      • no, i am not a member. If I register now, do I qualify?

        • Yes you should. Do check the sellers page to make sure the promo is active on the account. Then you should be able to cancel the transaction and list the item again (do not use relist) and ask the buyer to repurchase. Maybe give the buyer a $10 discount or something for their trouble.

          • +2

@dins: Since @l0nglive already sold the $600 item, it won't apply for that one. But it will apply for future orders.

And note, when you sign up to eBay Plus, you will still (temporarily) get the error "not available for the promotion" error. The error will clear a few days after sign up

    • Next time, please read the deal properly. It clearly states in title and description multiple times that it is for eBay Plus members

  • Hi there, here to consult on a situation.

So I've just sold an item (1am 02/06), where the listing was created 5 days ago, but the buyer has yet to make their payment. I've just subscribed to eBay Plus and accepted the above promotion (I am relisting one current listing and planning to sell other items as well).

Would I be able to waive the variable fee, or would it be a lost cause as the listing was created prior to the promotion start date? Is this something I can contact eBay support about?

    • You will not be eligible, as the promo only applies after you accept the promo. And eBay will not budge on this

      • No worries, thanks for your reply.

I'll see what I can do about contacting the buyer and relisting the item

  • Hey Team, I've got the promo, activated it. Just listed an item - a laptop, but still see Used/Left:0 / 3 in the promotion section. Is it normal?

    • +1

Yep, the counter goes down after you have made the sale.

      • Thanks! I have not been selling for a while. The counter used to changed straight away.

  • are they gonna stop the promo after JUNE

  • +2

Do not use Sendle unless you are ok with their "ATL". There's no option for Signature on Delivery in eBay for Sendle, the label will be automatically assigned ATL.

    • +2

@Buy2Much I recently realised it’s no longer an option which kinda sucks. It used to have signature on delivery for all orders over 500g, at least up until a few weeks back.

Not too stressed however now that eBay have rolled out additional seller protections in the case of a lost parcel:

When a buyer reports that an item hasn't arrived

If you uploaded tracking information from an integrated carrier before the latest estimated delivery date and the tracking shows evidence of successful delivery:

      • You won't be responsible for refunding the buyer

For orders up to $750, additional protections apply if you used a protected integrated carrier. If you uploaded tracking and there was at least one carrier scan before the latest estimated delivery date:

      • We'll automatically respond to the buyer's report
      • You won't be responsible for refunding the buyer
      • Does that mean we dont actually need to purchase additional insurance up to $750 if we used eBay postage labels?

        • +2

          @lilkid28

It depends. Because insurance covers damage too right? This eBay protection is out items not arriving, not damaged items. It depends on whether you want to insure for the sake of damage. If not, don’t add insurance.

Also note you don’t need to use eBay postage labels. You can use your own courier, as long as that courier is one of the protected integrated carriers, including:

          • Australia Post
          • Toll
          • Sendle
          • StarTrack
          • Hunter Express
          • Aramex
          • CouriersPlease
          • Winit
          • TNT Australia
          • Allied Express
          • Shippit
          • 4PX
          • Border Express
          • DHL
          • PF Logistics
          • Bluecare Express
          • SortHub
          • Interparcel Australia
          • Omniparcel
          • E GO
          • Main Freight
          • TFM Xpress
          • @I Smell Pennies: Wait you can't get the optional signature required with sendle on eBay anymore? There used to be a "signature confirmation" box you could tick to get signature with sendle on ebay.

            • +1

              @videoman: No longer available.

              • @lilkid28: What delivery service are we supposed to use when listing the item? I used to use "Standard Parcel Delivery - Registered" when I planned on using sendle but that was when I could get a signature. Is it still ok to list it with that?

    • +1

My story or lesson to learn, was an item I sent last year by Sendle which I selected "Signature on Delivery". Their courier left it and marked "Delivered"! Receiver came home from work and said he did not see it, so raised a case "Did not receive". I also purchased insurance, which only covered the transportation phase, once marked as delivered, insurance finished. When I tried to claim insurance from Sendle, they refused saying their system showed it was delivered, they sent me a photo proof showing the item was left at the front door, an open invitation for any opportunist that walked past!
My trump card was that "Signature on Delivery", Sendle failed doing that that so they finally paid my insurance.
The issue now is that whoever eBay rules in favour if ATL item is stolen, either seller or buyer, one will be a loser through no fault of theirs. I know as a buyer, I'd be pi-sed if it happens to me.

