it may sell out quite soon.

    • Looks like the cheap for quad rooms are all booked out as it’s showing $3xx pp

  • Yuck … Gotta go to NZ in winter

A friend went on a P&O cruise and said it was like a floating RSL and bogans galore.

Does anyone else have any experiences?

    • Yeh. My freind said the same thing.
      Lots of junkies too.

    • The one I went on was pretty good, probably less than 20 Bogans and, other than being a bit loud, they kept to themselves.

I went from 8/May/23 to 18/May/23 and it was great as it was during school so only about 30 kids.

Mostly senior citizens and they were largely nice but there were a few that were so incredibly rude to the workers.

  • Get your boosters guys

    Seems like www.cruises.com.au are actually www.ozcruising.com.au https://abr.business.gov.au/ABN/View?abn=71123529555

At first I thought some other company copied their website, but it’s them, maybe just rebranding after people had issues with them taking ages to return people’s money from the 2020 & 2021 cancelled cruises. https://amp.nine.com.au/article/724819fa-ea2c-4a62-b792-f9ed…

    • I booked with Cruise Guru instead when I found this out yesterday.

  • Small INTIMATE quad share !
    This sounds interesting…

Imagine a boat load of ozbargainers…

    • Would be amazing. Probs not so much during meal times if it's a buffet 😁

    • There is also a "feral" schuttle Cairns to Bali……

  • How do you return?

I just want to eat at the buffet

    • +1

The ozbargainer move here would be to resort to vagrancy until a return cruise deal pops up. You might find a deal on some kayaks in the meantime though (+ international shipping).

  • +5

omg can you guys shut the (profanity) up about the vax

    • Some people are still living in 2020/21/22, give them a few years to catch up in society. They will either be dead, or somehow alive to tell the tale.

  • Looks like it's sold out, 2 or 4 bed occupancy
