        • That's great.
          I should have done that,
as I have too much food right now….haha

I was worried that the coupon wouldn't survive 1x ordering 'session',
as I have lost coupons before mid-order.

        • Did the 2x orders, complete the payment transaction ?
I mean, do you have to "pay" on that particular day,
or the payment was done today ?

I'm asking, because then, I can schedule orders on other people's accounts.

          • +1

@whyisave: Yeah, they deducted the total order amount minus the promotion of $100 from my bank account as soon as the scheduled order was placed.
Although, there was a case with HomeAlone - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/13855968/redir where they charged extra so I hope that isn't the case.

            • +1

@sunny boi: well, the code is OOS now and I hope you get to enjoy your scheduled orders :-)

  • promotion not applied although sitting there as if it eligible

    • Placed 2 future dated orders and promotion is gone. Dinner sorted for long weekend

    • some restaurants aren't eligible

  • I created an account with a new number and email albeit the same payment details but was able to get Uber One again and the promotion. However, once I ordered, I was told that the promotion wasn’t available for my order despite being charged $5 and the promotion had disappeared from my account with the $5 still pending on my card. Has this happened to anyone else?

    • +3

Because you used same payment details. Uber always detect multiple accounts user.

      • I’ve made various accounts in the past and was successful in getting the free trial on all of them, same situation here. I’m guessing they must’ve finally caught up to me, however I still haven’t been charged the standard, it is still recognised as a free trial for me so I’m unsure exactly what’s going on.

    • free uber one? if so, no shit ur banned

    • I did pretty much the same thing as you. Although I also used a vpn.

It got through to "order is scheduled"

At what point did it say the promotion wasn't available anymore? After the order was confirmed to be scheduled?

      • Nope, at no point in time did the order go through, however I was still charged the $5 service fee It wasn’t wise to use the same payment details but I figured I’d have a shot as I haven’t used Uber in a while.

Edit: I’ve also tried redeeming the code again but am being met with ‘Oops, this promotion has already been redeemed’ despite the order not being successful.

    • did the order go through

  • how long will $100 be valid for?

  • 'promotion codes have been deemed invalid for this account and all trips will be ordered at the full price'
promo has disappeared from my promo page & it wants full payment, hmmmm

    • At what point did this occur? Had you already gone through with a confirmed order/scheduled order? Or was it prior to this?

      Thanks

      • was at the checkout stage, it had applied the $100 off
this was for an immediate pickup order using a new account with no details used before

be interested to know if anyone is managing to get it to work now

        • Maybe try with a VPN or internet you don't usually use, in an incognito tab

        • new ip, email, phone number, debit card?, deleted app data or just logged out?

          • @abjsdhasehasee: was new ip, email, phone & card, device had used uber before the only thing that might be similar was router had been used with another device signed in but I think it's more a case uber are onto all of this and likely new signups

            • @Irishness: It's your device, uber tracks imei.. Next time you should use a browser.

            • @Irishness: 100% the other device being on same ip, it sees that and your insta banned, I did everything right once but confirmed my email on my desktop which is on the ip of another acount and bam nothing worked. I just use hotspot and restart phone for new ip, always works.

              • +1

@abjsdhasehasee: yep that'll be it confirmed email address on other device, shit & I did think nah it'll be ok

        • I thought it was for delivery only

  • +2

Partner's account is on the 6 months mastercard promotion, so code is not eligible :(

Also not eligible for those already on monthly uber one plans

  • I signed up new account and signed up to Uber one trial, tried the code in the promotions tab and it says I’m not eligible for this promotion

    • try to log in and apply the code on website not on app

      • Works on app too. Just need to make sure app is closed while you're waiting those 10/15 mins.

  • +3

Those placing multiple scheduled orders are about to find out the hard way just how flawed the Uber Eats checkout/charging system is.

I hope you all took screenshots and used a card with insufficient funds to cover the full price.

    • you mean on the same account? do tell

      • +7

With scheduled orders they don't charge you until just before the time you had it scheduled for.
The promotion isn't voided from your account until that first charge and is then automatically removed from all the other orders.
You won't receive any notice about this and will end up paying full price for those other orders.

        • even if it's different account with different email/mobile?

        • +1

uh oh, ive got a $8 charge there for a preorder thats coming tonight, although i have already got my first order, Are you saying that $8 charge is just a pre-auth charge or that you didnt get that charge at all?

          • +12

            @abjsdhasehasee: Hes wrong.

You get charged the moment you schedule the order.

It is only adjusted for grocery, not food deliveries.

            • @Koipanda: nice! honestly wouldnt have minded tho, I underestimated how much food 5 FAMILY pizzas is

            • +2

              @Koipanda:

              Hes wrong.

