    Is this ips?
    Looks to be VA

    • +6

It doesn't really matter what it is for this price haha. I picked this up on the $150 deal but replaced it pretty quickly, you really get what you pay for (it looks like garbage)

      • +1

It does is you prefer one over the other.

      • +2

Looks perfect for office use… no issues over here. Running a dual setup, one horizontal and the other in portrait mode.

Great for reviewing documents or spreadsheets, can’t beat the vertical space in that instance.

Gaming not so good. Smears (as most VAs do) so unless you are immune to that, best to pick up another monitor.

    • +2

      VA LED display

    • +5

      Every … single … time …
we get the same comments on VA, and many have no clue. tl;dr There are pros and cons, but both are good.
You want a 4K monitor for $180? Then don't be so finicky. It's a bargain!

      • +9

        ????

I will ask everytime if a monitor is ips, va etc even if it is for $1 or a million.

As it should be in the description.

        • +1

Agreed. Also, if you are looking at monitors and cant see what panel type, but can see the contrast ratio, if it is listed as 3000:1 then it will be a VA as they almost univerally have this same contrast rating from my experience. IPS is normally 1000:1.

          • @lordezekiel: True, I already have my setup so only asked the question as i didn't see it in the description😂

        • +7

very very wrong, and you're going to get negged hard.

          • @UFO: "TN < IPS < VA. TN monitors are the fastest but cheapest, due to poorer image quality when viewing from a side angle. IPS monitors have slightly faster response times and show color better than VA panels, but VA monitors have the best contrast out of all three panel types." source

Do you want better colour quality or better contrast?

Okay I should've added the word "for laptops" as OA is worse viewing from an angle.

      • -2

Yeah! How DARE people so picky about something they will be potentially staring at 8 hours a day for years to come. It's THEIR eyes, why do they think anyone else should care.

        • I repeat: they are both very good. If you want something significantly better, look at OLED :)

If people are looking at a monitor 8 hrs/day, most likely that is provided by their employer. How many people do you think demand their favourite tech there? Does it come up in the employment interview? I don't think so.
OK, back it the day, I did beg my boss for a Trinitron when they were buying new gear. It was 1280x1024 of awesomeness. Cost as much as a good used car though.

      • Finicky is part of Ozbargain :)

  • -1

Good price, if it’s a brand-new one will be better, this is used one.

  • +2

Note it is a previously owned monitor

    • Thanks, forgot to add that. Fixed!

      • +2

Title should also be price without cash back.

Have received from previous deal. Received it broken as it was loose packed.
Tried reaching support over email and call and no luck
So suggest to use PayPal for safety if you are planning to buy.

    • Did you try opening a case with ebay, you could get a full refund if they dont respond

    • +3

Yeah i had the same issue. The moniter self is bubble wrap, base and arm is loose and unportected. They do fill the box the air bag things but i don't think if offers much protection when the items are really heavy.

      • +2

100% this. They didn't even write "fragile"on the box. The front face had come loose and the pieces of the plastic clips that hold out together were in the bottom of the box.
It didn't affect functionality, so I didn't bother chasing it up, but I don't think I would buy again.

Oh, and only included two of the 4 screws for mounting to the stand.

        • This was also my experience, lots of loose plastic pieces, the monitors also had their face plastic seperated, had to click it all back in.

    • +3

I've recently started filming my unboxing of stuff like this just in case. Mine arrived fine a few months ago. A fair bit of backlight bleed but otherwise good for the price.

It saved me for a few of the Baseus deals a whole back. Had 3 jumpstarters arrived dead so I sent them the footage each time of opening them from the box and them not turning on.

    • Add me to the list of unhappy Australia Computer Traders customers.

I reported the screen was faulty. I got a promise of a refund.

Then when I tried to follow up as to why that had not happened I could get no response to repeated communications.

Fortunately I paid for my with Paypal, so I can lodge a dispute and at least attempt to get my money back.

I think the moderators here should protect us from companies like ACT by banning them from OzBargain and blocking any "deals" related to them.

  • +2

seller doesn't really describe what kind of second hand condition these are in? or have i missed that in description.

From previous posts, unless you're in the position to physically return, my understanding is buyer will bear return costs so take that into consideration.

