Any current gift card deals to stack?

  • Is it worthwhile to buy a m2 macbook PRO now?
Was expecting m3 to launch this year, but it is recently rumoured to delay.

    • Although M3 is expected to launch this year, M3 pro probably won't (otherwise there would be ambiguous 2023 macbook pros).

IMHO select based on your need now and how long you can wait.

      • I agree the M3 pro probably won't be out this year, but the naming convention isn't a problem. They have been happy to go with "early/mid/late" prefixing the year, many times in the past.

    • The M2 air with 16gb ram and 512gb storage is the most future proof laptop you can buy

  • Does this apply to Apple on Campus education store purchases?

    • Let me know if you find out

    • +1

      Refer to list of exclusions:

      EPP purchases (Employee Purchase Program)

There is only one official EDU store.
      AOC is an EPP store.

    • My cashback was tracked when I bought my Macbook Pro on AOC. YMMV though. No harm trying.

      • How do you do it? I’m using the CR iOS app and it takes me to their in app browser with no way to change to AOC store

        • @tichet18

          • @evasive: I did mine through my iPad. I visited the AOC store beforehand, then visited CR and clicked through - it remained the AOC store for me then.

            • @tichet18: Did the same in safari, then went to cash rewards app, and it took me to the normal store because it is a separate browser. No idea how you did it but got lucky maybe

              • @evasive: Try the CR website. Open AOC on one tab, open the CR website on the other. Set the AOC store, and click through the web portal on CR. Make sure you turn off ad block.

Just did it on my phone.

  • I need to buy iCloud+ storage. Can I use these deals somehow ?

    • +1

Can't get cashback on it, but you can purchase discounted* GC at Coles/WW and pay using that balance.

*you will earn 20x rewards points, but it's not technically a discount on the purchase

  • Stack with 10-15% off Gift Cards from ColesWorth for even greater discounts

Can you share the link to this deal?

    • +3

The only current active deal is this Flybuys bonus points deal at Coles (and it is the second comment in this deal too). That deal is not strictly a discounted gift card deal, but you are getting a reasonable bonus with your purchase of Apple gift cards (unless you do not have any use for Flybuys points at all).

There was a 15% off Apple gift card deal at Coles Group’s online gift card portal and a 15% off $20 Apple gift card deal instore at Coles earlier this year, but you would need a time machine to enjoy those deals…

If the deal is no longer available, OP should remove it from the description imo

If the deal is no longer available, OP should remove it from the description imo

There is in fact a deal this week, which is still available, as per WookieMonster's statement above your reply:

The only current active deal is this Flybuys bonus points deal at Coles (and it is the second comment in this deal too). That deal is not strictly a discounted gift card deal, but you are getting a reasonable bonus with your purchase of Apple gift cards (unless you do not have any use for Flybuys points at all).

So in this case I will leave the OP as is. Thanks

        • +1

I have the urge to post a JV style comment:

          do you even read?

  • Is that 7% before or after trade in?

    • How do you trade in? Is there a link?

    • +1

Trade-in? I thought trade-ins would invalidate all cashback. OP’s description (which is copied from the Cashrewards page for Apple) says:

Cashback is ineligible on the following:

      • (List updated 12/04/23): New Mac Mini, Pro Display XDR, Purchase of Gift Cards, Gift Wrap, Shipping, Apple Developer Programs, Purchases via trade-ins, AppleCare purchased individually (or after associated product ships).

There is a chance that Apple will still let you earn cashback on purchases involving trade-ins, but I would not count on it (especially if automatic tracking fails and you need to lodge a missing cashback request with Cashrewards).

      • +1

        Ah missed that line!

        Thanks

I wish I could pre-order the damn airpod pro 2 with USB C

    Can I buy store credit?

    • -1

Yes voting down for no reason with no comment! Very clever stuff, the oddities of OzBargain some days.

Anyone somewhat more clever able to answer, do you know if you can 'buy credit' using this deal somehow? Buy an Apple gift card and redeem it back to you?

      • +2

Probably downvoting because your question is answered in the post:

Cashback is ineligible on the following:

        • (List updated 12/04/23): New Mac Mini, Pro Display XDR, Purchase of Gift Cards, Gift Wrap, Shipping, Apple Developer Programs, Purchases via trade-ins, AppleCare purchased individually (or after associated product ships).

Thanks mate, seems too hard for someone to type it.

That's a shame, would've loved to stack my discounted credit!
          Cheers.

          • +2

@hamwhisperer: It was already typed. Seems it was too hard for you to read the OP.

  • My Chrome Cashrewards extension does not activate when I try to check out in the AOC Edu store :(

    • +1

Isn’t the AOC edu store an EPP, and hence excluded per the lists terms?

    • Use an iPad or the App.

      • Doesn’t seem to work for AOC store. Let me know how you did it.

Thinking hard whether should i get the 2-years old ipad mini 6 now or hold until mini 7 ………..

    • When's Mini7 going to be released?

      .

      • I keep seeing rumors about it being the end of 2023 (sept / oct) or early 2024

  • Has the Apple Edu store been removed from Cashrewards or am I not looking in right place can only find “standard” Apple Store when searching….

  • +1

Any reason Why doesn’t Apple australia sell refurbished iPhones ??

  • +1

I thought cashback will be invalidated by using the gift card?

    • +1

Nope. You can use apple account balance or gift cards and still get cashback.

  • Fr, fr no cap?

  • +1

Stupid Q, how do I click through to the Education store from Cashrewards? I'm only seeing the main store and NZ store

    • +1

Nevermind, figured it out. Once on the main store, head to the footer and work your way through the education links.

If I am traveling soon (using non-Aussie passport), could I buy online and get GST rebate at airport? Or it is only for buying from retail shop? Thanks.

    • Online is fine as long as it’s an Australian retailer, which this is. Just needs to be within 60 days.

    • Thanks for reminding me about that; I go OS next month, guess I might as well get that Mac Mini prior.

      • Mac Mini is ineligible for this CashRewards 7% offer.

        • I know, that doesn't stop me getting it with discounted Gift Cards on Edu store and then getting GST back. This conversation was to do with GST, not the cash rewards rebate.

    • Do u need to pay back the gst rebate if u bring it back to Aus?

      • Yes

Buy now with 15% Apple Gift Card for M2 Air (July 22') plus this cashback, or wait for potential new release next month?

    • same boat here. 15% gift card how? My only reason for waiting for new release is if there is an associated price drop on this one

      • Price Protection instead?

        • -1

Will price protection work on purchases via Gift Card?

      • There was a sale not long ago from Gift.com.au I think where they had 15% off Apple eGift card.

Either a price drop, or the new model will just be priced higher. Also it might just be 15" model so might not be any change to existing Mac Airs

      • +1

Your question on 15% off Apple gift cards was addressed in a comment above.

    • Also looks like AOC is about ~4% cheaper than Education pricing

  • +1

new Mac Minis not part of the cashback. May just hold off for now…

    • Sigh… Missed that..
      Looks like I’m returning then..

    • Dam, i was hoping to pull the trigger. Keep waiting.

  • +1

    THANKS HEAPS i smell pennies.
Stacked with the Coles Flybuys gift card deal to buy a new 14" Macbook.
    Saved heaps.

    • Can you pls tell how many points you will receive?

    • Enjoy your new Macbook :)
