Galax GeForce RTX 4070 Ti ST 1-Click OC 12GB Graphics Card $1,129 Delivered (w/ Diablo 4 via NVIDIA) @ MSY

420

EDIT: Some stores still have stock. Depending on the state you live in, you can select a store and choose the delivery option at checkout.

My journey ends here fellow hodlers, I've caved in.

~US$650 was my preferred price for a 4070ti, and since I'm also interested in Diablo 4, to me this works out to be ~US$670 for the card + the game, which I find acceptable.
Strikes me as a fairly good deal if you're also interested in the offered game. Card also has good build quality (saw a few youtube videos) and without RGB.

Free shipping is for VIC, not sure about other states.

  • This must have just appeared. Was looking a couple of hours ago and this wasn't there (umart).

I've missed the $1099 deal. I don't know, should I HODL until a same deal like that happens again or cave in now?

    • I purchased this card for $1129. I went back to those earlier deals and they are mostly mistakes (one was clearing inventory).

      • Wait how did you manage to buy it? I don't see an Add to Cart when I went to the listing.
Never mind I figured it out.

        • Where's that damn button? I can't find it

          • +1

@Pusheencat: You have to pick a store that has the item in-stock, then it will show the Add to Cart button. When you go to checkout, that will be the store the card can be picked up or delivered from. So yeh, it depends on where you live to find a suitable store that has it in stock. Last night Balcatta had some in stock which I managed to purchase, but now that store is all out.

I think you can pick a store outside of your state, but then you can only go with the delivery option to get the card. It seems they use AusPost for delivery.

Overall, not the most intuitive UI to new customer.

    • +3

      $30 is ~0.3%

      • +7

Different deal I think - these cards don't cost $10k lol

    • +1

Depends how long you can wait. Call me optimistic however I wouldn't be surprised if a $999 deal happens before EOFY ends.

      • +11

Or nvidia just had their stock jump by $200bn in a single day because of AI and they don't give a toss any more in the gaming space and they stop dropping prices, because they don't care.

        • +6

          buy AMD's offering…

nvidia wanted gamers back after crypto crashed… as soon as AI matures they'll want the gamers back
until then they can sit on all their overpriced inventory….

      • +3

Keep in mind the diablo 4 promotion ends on 13/06/23. That is additional value to consider.

        • I refunded my preorder after purchasing this card. Part of the reason for the upgrade was D4 so closing in on $1k is ok-ish for me.

      • Yeah and ideally a MSI card for $999 ;).

    • Would my 650W PSU be able to handle this card? Also, do I need some sort of adapter to use this card with my PSU (not an ATX 3.0 one)?

      • +2

650w should be fine , these cards are pretty power efficient. Like 280w at full load. Full system consumption with a 5800x would be around 400w

      • +1

Using the MSI one with a 650 Corsair platinum no probs card draws from 250-280w from memory

    • -7

I've missed the $1099 deal. I don't know, should I HODL until a same deal like that happens again or cave in now?

No, you should HODL until this item is offered at a reasonable price ~ $799aud, a level where nvidia still make a huge margin while we retain our dignity and collectively help restore order in the market.

      • +2

Not going to defend nvidia but last I checked atl for a 6800xt is higher than 799$ so given the performance uplift here I dont think 4070ti will drop to this price you are suggesting for a while. At least not until either amd or intel makes a competitive card both in value and performance against it.

        • +11

Steve @ gamers nexus, and other specialist reviewers, will explain the issues with this card at this price in a way that simply can’t be done by myself or anyone else within the limits of this forum.

Suffice to say that nvidia is providing an uninspiring product at an unreasonably high price. All I’m doing is giving that inspiring price. This is after all OzBargain. Not Oz-higher-than-msrp, or Oz-slightly-cheaper-than-other-overpriced products.

Those with buyers remorse can neg forever more, it doesn’t change the fact that this is a $799 product asking $1099 or more. It will stay a $799 product while we as sensible level-headed people refuse to pay more.

Paying more fuels yet higher prices thereby selling out the broader gaming community. Please don’t do it. Think of the bigger picture.

        • Translates to you suggesting "pull your pants down and pick one."