I'm speaking from experience. I'm sure I still have the screenshots that I sent to support. I'll have a look and report back.

              • +2

@HomeAlone: Thats really wrong of them to do that to you then.

I hope you got the money back.

Just for FYI, knowing your Consumer Rights would help. It is misleading and deceptive conduct to charge a higher price without obtaining consent and its unconscionable conduct to arbitrarily make the charge when the advertised total is different.

Thats why any store with a brain would cancel the order/call the buyer.

I did have an issue with Uber grocery, charged $2 more than total. Contacted chat and they refunded instantly.

                • +1

@Koipanda: I don't think they do it on purpose. They just haven't put enough thought into all the different ways people will try to exploit it.

Anyway, I found the screenshot. https://imgur.com/a/SyMKyxQ

There were 2x 30% off promotions at the time that stacked.

                  100.00 Any 2 spirits for $100
-30.00 30% off. Discounted price displayed on store page (valid for 1 order per week)
-20.00 30% off capped at $20. Discount applied during checkout (valid for 1 order per account)
                  4.50 Service Fee
                  =$54.50

The first order went through as expected, but for this second order they dropped both the 30% off discounts and tried to charge me $104.50 and then only notified me after when the payment failed. Weirdly enough they still delivered the order.

They did eventually wipe the "outstanding balance" from my account, but even with the evidence it took some convincing.

Also, I should note that this was ~5 months ago so it's possible they have made changes since.
I would still recommend taking screenshots so you have some evidence and charge to a card that can't cover the full price.

          • @abjsdhasehasee: Did you end up getting charged any extra by Uber for the 2nd order?

        • Could you please share the experience, if you link the credit card via PayPal, does uber still can charge you full amount for $100? I made one purchase, when I opened a new uber one for 4 weeks free trial account with new email address and new credit card, uber one didn't take any prepaid card or zip or Revolut or the first card which I linked with PayPal to pay first $100.5. Keep saying there is insufficient money.

when I successfully linked the second credit card via PayPal for uber one, strangely automatically default link to my first credit card which the one used to pay $100.5

I was lucky to saw your comments first I think you are right; they probably will charge me the second $100 on my first credit card by made second uber one accounts. Thank you.

          • @jwl81124: So are you suggesting we should use different credit cards as well? If we use the same payment across 2 accounts 1 will be free other will not be?

  • +1

Sick as! Got the free trial and the $100 off. Score!

  • +3

So glad I decided to grab a mate $1 sim and have a new number….

From my experience for this to work:

    1) New account, New email address. (Obviously!!)
    2) New phone number not use in Uber system before
    3) Use a card with no user name, I had issue initially when use a new bank acc debt card t cos it does not match the Uber account name (obviously fake). I change to a travel money card and fixed that issue.

Pay $11 for my usual go to Asian restaurant which is not close for over $100 of food👍👍

    • new bank acc debit card works and does not need to match uber account name which also does not need to be fake

      • Doesn't matter anymore, food delivered, and app uninstall from spare phone.

Just wondering. I already have free UBER ONE on my standard account, should I just close this account? Not that I need another Uber One account.

and thanks OP, food for the rest of the week sorted!!

        Just a side discussion…..

When Deliveroo hang up their boots, I was discussing with others how people will only buy from these platform unless there is a discount. Then some members point out that majority just order and don't care……

Now with promotion like this, UBER basically throw out 1M marketing fund as promote code, but really how effective will this be. Form me that is their $100 down the drain and there wil be plenty…….

One can argue 1M is peanuts for UBER. I question that POV. How many 1m can they afford to spend?

        • Just wondering. I already have free UBER ONE on my standard account, should I just close this account? Not that I need another Uber One account.

Uber Eats will have weekly deals such as $15 off $30 spend on selected Italian restaurants. This will only work once per account so having multiple allows you to take further advantage of them.

        • better than selling us those gfs that we cant even use:)

          • @qq830821: But that is a total separate issue right?

Also I heard most people got their money back from the deal?

        • +1

anyone remember the 5x$30 off that deliveroo didhttps://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/703715,
          so $150 of credit
the problem was sometimes service was great other times it was a nightmare which puts people off, then obvious deliveroo pulled the plug in Oz

          • @Irishness: That deal was glorious I ordered groceries for a month with that.

            • @umoddbro: never thought to do groceries but I had some great meals (when they didn't turn up cold)

      • If you use the same name and same delivery address, wouldn't that trigger the duplication check (as its so obvious)?

        • Same address, different name flags all the time. Same name, Barely something wrong with the address each time, works fine.

    • Also new device?

      • Don't think they can do that now…..

In the old days they use to track this by your UID (again Delivery Hero anyone?)

With modern OS and phone don't think that is possible but I could be wrong.

