  • Makes the dual controller bundle for the cheapest ever price!

Evidently some neggers disagree. I bet they won't link where it was.

      • Yeah. Nor will they revel themselves.

  • +3

Console without the extra controller is also $724 Delivered.

    • They’re matching Big W too

    • Thanks updated. It was a rush when I got the 3x🐪 notification.

      • +1

Or just a notification in general……

        • 🤪

  • Check AMEX offers for the Sony spend more than $500 offer get $100 back offer.

If the offer is available, go to Sony's site to request a price match and once approved, win!

    • dont have the offer :(

      • Check your emails, sometimes it doesn't show up directly in the app

    • That offer expired end of May

      • +1

theres a new one expires end of July

        • yup correct.

I used that offer when Amazon dropped the price of the PS5 disc version to $697. And then I got another email from Sony about that same offer again.

          • @quackie: anyway to get them to issue the offer?

            • @yman0240020281: It's targeted so I'm guessing no?

All I know is that I've been receiving these offers from AMEX. The latest email offer from Sony was a week ago. Did check the app for the offer but it wasn't there. Came through on email.

        • Damn I didn’t get this

        • Thanks for the heads up, I'm waiting for the standalone disc edition (one controller) to hit sub 600 then will bite. Between now and the Sony deal expiry, I see that happening.

    • +1

Just got Sony Australia to price match the single controller version for $724, going to buy the second controller separately after for around $65 to $69. One way you can use everyday extra to get 10 percent off from Big W to bring the price down $67.5. If you haven’t signed up with it before you get 30 days free trial period.

      • How do you get them to price match?

  • +2

Its kinda weird that its a deal (which I guess it is now), I mean I paid $750 for the disc version back in 2021

      • Ok deal vs good deal, still a deal?

    • It still is irrespective of the price jump considering a Dualsense controller can be had for $49.

  • +2

Remember during COVID times, these are like inflated to 2x the RRP on the fleabay/ scumtree…

  • +1

I’m so bloody torn. I wanna get but I’m gonna be bummed if I buy and less than 6 months later a slim version comes out.

    Am I waiting for nothing?

    • +7

I'm waiting. Already waited this whole time without missing it. Plus, current one is F huge!

      • Same here, and it's ugly AF. I sold mine simply because I didn't like the size and look of it and the piano black finish is begging for scratches.
If you care about the design and aesthetics of anything you purchase, give this a solid miss. It has way too many flaws that can't be ignored.

    • I mean, you waited 2+ years, what's another 1? I am personally waiting but also, if you have a game you really eager to play, then maybe bite. For example, I am a final fantasy fan and FF16 coming out but don't know if I should bite.

      • Oh man I'm in same boat. Sold on the ff16. Might just wait for pc port at this point. Too many games to play.

      • +1

same but in it for Spiderman 2 too. HODL

      • Same here. Waiting for FF16 and FF7.

I also want to play God of War Ragnarok and Spiderman.

Tempted to bite now so I can play the games already released so am ready for FF

    • I'll keep waiting. Tbh the game catalogue isn't that extensive yet. Also, game prices are still quite high.

    • +3

It's crazy how I picked up my PS4 3 years after released for $359, but 2.5 years after release the PS5 is still $750.

I'm waiting (I did own one but sold into the hype), more than enough PS4 and earlier gen games still worth playing in my backlog. Historically a Slim or Pro model is due to be announced soon.

Last gen I waited for the PS4 Slim/Pro to come out and then ended up buying the old model while on clearance, the same may happen with the PS5.

Newer games like GT7 still run great on PS4 (playing on 27" 4K monitor - YMMV if you are on an 80" TV)

      • yeah ps4 pro deal was really good on amazon for $3xx

This gen console is roughly selling for the same price it was when it was released..
        just ridiculous

      • You seen the PS4 now still being retailed for +$400!

    • As tempted as I am I think I’ll wait for the slim. I really don’t like the current body design.