You can simply choose not to get ripped if all deals are bad. "But how will I live with my 2080ti" .. lul suckers

        • All time low for 6800 XT is $760.

      • -4

Yeah! So many weak minded suckers shooting themselves in the foot. I'm sitting back laughing with my $350 6600xt at these 8 brainwashed consumerists

        • People having the budget for this card don't give a sh*t of your 350$ 6600XT lol

    • +4

What's so appealing about this deal? This is what the 4080 should cost

It's like a mere $50 less than the deals over the last couple months. All shit brands/models also.

$1100 is a lot of money for something cheap. I would want a more prestigious item for that kind've money (352/384 bus, more ram, noctua build quality etc)

You could get a lelit Anna with $1100, 192 bit bus inno3d galax ventus is like paying $1100 for an em5000

      • +2

Yes but in the current climate, they will never let 4080 dip into a price like this

        • They will drop the moment people stop/slow buying them.

Harder for prices to drop when every deal $30 below average price is recommended and upvoted. Members who point this out are then attacked/censored. What does such a culture suggest to you?

I think it suggests people are encouraging these bad deals rather than disapproving of them.

          • @Jimmy77: Hey man, a $30 deal is a $30 deal.
But OzBargain updoots don't mean these cards are actually selling

            • @Deterrence: Yeah I guess they're just a representation of the wider gpu consumer base and why the market is in it's current state. "wow RTX 4090 shutup and take my wallet" etc. Very gullible no willpower and easily appeased. It's unnatural to see so many people just cave and accept getting ripped this much (which is all due to crypto)

I rarely walk into the supermarket and hear someone go "wow only $50kg for porterhouse steak" Then watch everyone panic and fight eachother to clear them of the shelves.

      • Well the RTX 4070 TI is at RTX 3090 TI performance levels, so similar to gen on gen uplift as a RTX 4080 would be at.
Remeber the RTX 4070TI was original going top be sold as a RTX 4080 12gb

        • +1

Yeah pretty much except the price.

The 1070 had 980ti performance but wasn't $1200. It was still awfully expensive for it's time (circa $650). Also 1070/2070/3070 were 256 bit this 4070 is 192 bit. People also argued x8 pcie was fine until one game (doom ultra) showed them what gimping memory on a card can do. 192 bit is honestly not fine.

    • Decided to bite… no eat the bullet last night and pulled the trigger on this.

  • +5

Good deal imo. Close to the $700 USD it should have been at launch , stupid fast for 1440p and still very good for 4k.

Just pulled the trigger upgrading from my 2070, gonna be a huge boost for Starfield.

  • +1

What's the fan noise like on this model?

I was going for the PNY RTX 4070 Ti XL8R model, $1199 from Umart, which has been reviewed to be very cool and quiet. One of the best coolers out there
But no Diablo 4 code :(

    • I got a link to a review with noise tests in the first comment, check it out

  • +3

Sold out at MSY, however still available at Umart

      • +2

Man, you should let this go.

        • -6

          let what go?

      • +4

Why are you so mad, sitting in the comments crying?
Your comments aren't going stop people from buying the card.
Sure it's overpriced, but if overpriced cards are the only option and people don't want to wait, they can do whatever they want.

        • -4

Would you prefer nobody mention the products are gimped & way too expensive? It sounds like you'd prefer that. Why exactly? Are you afraid your 3080 will be worth $400 in a few months if you don't post every link imaginable?

The real problem is people attempting to normalize the current market, not the people complaining about the current market. Of course they can do what they want lol. Sounds like you don't want anyone pointing out they're ripoff for some reason

          • +3

@Jimmy77: Mate you need to check back in to reality:
            1. What goes on here has absolutely zero impact on the market price of a GPU. This forum is a drop in the ocean.
            2. People upvote this deal because, incase you didn't know this - you're meant to upvote if the posted deal is the cheapest available and guess what? BINGO
            3. Noone is "attempting to normalise" the market, everyone here who wants a new GPU is just trying to find the cheapest available. If that happens to be outside of your price bracket then it sucks but that's how the world works. Having a whinge here isn't going to change anything.

            • -2

@DeToxin: But you can see the 21 upvotes for yourself.

              https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/749803

              • @Jimmy77: So what's your point?