    • If you are using ebay plus, returns are free. I guess they will generate a return shipping label for you

    • it’s almost 10 year old gear wouldn’t expect much

      • +2

The used one I bought from another deal had a manufacture date of July 2019.
Where did you get your 10 year figure from?

        • +1

          Weren’t these from like 2015

          • +4

@abctoz: No, it trickled into the market in Dec 2016 and really only started to get bought in Australia in 2017.

Also they don't manufacture every single unit at the same time; if they release a monitor in 2017 they can keep manufacturing it for several years.

      • 10 year old monitor?

Are you sure it wasn't 20? Give me a break with rubbish like this. They aren't 10yo at all.

    • On the website they say Class A, but as you can see in the posts above, it might not be in the same condition by the time you take it out of the box.

    • Find what you think is an absolute bargain & Adrenalin starts pumping & the physiological effects kick in, maybe begin to miss the real detail etc, Not Your Fault we are human.

From what I have seen, items are mostly clearly described, you just have to follow the sellers links.
Under Item Specifics - Condition - See all condition definitions : I see 10 levels of item physical condition.
EG, this monitor is described as "USED", it is fully functional but has signs of cosmetic wear, you can see it is one grade above for parts or not working.

Have change of mind or something wrong with item - request a return !
Ebay offer refunds for goods received not in the advertised condition.
Ebay offers free postage returns for plus members, print off a return label and take to post office.
Suppose If you are Brisbane based, take it back personally, but message them first.

I have nothing to do with this company or Ebay other than being a user/buyer.
I have had Positive outcomes from this seller " Australian Computer Traders " and at present they are my goto.
My return item took 2 days to refund!
      imho.

    • Mine from the last deal was working fine, but there were more scratches on the non-screen parts than I would have expected based on their description. Also the packaging is truly D tier.

  • Response time? Good for gaming?

    • Spec is 4 ms, refresh is 60 Hz.
      Not for gaming.

      • I game at 60fps on PC and console. Definitely for gaming.

    • +6

It is the cheapest 4K 32" monitor you will find. So if you are looking for 4K/60hz gaming on a budget then this is unbeatable. If you want a new "gaming" 4K monitor you are going to have to spend a lot more.

      • +1

        Considering i got my 40 inch 4k 60hz (well technically 59.something hz) for like $370 + $50 postage this 32 inch 4k 60hz is a steal at $175.

I just hope the place where I will be putting it for now won't be too bad for viewing angles until I can decide on a monitor stand that will go above my current 40 inch.

I'm really only going to use it as a discord and browsing monitor anyways like to pull up helpful maps while in game or watch someone's stream or YouTube while my main will be doing something else.

Cannot complain for this price I just hope the cables will reach as it will be quite far from the outlets.

    • +4

      Perfectly fine for gaming!

  • Oft thats cheap

  • +2

    It's $174 through their website: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/778456

    • Buying on ebay is safer for the buyer

  • Pretty crap quality as the monitor manufactured in 2017 and with VA panel. Not recommended if you have already used to IPS panel.

  • -5

at this point, not a deal anymore. any 1080p IPS panel will look better.

    • +6

Have you seen this monitor in person?

    • +2

ahahahahaha…. you've got to be joking!!! 1080p IPS better looking? Should have gone to Specsavers champ. I own this monitor and its kicks the crap out of a lot of IPS 4K monitors I've seen!

    • +1

I use this monitor and a vertical 1080p. 1080p looks absolutely shit compared to this.

  • +3

Agree with the postage condition as mentioned, just received an order on Friday, the first screen I checked had been knocked around.

Large box, bubble wrap, and stand in the bottom, air bags but still loose, nothing like a original carton protection.

The bezel was separated and screws fell out of the stand, I did find the screws still in the bottom of the box.
I took pic's before removing the unit, clipped the screen back together, and added the stand finally tested it, and all was still working ok.

I will need to open and check the other cartons, and split delivery so expect 2 more units on Tuesday, I doubt if all will survive the delivery without damage.

The damage will be Aust Post either via transport or when they roughly handle/throw/chuck/dump the boxes at the front door area.

They are good value, and as mentioned try finding a 4k 32" anywhere near this price.

Mine was direct, next time will be ebay with free return - if needed.

    fadge

    • i had the same thought initially. i think the ebay version was only 6months warranty while their website is 1 years warranty. am i reading it right? Hope OP can correct me….