Also the only games I want to play is ff16 and god of war rag. By end of year I’ll have Spider-Man 2 and ff7r to consider. That’s an good amount. So yea. I’ll wait.

This comment is mostly for me to convince myself to wait.

      • And convince me too 😝

    • The current PS5 model is already on the 3rd version, the 1200 model. It weighs less (by 200g!), uses less power (218W vs 201W!!), quieter (48db vs 45db!!!), and has better thermal performance (53c vs 52.5c!!!!). Okay, so it is only a minor revision aimed at reducing costs, but it seems it has also improved from the original launch model, if only a little.

Bench mark is $649 GOW disc version

    • +1

Waiting for this deal to come back.

    • +1

GOW was just a voucher code, so the value is worth less since there is no resale value..

$623 is probably best deal price

      • Yep, $623 is the benchmark without GOW going by the recent Gamesmen deal.
I think we will see it drop to $600 in no time.

        • I think there is rumour of a slim and pro model due out in 2023 and 2024…
this is inline with past releases of the PS4 updated models
This makes it less incentive to buy now if you have held out for so long already.

if buy now then they release it next year or end of this year
you feel some regret / buyers remorse that didn't wait a bit longer.

      • :) I personally want to play this famous game.

I paid $768 for Disc Edition Dual Controler via Ebay with Afterpay discount coupons and cashback 2 months back

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/762767

  • +5

Wasn't this $620ish recently? Not sure how much of a deal this is.

    • There's a difference between the Disc and Digital versions.

    • Looks like only with a discount coupon which is unusual because generally they don't give discount coupons for PS5 consoles. The normal price that i can see they've got it for is $822.95. The ebay discount coupon actually gave 22% off the PS5 console and so i don't think you're going to see that again.

  • Which one better after sales support Amazon or big w ?

    • +3

Amazon for me due to ease of returns and problem resolution.

    • +3

Big W for me due to ease of returns and problem resolution.

      • +2

        Literally this.
Much easier walking into a bricks and mortar store than initiating an online return.

    • +2

Big Amazon for me due to ease of returns and problem resolution.

      • +3

I am on the fence for returns at Amazon.
My PS5 had a faulty disk drive. I couldn't order an exchange, but had to go though and get a refund.

The actual return was quite easy, just needed to take it to the post office, and they scanned a barcode and done…
But now I am in this weird limbo of waiting for the return to be completed. Although it took 1 day to have it delivered to me, I haven't had the PS5 for over 10 days now, and there is no guarantee I can repurchase the item at the sale price I originally got it for.

At least with a physical store you get it sorted straight away.

        • +1

I was in similar situation, I bought a hose reel for 32aud or something, it broke after 2months?? and asked for an exchange, they could not, so I returned it, they refunded whole 32aud and they also provided a voucher/credit(60aud+/-) for me so I can still buy the item again which was then already around 90aud+/-…

So amazon pretty good, but can't explain the delay in the refund.. amazon voucher is quicker than refund back to credit card. I think refund back to card takes 5-7business days from their receipt of faulty item, whereas amazon voucher/credit takes only a day max from receipt.

Try to follow-up with them thru chat and be nice. :-)

        • Same here mate. I also got myself a ps5 with a faulty disc drive and currently waiting for them to issue a refund. I dropped off the faulty package at Auspost on 2nd June, on the amazon website the package was delivered on 6th June and a week later, there's no still news on the status of the refund process.

Tried calling up as well as used the live chat, both times they told me because it's a high-priced item (799), it might take as long as 3 weeks (not 5-7 business days as stated on the website) to process the PS5 refund and have my money returned to my bank account. The best the agent can do at the moment is to escalate it to the relevant department to investigate and they will follow up with me within 24 hours.

    • +2

Amazon W for me due to ease of returns and problem resolution.

      • Thanks, was trying to think of the other option.

  • +1

Will this work with SSDs? (/s)

      • what is the usual answer?