If that card has been cheaper in the past that doesn't make any difference to the price at the time of the post.

Do you have a time machine?

                • @DeToxin: "If that card has been cheaper in the past that doesn't make any difference"

Really? What kind of bar is this.

No I don't have a time machine. I simply don't buy it if it's been cheaper in the past. You should do the same. Call it a bad deal don't put lipstick on it. That's why this sub sucks, these "deals" shouldn't be posted here (and if they are they should be negged).

It's also odd seeing people celebrate hodling for $50 off a $1300 card or a "free" copy of D4. Bit like haggling for free floormats with a porsche?

                  • +1

@Jimmy77: The bar is called reality mate.

I simply don't buy it if it's been cheaper in the past.

Great, that's all I'm hoping you do, because it's real tiring listening you try and tell everyone else what they should or shouldn't do.

                    You should do the same.

I'm not in the market for a GPU, but if I needed one, and this fit my needs I would probably buy it, and that shouldn't upset you.
Comparing a freebie that's 6% of the purchase price to a floor mat that probably .01% of the build cost isn't really apples to apples but think whatever you want.

                    • @DeToxin: Yes it seems like being milked like a cow doesn't annoy you. Whereas other things do

                      • +1

                        @Jimmy77: Cry harder

                        • @DeToxin: Unless you didn't get milked and still run a GTX 1060 then I apologize. But sounds like you were happy to get milked, paid the current prices and are naturally projecting some buyers remorse by being vengeful towards posters like myself

                          • +1

@Jimmy77: Mate I honestly don't know where you are coming from. I bought a 3080 for $1500 and have been happily gaming on a 3840*1600 ultrawide since. 0 remorse.

If that makes you upset then go write up a sob story in the forum's rather than trying to tell everyone else what they should and shouldn't buy in deal posts. Hopefully the mods nuke this thread cos it's a waste of space.

                            • @DeToxin: "Mate I honestly don't know where you are coming from. I bought a 3080 for $1500 "

Exactly. That's why hodlers annoy you. If you paid $600 for one I don't think you'd get triggered by my posts or those of other hodlers.

                              • +1

@Jimmy77: You're welcome to HODL your way to the grave and never buy anything for all I care. I've been enjoying gaming on my card since Dec 2020, so will it works out to something like $2/day which I'm fine with.

People holding off buying don't annoy me at all. In fact I think the 40 series is terrible value but I'm not gonna tell someone else what they should or shouldn't spend their money on.

People screaming in the comments for everyone else not to buy something do annoy me though.

What the next person eats doesn't make you shit? So why cry about it?

                                • @DeToxin: "your way to the grave and never buy anything for all I care"

Woah what's with all the salt.

"People holding off buying don't annoy me at all"

                                  proceeds to erupt saltwater everywhere

"People screaming in the comments for everyone else not to buy something do annoy me though."

                                  Move to China?

                                  • +1

@Jimmy77: Clearly we're not gonna agree or even come to an understanding so you're welcome to keep crying in the comments of all these GPU deals and I'll just ignore you from now on.

@Jimmy77: Jimmy, I guess you walk or ride a bike to work? Cause petro cost right now is definitely higher than the past, and you don't buy anything that was cheaper in the past.

                                • @DeToxin:

                                  How come?

                                  • @Diji: Well if I paid $1500 for a 3080 reading such comments would make me feel irked.

I'd feel like an utter fool (when I'd prefer to be seen as rich and wealthy). When such comments strike a nerve I'd then justify to others how I made 1/2 of it back during crypto and how it brings me so much joy. All this self bargaining much better than telling myself I bent down in front of Jensen

  • I have a almost 5yr old i5 8600, 16gb 2400Mhz DDR4 RAM, Z390 Aorus MOBO,Gigabyte1080 GPU with 650w PSU inside a Corsair Carbide 600c Full size tower. I'm torn between buying just this card for my existing build and Techfast tower packages that offers 4070/4070ti as it's GPU. Quality vs Convenience….. any thoughts?

    • How much is the techfast rig? You’ll find it a solid upgrade from the 8600k I’d imagine

      • Let's say around $1450+ with delivery fee included. Deciding between these 2 options:

5700x /4070ti for $1788, might be able to message them to ask for 5600 / 4070ti to save a bit of money?