  • +7

Seriously, if you are like me, cannot see shit, larger letters are better and easier to read, then go for it. Forget about refresh rate, whatever panels, quality, brightness, response time, wake up time, second hand, has been on hours, etc. When inflation hits this high, $180 does not buy much. If refresh rate, whatever panels, quality, brightness, response time, wake up time, second hand, has been on hours is important, then do not buy. :) I am using one at the moment.

    • Bought this for my dad last deal, might get one for my mum when she finally makes space on her desk for it.

    • cannot see shit, larger letters are better and easier to read,

Hmm i thought fhd would be better for old eyes (i am old)… or.. you mean get 4k and upscale?

  • Does this monitor have built in speakers?

    • +1

      Yep

    • the speakers are crap..

don't expect them to be any good

  • Are these ex Government?

    • +1

      Why does that matter?

    • +1

Ex TAFE from memory. NSW TAFE.

      • Did yours have the TAFE email address still taped on the front like mine?

  • +3

I encourage anyone who doesn't know this is OzBargain's official monitor of choice to please read the many previous threads on this monitor and retailer.

Search "Philips 328P6V" and enjoy the read (lots and lots of useful info, so maybe read these before asking the usual questions)
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/search/node/Philips%20328P6V%20…

In a nutshell- very decent monitor at a very decent price from a very decent retailer. Perfectly fine 2nd hand condition. Yes it's VA (get over it, its very good quality), and besides good luck getting a 32" 4K IPS for this price so maybe wake up to reality before whinging about it.

    • Wow thx .. i never noticed that . Still waiting for mine delivered for 10 days now. Better than buying from over confidence gumtree.

  • +1

Bought one for my wife for the home office in one of the previous deala. It's no IPS but for the asking price it's a real bargain.

  • +1

concerns of me for this monitor
    1. The yellow USB charger port is not working while the monitor is on standby.
    2. Screen shows a connection message at specific intervals when the PC is off and Monitor is on standby, I cannot turn off the connection search and message in settings.
    3. four corners have slight light bleeding, which is possibly an unlucky unit for me.

If anyone knows how to solve the issue for point1 and 2, thanks in advance.

For the price paid, it is a good value in the current climate. May I repurchase this monitor again? No, unless I upgraded the PC significantly to be able to connect two 4K@60Hz.

    • You're doing better than I am. Mine, from the previous deal, was received with only 3 monitor mounting screws, one of them damaged and unusable. I had to find some 4mm screws to even assemble it. Then the sound wouldn't work on DP. Windows says the device doesn't support sound. And now it won't let me into the OSD main menu to switch it to HDMI to try it on another computer that doesn't have DP. If this is the sort of hassles you get when you buy "grade A refurbished" gear, I'll go back to paying extra for new.

      • In fairness to the seller, he has resolved the matter.

        • Seller PROMISED to resolve the matter. But the company is now refusing to respond to communications.

  • -6

How is this a deal? Used + VA + 60hz

    • +6

Please post deal for new IPS, 144hz, 4K display for $180.

    • +1

Any other 32" 4K 60hz monitor in this price range?

    • OzB is looking for another muzeeb deal :D

  • anyone using 2x 32in 4k for WFH?

    • how is it running both horizontally?
    • how do I know my laptop can support 2x 4k? It has 1 HDMI + 1 TB3 port. It's a Dell Latitude 10850H.

    Thank you.

    • I needed to buy a TB dock, because my laptop could only output HDMI 1.4 via the HDMI port. Which means 4K at 30Hz.

So $200 later, I have the monitors plugged into the dock and driven via the TB port.

      Works sweet for WFH.

Check the output of the HDMI port.

  • For laptops VA is a no while for desktops VA is ok if you don't view from a angle.

These are really slow to wake. Thought I had a dud but have seen several people mention similar experience. Also when you get them they can be pretty banged up. I had to snap several plastic pieces back into place. All that being said mine has been working okay since.

  • Bought one from last deal. Nil issues for my 24/7 use case. Vertical orientation setup to monitor my homeland things. I.e. htop, iftop, btop, padd, etc.

  • OOS

Though I bought one from the last deal from the other seller (ACT), still waiting for it to be shipped out.

    • Who is the other seller?

      • +2

Australian Computer Traders, from their EOFY sale I believe

        • Uh, that's the same company, just not via ebay.

          • +1

@bargaino: You wouldn't really know unless you clicked through to see their eBay banner - thanks for clarifying.

