      Just say you are porting when purchasing, this avoids the sim coming already activated.

    Currently with woolworths mobile, enjoying the 10% off grocery but we don't really buy biiig… average savings have been $7 to $9 per month…with some planning.
    In terms of use…don't need a lot of data using the second sim (boost) for data.

      Of course this one. Cheapest WW mobile is $170 a year now. You can get the $60 amaysim and pay for everyday extra to get the 10% off for $59 a year totalling for $120, still much cheaper than $170..

      • I would say a lot of people can earn back the $50 difference through an extra monthly 10% discounted shop. Even just a $40 shop 10 times in a year would earn it back, which is minimal

          The difference is not $50. If you get the $170 a year vs the $60 amaysim, it's $110!!! And $40 x 10% x 10 is $40. You need $70 more to break even. Why would you do that? And most people don't need to shop just at woolies.

            @leiiv: Amaysim $60 365-day plan is 60GB. Woolworths $170 is 125GB.

            If you wanted to compare them, you would need to look at the Amaysim $100 plan at least, or compare with the Woolworths Mobile $100 plan, making the difference $40-70, which again is quite easily earned back in discounts for someone who is doing regular shops.

  • Does anyone know what happens if I still purchase the sim with the 50% discount for my existing Amaysim plan? It seems to apply the discount on the website for me even if I choose an exsiting Amaysim number. Will they just disallow me to port in? I've been told it's for new customers or a new number only, however, I can't see it's mentioned anywhere.

          • @Rain Cloud: Do they lock in the number that you give them for porting?
            In the past, I could always specify the number at the time of activating the SIM (if I chose the "Keep My Number" option).

            • @DoctorCalculon: Im not sure, I did not try to order with another phone number. When I put a number currently with amaysim (the plan was to port out then back in) when I tried to pay it kept giving me a 'transfer number failed' error.

    Managed to get 50% renewal using live chat. They offered 25% discount at the start so I threatened to port out and back in; then the customer service representative 'asked their manager' and after about 10 mins approved a 50% discount that you can see on their online portal

  • my number is currently with amaysim. I will need to port out and port in back. It seems it may be safer to port out now before i purchase this plan with "port with existing number" to save the hassle.

      Just go on live chat and ask for the 50% discount to renew your existing subscription. I got it this morning straight away with no questions asked. Very straight forward. And you can choose to renew straight away or later. Seriously hassle free.

    Amaysim doesn't support conference calls.. If you are getting 2nd call, you can't put the active call on hold and pick up the 2nd call… to attend the 2nd call, you have to drop the active call and pick up the 2nd call.

    I was just approved for $100 credit towards a renewal as my 365 day plan is expiring today (purchased last year, for half price - 165gb 365 day plan for $100; normally $200). $100 already showing in my account as credit.

    I was wondering, has anyone else in this position tried to use the $100 credit towards the smaller $120 60gb 365 day plan?

    I have 40gb of data and was told it would rollover. If I'm able to, I could essentially end up with 100gb on the 365 day plan for $20 lol

      I looked at the change plan option but it looks like it happens immediately & you lose all roll-over credit.
      This would still be fine as the 60GB 1 year plan would be OK.

        Yeah I just went with the 60gb plan for $20 after applying $100 credit.

        Won't officially take effect until tomorrow as that's when my plan actually ends (not today, as I initially thought).

        I'll update here if the ~40gb data I have left ends up rolling over.

        I do lose the international calling etc. that I had but I never really used it anyway.

        Either way, 60gb on 365day plan is still a steal

                  @Litew8baby: I've pretty sure the credit they gave you will only apply to the specific plan you were offered. If, when you are trying to purchase the plan, that the amount doesnt show the discount then it wont apply the discount to your plan.

                    @andyman1908: Can confirm credit was applied to the new plan, i.e. I purchased the $120 60gb 365 day plan for $20 after applying the $100 renewal credit I was given via live chat. It wasn't locked to any particular plan fortunately for me

    • For the rollover you must rollover to the same plan AFAIK so if you gothe the 60GB plan NO rollover

    I have 2 sims which are going to expire in couple of days. I contacted the support by chat requesting for a recharge using this 50% off offer. They said they can only offer 25% off as this offer is for new customers only. I replied thank you, i will port out my numbers and will port in again using this offer, don't need 25% recharge. So they offered me 50% off on my next recharge straightaway.

    • Yes, you can. You'll be asked to enter your account number from your current provider during the porting process.

    transferred to vodafone in 2 hours then i have purchased the $60 amaysim 12 months plan.

    If I want to buy this now to be activated later, at checkout I don't select that I want to use my existing number and I want a random new number (So the sim doesn't come pre-activated) then when the time comes to actually activate it (When my existing plan comes close to expiring) I need to port-out my existing number elsewhere (eg. to Boost Mobile) then port back in via Amaysim even though I have selected a 'New Number' at checkout? and I can just go through Live Chat and they will just do it for me so I can keep my existing number?

    I have read through all of the Port-Out / Port-In Comments a few times and I believe that's correct but I just need to be 100% confident and so I don't screw myself over hahaha

      AFAIK, they will pre-activate the SIM during transit if you select this option.
      Then when they see you start using the SIM / data, they reset the plan start day to that day.

    • It might be best to go on Live Chat now and ask them if this is possible to do. You could say that you are not sure yet if you want to transfer an existing number or not and want to decide this later. Will be interesting to find out if this does work.

      One thing though, in the past I selected paypal as the payment method and did not verify my ID for this until I was ready to use the SIM. This stopped the pre-activation.

      I was wondering this also. My Phone is with Boost and doesnt expire until mid july. If I get a Amaysim Sim with a NEW number and use it in my old phone and activate it by mid june then can I port my old phone number with boost to the already activated SIm / different number )

      so for me I can buy a new service now choosing to port my existing number then just wait until mid july to activate and port from Boost

          I didn't check this comment before I purchased it, I figured I could chose the option to get a new number just to get through with the checkout process. So got back on chat to see what options I have to transfer this plan to my existing number. They simply offered to withdraw the new number and apply that plan to my exisiting number. No hassle of porting out and back in. But makes sense to do the port out in for @Squeezy. My plan is expiring in 1 week.

        Just chatted to another Amaysim Rep to confirm these T&C.
        I'm told the 30th June is the deadline (no 90days period) Transcript Below.
        Different Reps seems to give different T&C.

        30th June is the activation deadline for ALL current numbers ported over (new numbers have the earlier 15th June deadline). However this 30th June deadline is when Activation needs to be "COMPLETED" by. Most cases porting completes in few hours -1 day. but in cases where there is a 2-3day delay, it's best to activate on the 27th June to ensure meeting the port completion by 30th June Deadline (to avail the Promotion plan for "EXISTING PORTED" numbers. Did I summarise this correctly. Please confirm? Thanks