        • Some apps require device id to use so that they can ban those users who violate their rules or so.

I experienced once 4 years ago and there was no way to log back in despite using a new account or reinstalling the app etc. Very interesting that today it still remembers that old phone of mine and doesn't allow me to login.

          • @Bii: Have you tried doing a factory reset on the device?

      • +1

Don't need new device. You can just open up browser in incognito mode and sign up.

        • True. Only apps can track devices

          • @Bii: Not sure about other devices, I only have Samsung and Apple and both has anti tracking feature and one of then is UID tracking.

Again I am not a tech person, but I would say Apple is doing this quite well. Samsung 🤔🤔 soso, its just the nature of the OS.

        • Thanks for the heads up on incognito browser. My account never lets me use it because it hates my phone - but it worked when I signed up on browser and then entered code on incognito phone browser.

    • Can you give examples of what you call a travel money card ? cheers mate

      • Most banks has this option, its like the Travelex Money card.

It is essentially a multi currency Visa / Mastercard debt card with card number, exp date and CCV but the card does not have name on it.

Mine is with one of the big four. I usually use that for travel but also for Turkey subscription deal.

  • Chewbacca voice: I want my 100 bucks

  • Just signed up last night, pre ordered indian food 😋 dinner sorted!

  • Manifesting the eligibility of groceries as part of this offer lol…
Too bad, that's not the case.

  • +3

Damn anyone surprised this is still up? Usually these deals don't last an hour…. Uber must have a huge budget for this promo.

    • +2

I think not many people have the necessary tools to sign up a second account.

The promotion is everywhere though; FB, Paper, website……. So its not like OZB is the only place to find this deal.

      • That's the thing, though. It works on any account. Or at least ones that haven't had Uber One before (and some who have!).
Got it working on my 2 daughters' accounts, both using the UberOne promo free signup first on a computer then entering the code on a phone.

    • Yeah, just worked for me too, I was really not expecting it to. It's literally going to cost them hundreds of thousands.

      • +2

if indeed a 10,00 limited that its 1m if everyone use their code.

Just like I mentioned above, one of my mate just say this is peanuts for UBER man….. Well depends on you POV:

For big business, they have to spend that marketing fund anyway (although I can't understand the logic, you have to spend?).

For SMEs, $1m for marketing? You SERIOUS? How much I will have to sell more to cover that one million?

  • +1

New phone new email and phone number, VPN on, added successfully but when check out, it prompted all promo associated with this code has been removed, why?

    • new debit? also vpn 100% flags lmao, also same adress and name will flag, same device?

    • Could be browser fingerprint if same device, even with incognito

      • Since when do browsers have fingers?

  • So if revolut and all the prepaid cards no longer work, although revolut worked for sign up for me (not food payment), how do people pay for several family orders. Paypal?

  • Worked for me after signing up for the trial. When I typed in the promo BEEFYEOFY it didn't work for me until I typed it all in lower case beefyeofy

  • Tried to sign up for mum, account banned as i placing order.

    • +1

      Why was the account banned?

      • I'm not sure. I ordered too quickly maybe? No reason. Just banned

  • I was scheduling my order for Sunday but it just got scheduled for today. Still have over 50% leftover food from last 2 orders.

    Well shouldn't complain for $5.

  • Thanks Op. Just got delivery from highly rated Chinese restaurant nearby (roast duck, fish fillet & mixed veg, beef in black bean sauce, chicken & corn soup) for the family - this will last many meals with our brown rice/lentils/quinoa carbs and veg.

Damn you Op, I've been on a predominately WFPB diet, but had to taste some of the delicious food myself. A rare bit of fish/meat never hurt anyone. :)

  • Should I be in a rush to order something once the code is in my promotions it says that it must be used by June 20, or is it the first 10k people that make an order?

    • +2

These things never make it to the expiry date. Use it while you can.

    • +1

      What pharcycde said.

    • If you read terms and conditions it sneakily says it will end on june 10th

      • What pharcyde referring to is these kind of promotes have a tendency of suddenly expiring regardless of what T&C said (even after you applied it on your account).

Someone here mentioned their offer expired half way through their order.

  • Does the $100 work for pick-up orders?

I don't want to start ordering & then, mess up the order AND lose the coupon.

I've lost decent coupons with Uber Eats, just because I didn't complete an order which i started.

    • +1

I picked up my order was successfully, but you have to choose to pick up on the home page then show you eligible store.

      • I just signed up,…and the $100 worked for me too.
Order placed…and going to pick up now :-)

    • +1

I placed scheduled pick up orders for weekend worked for me

    • +1

Yes, I just collected two orders from two stores just an hour ago which were scheduled from yesterday. $3 total I paid