  • Great panel for the price. Colour accuracy is tricky to finetune if you want it for artworking though.

  • Anyone on the GC buy this and not particularly want it?

  • +1

Agree with the above that the packaging could've been better- mine arrived with rattling sounds, and realised that the frame had cracked as the corner of the monitor was not padded (the corner was between two of the big air bags). The monitor appears to working, so fingers crossed nothing is wrong with it.

Just wondering if anyone had been able to use the monitor at 4k 60Hz using HDMI? I have tried multiple cables which could do 4K 60Hz on my TV, but with the same laptop, this monitor would only go up to 30Hz using HDMI.

Next course of action would be to get a display port adapter to try via display port, but rather not have to buy anything extra.

    Thanks

    • Managed to figure it out from comments from previous deal- Needed to change Display Port to 1.2, and HDMI to 1.4 in the settings.

Have to say, despite the larger real estate, the image is not very sharp; text is slightly blurred at the edges. Not sure if this is because I am used to using a 27" 1440p IPS monitor.

      • Managed to figure it out from comments from previous deal- Needed to change Display Port to 1.2, and HDMI to 1.4 in the settings.

OP for any future deal for this monitor really should put it in the description. It's silly how Philips doesn't turn on that setting by default.

Have to say, despite the larger real estate, the image is not very sharp; text is slightly blurred at the edges. Not sure if this is because I am used to using a 27" 1440p IPS monitor.

Are you using the recommended display scaling percentage in Windows? I can't remember what it is, but it can affect what you're describing.

  • +1

Received today! Agree with the comments about the shit packaging. Came through air mail from Brisbane. The box was half teared but fortunately the monitor was ok. The frame had become loosen probably on the way and could fix it. But the clipping part of the stand was in a wired shape and took some time to figure out how to correct it. Took around 1 hr to fix the issue with the stand (one very tiny screw had been fallen into the box and fortunately it was there despite the big hole in the box)… so all in all you get what you paid for…

  • Mine arrived yesterday. Super happy with it so far.

    Initial impressions

    • feels less sharp picture quality than my other VA panel 4k 60hz monitor but that one is 40 inches but could just be my viewing distance
    • I have it quite high above my main monitor so far viewing angle is not an issue which was my primary fear.. Both panels are VA but my main crossover 404K does feel more clear and sharper almost IPS quality compared to this panel but can't complain for the price plus it is only going to be a support monitor aka for viewing boring mundane stats from hwinfo and watching YouTube and discord etc it's just a really nice big second screen.. With probably zero gaming on it unless i figure out how to play two games at once on one pc like cod on the main screen and maybe a mini game in between loading times on the second screen
    • somehow fixed my other monitor that wouldn't respond to on off button now it does and they both sync on and off.. Slow wake time is non issue for me as I just want something that works
    • pretty nice stand has decent manoeuvrability and good normal height range from stand
    • physical buttons non existent it's all touch sensitive buttons which can be annoying when adjusting the monitor and accidentally sliding your fingers by the touch buttons on the bottom right
    • stand has a nice cable organiser hole in the middle if needed
    • fairly heavy and frame seems like it could easily crack if applied too much pressure on it so be careful and gentle
    • comes with power cable, hdmi cable, stand (base and neck) and a lot of safety packaging very safely packed in a big box

Looking for some video quality fine tuning help and settings but as of right now pretty happy with the buy so far just kind of thinking if i could have fit a larger screen in its place instead but right now using my case as a monitor stand so hopefully it is strong enough to hold it for a long time

  • Got two, just in case one was smashed.

    One was smashed.

Boxes they came in were too narrow, so they are positioned in them tilted up at an angle. One corner was pointed towards the bottom of the box, with just 25mm bubble wrap to protect it from being dropped. Filling the gaps otherwise were plastic bags filled with air.

Clearly a drop shocked it and the case clips cracked open all around the edge. The main board mounting, and the VESA mount have moved and it won't work.

Just because the packing was so flimsily done. The number that get smashed due to a half job in the warehouse must be huge.

    • My vesa mount was also in a wired shape, which I could fix after much effort

@Calmago teach your fellas how to pack, this happened to mine as well.

  • I only play World of tanks and just browse the web , a bit of home office . Do you think one of these would be ok for me or should I go for better?
    Thanks