      • +1

Sorry to hear that. Well according to eBay seller protection, if tracking shows delivered and eBay raises an INR case with some problem such as yours and in the rare case eBay does refund the buyer despite “successful delivery”, it will be out of eBay’s pocket rather than yours.

        • +1

If that is the case, it sounds like win-win for seller & buyer then 👍

  • Is the 50% off price discount shown at the point of purchase of postage label? A parcel that is $9.16 on the Sendle Standard website seems to cost more even after the discount for me (showing $9.60, original RRP on ebay of $19.20).

    • The price on eBay should show the 50% off but mine isn't 50% off- "Buying on eBay you saved AU $11.03", "Total
AU $12.33". So I guess you don't get the GST included or something?

Did sendle increase their prices? The half price sendle package is going to cost me $12.33, yet to post the same item at Australia post it would only cost me $23.45. So that means sendle would actually be more expensive if it wasn't for the 50% off at sendle.

  • Just a note. Make sure if you're using this you never relist an item, even if the original order was canceled, instead delete the old listing and make an entire brand new one.

Nothing in the T&Cs about relisting canceled items, but apparently this doesn't apply to those.

    • +1

I set my eBay accounts to show "Out Of Stock" rather than delete the whole listing. What this does is if you list an item at any quantity and it goes to QTY = 0, eBay will keep the listing and show it as "OOS" to buyers and saves lots of time if you do end up selling the same thing in the future.

So if your case happened for me, I'd just increase the QTY by 1 again and buyer can now buy it, while remaining eligible for the $0 fee promo (as it's on the same listing).

  • How likely is it these $0 fvf promotions will keep going after June?

  • Damn. Just sold a computer and paid 12% FVF.

My bad for not activating the offer. But why does Ebay make these offers "opt-in"?
Surely we've already opted into Ebay Plus benefits by paying the membership fee. So IMO it should be automatically applied to all Ebay Plus member accounts.

Why the need to manually activate individual offers?

    • You just answered your own question.

By making it manually opt-in, lets eBay just collect 12% from you 👍

      • …or any other Ebay Plus Members who don't realise you need to manually opt-in.

If the offer has been created as a benefit for active Ebay Plus Members then activate it for all Ebay Plus Members.
I can only think they must want to track the number of opt-ins per offer cycle.

        • …or any other Ebay Plus Members who don't realise you need to manually opt-in.

Precisely. They're potentially saving themselves a lot of money by making it a manual process 👍

          • @Nom: Of course. But if the main goal is to save money then why create the offer in the first place?

If the goal is to provide some real benefits for active Ebay Plus Members, having a manual opt-in process only makes that experience worse, not better.

  • Will there be another offer for July?

  • Anyone know what happens if we list an item within the promotion period, but it sells after it has ended. Will it still apply?

    • +2

      Yes will still apply.

Best strategy will be to list on 30 June.

Even if you have active listings - with say, 10 days remaining. Cancel them and list again to maximise to get 30 days of exposure.

Just make sure not to use “Relist”

      • Do you know if it will be fine to make edits to the price and description without affecting the FVF?

        • +1

Yes you can, I do it all the time

  • +4

Any free final value for July?

    • What about the 50% off any 3 Sendle Postage Labels? Anyone sold anything this month and got the 50% off postage?

    • I am waiting for that. I have some batteries to buy and a usb c to usb a adapter.

    • My ebay app shows 3x50% final fee credit, seems no free ones in July …

      • +1

50% off is better than nothing I guess :)

        • I just seen this banner on my eBay homepage-

"50% off Three Sendle or Australia Post Labels Promotion"
The promotion runs from 10:00 (AEST) on 1 July 2023 and will be available for a limited time only, for as long as it is advertised on the eBay.com.au site (“Promotion Period”). eBay reserves the right to cancel or extend the promotion at any time.
Post three items with a 50% discount during the Promotion Period, with a Sendle or Australia Post postage service purchased through eBay’s labels platform.

Nice, it looks like it includes Australia Post again this time.

      • CORRECTION: this 50% final fee credit only applies to the following items:
        Men’s Athletic Shoes (15709);
        Women’s Athletic Shoes (95672);
        Men’s Casual Shoes (24087); or
        Women’s Comfort Shoes (53548);
