Note that the purchase limits have changed from past promotions and there are now different rules for fixed and variable load cards:

For cards with a fixed value, limit of 10 cards per day per Rewards Member (can be done across multiple transactions). For variable cards where you choose the amount to load, limit of 10 cards per day per Rewards Member in a single transaction.

    • Thanks, I will update description.

  • Can you use Coles Mastercard Gift Cards to pay ?

  • -2

Ugh why do the make the T&C’s so complicated? They also contradict themselves in regards to fixed amount cards. Might just stick to getting them at Coles provided they run the promo often enough.

Does this stack with 3x points Everyday Extra reward? or the 10% off 1 shop every month

    • +1

      No, to both.

      • +1

Thanks! Probably will wait for Coles' promo

Too many rules best to stay away and endless chasing up for Points. When I did get to book my flights with Qantas reward seat they didn’t issue me a flight ticket number. To make it worse they closed my account not long after saying I exceeded household quantity yet only purchase 10 per day. Not playing their games anymore bye bye

    • Yeah. Same QF did not issue me a complete ticket. I had to call them 4 times to get it sorted. They then deducted the whole points and later told me “your point balance is not sufficient”.

  • great

  • Can I use woolies giftcard to pay for this? do they have any limitation like pay with maximum 7 giftcard or sth like that?
    Thank

    • Can I use woolies giftcard to pay for this?

You cannot use gift cards issued by Woolworths Group (e.g. Woolworths Supermarkets gift cards, WISH gift cards) to pay for any gift cards at Woolworths.

      • Woolworths thoroughly updated their checkout systems in late 2018 to automatically block customers from doing this.

      • Woolworths accidentally opened up a new loophole during the early phase of Everyday Pay trials in late 2021 and I know of at least one person who used Woolworths gift cards via Everyday Pay to pay for Apple gift cards. However, the loophole was closed again when Everyday Pay was rolled out in mid 2022. (You actually cannot use Everyday Pay as a payment method for gift cards at Woolworths or BIG W nowadays, as it is automatically blocked by the checkout systems.)

You can always give it a go, but I would be really surprised if you managed to get it to work.

do they have any limitation like pay with maximum 7 giftcard or sth like that?

What is this question in relation? Redeeming Woolworths Group gift cards at Woolworths, or redeeming Apple gift cards at Apple?

yeah cuz I have some Woolworths Store Card value $500, and wanna use it to buy apple gift card. okay so now I can't use it. thank you

      • +1

Btw, I missed 15% off apple gift card at coles in March, and wanna buy a new macbook so I'm trying to save as much as money I can. thank you for your reply

  • Do you think we will ever see a 30 x Reward points on Apple Gift Cards again? Damn that was such a good deal.

  • Sorry if I've missed, but is there a cap on the bonus that will apply to Variable load?

Keen to pick up 4 x $500 cards.

    • FYI one of the staff at Woolworths told me they could only do $1000 worth per transaction. Not sure if this is company wide, or just this store.

Bought one earlier today and when I tried redeeming it, it says code invalid…

I’ve bought apple gift-cards in the past and this has never happened before so it’s super annoying.

I contacted Apple because on the receipt it says the activation was successful but Apple says to go back to woolies.

Went back to woolies and they said to wait 24hours but I doubt it will have any effect -.-

Such a waste of time to drive back and forth.

Anyone else with this issue? If yes, how was it solved?

    • +2

Yes I had the same problem redeeming 10 girt cards. I have receipts saying Activation successfull.

Contacted Apple who said there’s no issue on their end and to go back to Woolies.

I’ll go back tomorrow morning and see what happens to try and solve the issue.

Maybe the Woolies system is borked because there has been a lot of Apple gift card purchases today?

My Mum seems to be having similar issues with some cards she purchased yesterday

    • +1

Yes I had the exact same thing happen with one of mine too.

Looks like I’ll wait the 24 hours and try again.

      • +1

I’ve escalated my issue to Woolworths customer service today who are looking into it as my gift cards are still not working

    • Update: What a sht show

After 24hrs, I tried the card and it didn’t work still. so I went back to woolies and was told to call Apple support because apparently speaking to a rep instead of apple chat support would solve the issue.

So I called Apple and they looked into the card and said the reason the card didnt work is because it was already redeemed back to 2022. So the card is void and I need to go back to woolies and ask for a replacement or refund.

I drive back to woolies for the 4th time. Woolies again say they can’t do anything so I call Apple on the spot to get them to talk to each other and they were pretty much blaming each other. Woolies tells Apple to refund me because apple got the money, Apple says they don’t get the money it’s woolies distributor of the giftcard who gets the money so woolies has to refund me or give me a replacement and take the issue up with their distributor.

End of story is I’m out $100 with no solution yet because now woolies says to give them the weekend to find out whats happening and to visit them on next Monday which is in 4 days zzz

Also interesting to note, my partner bought a $30 apple card this morning from the same store and it went through fine. So maybe just an issue with the $100 gift cards?? Seems fishy because Apple said it the card was already redeemed back in 2022, so maybe there was a scam where someone was redeeming cards and returning them getting a refund????

      • +1

I also made some progress on this. The store manager lodged an enquiry with their internal IT department and I received a call from the store today confirming that the card was never activated and they are looking into trying to activate it internally. Should get a response in the next day or so.

      • what a $h|+ show

the worst thing is the staff are absolutely hopeless

        • No-one has an update about the result??

I still don’t have an answer and I’m beginning to think what other course of action I can take.

Can I go to the ACCC or file a dispute with my bank to refund me the money??

  • If I do 2x $999 transaction in the same day does it give me the extra pints on both? Last time I couldn’t.

    It’s unclear here:
“ For variable cards where you choose the amount to load, limit of 10 cards per day per Rewards Member in a single transaction.”

    • in a single transaction

But someone said that there is a rule at Woolworths were they won't allow you to do more than a $1000 per transaction. So I wouldn't risk it doing two transactions of $999 on the same day.

      • +2

Instore gift card purchase limits at Woolworths is more complicated than merely $1000 per transaction.

Each Woolworths staff member operating a checkout (including self-service checkouts) has a different limit assigned to them that is enforced by the checkouts. From my experience:

        • One very junior staff member was unable to approve a $500 gift card purchase. They had to get their supervisor to approve it on behalf of them.

        • Most regular staff seem to be able to approve $1000 gift card purchases.

        • More senior staff seem to be able to purchase $2000 gift card purchases.

        • Managers (including duty managers) seem to have no approval limits.

The other consideration is that different stores may apply different purchase limits, which are separate to any limits coded into checkouts, and this would probably be dictated by store management. For example, I was told at one Woolworths store (during a 30x points deals for Apple gift cards) that the purchase limit for Apple gift cards was $300 per customer per day.

        • Yes my woolies is $500 and the store manager is so rude about it. He makes a big issue abkut how he has to refund cards that don't work and how annoying people like me are that come in and buy up all his appke gift cards. . I told him he is in the wrong job mate if he has not got the patience and that i just wanted to buy gifts card not gear about all his gripes.

  • Awesome.

    Quick Q if anyone knows
    - is the limit still $800 of Gift Cards for Apple education purchases
    - can you still get cash back eg cash rewards for the full amount if payment is with GC?

    Thanks
