Same deal https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/760184 but was extended a month more. Maybe might be extended to June? Cannot recommend if you want high speeds. Mine was inconsistent, rarely hitting past 200 KB/s (1.6mbp) . But tethering or uploading hits 2MB/s. Another issue, at least for my phone was I had to manually input the APN for internet. Also a second pack I ordered took 12 days to deliver so be prepared to wait.

  • Seems like a good choice only for spare or backup data

Stay away if you’re looking to port your number! I tried porting via online portal but ended up getting assigned a new number. When contacted customer care, got a reply after 4 days that you can’t port your number online, you need to contact customer support to do that.
Their customer support reply time is about 4-5 days every time.

    • Same thing happened to me - I even got the port in authorisation code. Avoid.

  • I have family visiting next month, and they'll only mainly use mobile data to navigate around the city for when i'm not with them. Would you recommend this?

    • Haven't had any problems using Google maps so far. Web pages take longer to load tho but for $1 can't complain. Maybe buy a boost sim when cash rewards/shopback have boosted cashback?

      • Boost is what i'm currently considering, but I haven't pulled the trigger yet. Thanks for your input.

  • They have to pay me $5 per month to use their service. It's not worth the hassle of porting in, the patchy website and the terrible customer support.

  • The ongoing cost for the 160GB plan is incorrect in the title - should be $50.

    • Fixed, but I don't think it matters since most people should disable it after 3rd recharge

  • I’ve gone with them and it’s just terrible. Data is so slow!! And most importantly, no MMS!! You can’t send or receive images.

They’re using LTE for internet connection. Not even 4G. Very very slow.

      LTE is 4G

  • Stay away. I get "emergency calls only" most of the day at most places in Melbourne

Surely its not just me with issues, what a nightmare, I bought from the last deal, bought 3.

Firstly I get the sim and on there it says you would have received a PIN with your SIM, which didnt come

Activate the sim, enter ID details, get an instant email saying porting successful and ready to use
3 days later it doesnt work, call support a few times, each time I get told, you have to Insert SIm and turn phone off, and soemthing about "what is your Lyca mobile number" which I have NFI about, did that multiple times, didnt work, call support, logged a technical issue report, you will get a call within 2 days, 1 week later, no call back

Tried to activate again, get a "your sim is not activated yet, please activate" while im on the activate your sim page
call again yesterday, get told ,your sim is broken, and I have to email [email protected] with photo of the error and sim details, and the guy on the phone cant do it,

the other 2 sims, ive activated it 3 times, get the Your sim is activated email, and the sim has been finally allocated a random Lyca number after 3 tries (first I find out about even getting one of these), get manually activated on friday over the phone when calling support, lead time is 2.5 hours to transder, 3 days later it still not working

I will be cutting my losses on this one, what a joke

    • And in my follow up rant for kicks:)

My first sim that was never registered and got told it was broken and to submit a replacemrnt request.
I got a reply telling me its not broken its just not latched to network and to reset phone with new sim and it will work….. tried that, didnt work

And the 2 other sims manually activated by the staff on saturday, today is wednesday and both not activated

So 0 of 3 sims activated after 2 weeks

  • Its going good so far, till now, wondering if I should stack you multiple of these to constantly port over this with Boost each 3 month period ? or so ?

Should be a total cost of $0 in a year, given boost can give $7 cashback profit easily on at least 3 sim

  • Anyone knows what is the last date by which the SIM needs to be activated?