        • +1

I'd do the 12400 as you can put a 13600+ in 3 years or so for a bit of a boost once they're cheap/2nd hand.

          • +1

@incipient: I would do the 13700k. Because the motherboard alone costs more than an entire 5600x build and it's superior performance will provide a negligible real world difference.. which is great

That's the zoomerbargain culture and that's what you need. 5600x only provides 187fps in 50 game averages. You should spend quadruple for the extra 40fps and "futureproofing".

Also one of those $400 AIO's made of bakelite plastic and another $5000 in hardware if playing minecraft rtx

            • +1

              @Jimmy77: Huh?

              • @incipient: Haven't you visited whirlpool recommended pc builds? 5600x is too slow because Harry Potter and one other game have been released. You need 13700k.

Also it's "an obsolete socket" according to the experts. You're much better investing in a modern platform where the AM5/b760 board alone costs more than the entire 5600x/mobo/ram combo. Because then you won't have to replace your $150 am4 mobo! (overpriced am5 mobo apparently won't have dropped $150 when the time comes to upgrade cpu years later)

    • +3

The 8600 with slow memory like that will bottleneck the 4070 ti in a lot of situations, especially if not at 4K.

    • I'm using a 4070ti with my 8400 Intel pumps out 100,fps on ultra QHD still will get a new mobo and cpu soon though

  • +5

I would prefer the 20GB RX7900XT Same price bracket. Hopefully the AMD card drops a little more soon.

A TUF can be had for $1199 currently.

But 20GB vs 12GB VRAM, I wonder which card will still boot up in a few years time ;)

    • 12GB?

      • +1

Yes this $1129 4070Ti only has 12GB compared to its main AMD competitor the RX7900XT which has 20GB.

That's almost a whopping 70% increase for the AMD card.

        • not up to date with them.. depends which one is more reliable if talking about lasting years i guess.
Agree, sounds good on paper though

          • +1

@G-rig: What it means is that some games are already eating more than 12GB VRAM, and cards with less than 12GB are chugging to a halt and even crashing entirely.

Mostly the culprits have been the expensive last gen NVIDIA cards like the 3070, 3070Ti, 3060Ti etc.

But NVIDIA are still feeding 8GB cards to people, even brand new current gen cards, in fact they released one like 2 days ago lol! (4060Ti)

            • +1

@Grish: Yes they should be 16GB by now for the price.. I've had a few Radions in the past but due to compatability have been drawn back to nVidia.

Still running an RTX 2060s super ventus, even that is 8GB so next card I'd want a fair bit more for the price. Agree with other comments, all the (nvidia) cards are still overpriced and too many similar varients.

Was thinking a 4070ti for around $1k would be the next logical upgrade (a 3 fan should just fit in the meshify C). Don't game much so no rush.

    • +2

In 3-4 years you’ll want to upgrade either card anyway. Taking a couple bad pc ports at max settings and 4k to say 12gb isn’t enough is an overreaction. 99% of games run fine with 8gb still let alone 12

      • +1

I agree that 99% of games run fine with 8GB, maybe 100% of games made more than 5 years ago.

But it's certainly not 99% of games made since 2022.

      • Exactly, literally 90% of people pre-release of 4000 series were so blind to see that without frame gen bullshit, the new cards were going to cost MORE for LESS, so glad I bought my $500 used rx 6800 just before 4080 release, to this day, you cant even find a deal that good.

        • im just going used 3080 10gb, 4070 is still too close to 4070 ti in price (although its gotten better) and 4060 ti 8gb is such a joke (i had a 3060 ti already…) that i have no confidence for the 16gb model

Better card, at least reviewed to be quiet, and Diablo 4 bundle also applies

    • Those trio cards are a bit longer, wouldn't fit in my meshify C (315 mm), the 3 nomral fans would only just I think.

      • Got the card and have it installed.
It is 337mm long and 3 slots wide, barely fits in my FT02, with the middle bottom 180m fan removed
Added two Phanteks T30 120mm fans on either side of it to replace the 180mm fan.

whisper quiet at 30-35% fan speed, under full load, and no coil whine
