Good deal. Bought 3 to stand vertically upright against each other.

    • get another three, line them up in a circle on the floor, and perform ritual

      • +1

He could do that but you dont want fire department to show up near the house when performing ritual.

  • It comes with atleast 2 years customer protection warranty!

  • +2

I think it's meant to say 3 years instead of 3 months.

  • Thats alot of FPS

    • Not for UE5 and pathtracing.

Current graphics is old gen graphics overloaded with textures/shadows/reflections etc. 4090 is perfect for that (2077/FS2020/Hogwart/minecraft RTX etc). It's also why more vram is needed these days, rather than a generational leap in graphics devs are compensating with insane amounts of texture packs to get that effect.

      • There arent any games anyway nor will there be any in the near future.

MSI customer support is b*** s***
I purchased 4080 suprim x, and get a weird fault due to their PCB design flaw, their support team is slow, unresponsive and irresponsible.
Took more than one month to fix the small problem, I have to ship it back twice, and they scratched my card (deep scuffs) which made me really mad.
Will not purchase any product from MSI ever again.

    • where did you buy it from?

    • What is the PCB fault with this model?

  • Do these really need to be water cooled? The heatsinks on the "normal" units are huge and probably over spec'ed.

    • Have a look at this video, especially 15:15 onward. There is a difference around min 5 degrees. I guess it depends on personal choice. Considering air cooled ones are around $2600, maybe $400 extra can be no issue for some OzBargainers.

Also, no copper sound :) But it uses more power

What's nice about the WC cards is they'll fit in most standard cases

    • +1

They do need to be water cooled if the huge heatsink can't fit in without hitting the card in the 2nd PCIe slot. This is an issue for x570, even higher end ones where the 2nd slot is 3 spaces down and you have a card in the 2nd slot (I have the Hyper M.2 card) x670 on the other hand have some models where the 2nd PCIe slot is 4 spaces down from the 1st slot.

It's useful when you want to install multiple cards without using risers. Such systems are not uncommon for ML/AI usage, you may fit 2-4 such cards in a large case, maybe while keeping radiators outside.

Otherwise, you are right, the normal air cooled cards have huge heatsinks and are very quiet (except for the coil noise).

I can only guess this comes into play during summer time where here in South Australia temps can shoot up above 40'C.
I usually don't run AIRCON (water cooler is affordable) due to power costs so its a possible problem.
My 6800XT CONSTANTLY overheated during summer time without a watercooler!!!
But I think this HSF 4090 I have will probably be fine.

  • Still about a grand off the mark. What a fricken joke - every time I see $3k I Iook for the spy camera. No reflection on the OP but a clear neg for this

Kept shaking the box, but the computer wouldn't fall out

  • Cheers, bought 2 for SLI.

    • This card does not support SLI

  • pretty good but shopping express is such a dodgy site doesn't even have diablo 4 promotion up

    • I think they do this promotion too, because their email show that.

  • This one?
Or Gigabyte RTX4090 24GB AORUS XTREME Waterforce?

    • -2

      Neither.

      • Computer alliance has 10% off for Gigabyte RTX4090 24GB AORUS XTREME Waterforce.
So thinking which one is more better…
