  • Thats pretty mad. Take out the HDD and put in an SSD and boom.

Radeon 7670M is about on Par with the nvidia GT630M, not the BEST for gaming, but better then expected for a business laptop!

    • -1

      AMD Radeon™ HD 7670M 1GB DDR3 is a 40nm chip VS 28nm Kepler based 630m GPU

so the 40nm 7670M ues allot more power eating into battery

  • This is an awesome awesome deal, I am surprised there aren't more votes. You're not going to find a 1080p screen this side of 1000 that easily, Vostro quality is a bonus.

    • The MSI GE60 would be a good contender, its a little more expensive than the Dell but boasts a much more powerful gfx card and also has full hd res.

No it doesn't have a 1920x1080 screen. A 1080p screen has TWICE the pixels compared to a 1366x768 screen and anyone can clearly tell the difference. People who are happy with 768p screens have just never used anythign better, which is a tragedy.

This deal is for people who this that the screen, the part of the laptop you'll be staring at, is at least as important as whether it has an i5 or i7 and battery life and looks.

      • Your looking at the wrong one, this is the one with the 1080p screen,

        http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&c…

        • Ive looked at the MSI site and all the GE60 series seem to have the full hd screen.

I've heard bad things about battery life on these. Can anyone confirm?

    • -1

they are big, heavy and battery inst that great. for $150 more you can get yourself a much much faster Samsung laptop http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/77975

Samsung NP550P5C-S03AU with a 650m double the ram, awesome speakers and much better all around laptop

      • But a 1366 x 768 screen instead of a 1920 x 1080 one.

      • No. Not a grainy screen you can visibly see pixels on, that's not a compromise anyone should be making today and not something any ocmpany sohuld be allwoed to get away with.

        • Samsung NP550P5C-S03AU has a 1600x900 screen

    • From a review i found: "Dell provides the Vostro 3560 with a 6-cell battery, which we tested by setting the notebook to play a DVD continuously until the (fully-charged) battery expired. It managed a disappointing 2 hours and 36 minutes under these conditions"

So probably 4-5 hours in power saving mode just doing word docs id guess. Not too bad for the grunt you get.
If you want long battery life get an ultrabook, its partly what they are designed for :)

Samsung NP550P5C-S03A makes this thing look like a pile of junk! apart from the screen

        http://www.mln.com.au/product/?itemID=3950

        • For gaming yeah, its also $217 ($117 after cashback) more expensive. They are different catagories though, the Dell is business grade where the sammy is consumer. Dell has a much better warranty (even covers accidental damage).

        • true…dell's xps warranty sends technician and replacement part to home/work based on phone/email support…

          have a xps m1530 over 4yr old and had 3yrs cover…

This laptop is good for people who's into body building.

    • lmao, one might need some corn fed beef too.

    • I am 22 years old man. I am trying to build my body because I think that I have thin body structure. Three months are passed for joining the gym. With the help of special trainer and protein supplement (ON's Serious Mass) I am trying to build the body.

But I am not getting result i.e. biceps, triceps, forearms, wrists are still same. These parts are not developing. Only chest part, back portion and legs are developing.

I am very much under depression because I am very serious about bodybuilding supplements www.bodybuildingbestsupplements.com. Please give me solutions to solve this problem.

Showing up as $999 when I click on the link.

    • Same here.

    • Me too, was wondering what I was doing wrong.

I guess Dell moves fast when prices are incorrect :(

  • showing $999 for me

    • same here.

      • It's now $799 with extra 2GB RAM (total 6GB) and 750GB HDD after using 0B3SG$NW3M1VLM coupon code (20% off).

  • Tempted for $899, but now it is back already :(

  • The deal seems to be expired now as mentioned in the post that "expires tonight" as of 23/08/2012. The one that show AUD999 is with more RAM and HDD size: 6GB RAM and 750G HDD.

  • get a mini desktop

  • -2

Personally, I would rather get a Horize W25B which is also $899. It mightn't come with Windows 7(which $100 extra), or an i7 but the graphics card is much, much better.

    • -1

Clevo laptops are great for high end gaming, the one you listed costs $1197 if you get a current get I7 & Windows options.

      • Honestly, the i5 is fine and most of the time the i7 is overkill.

This model listed on dell australia factory outlet for just $749, website says brand new, also confirmed with dell online representative.

real deal for $749 with a FHD screen, as well as quad i7 & not bad dedicated graphic card

    • Updated the listing so ozb's can grab these! Credit in post to you aswell ;)

      • this is tricky because the outlet website says only 3 brand new units left with the price of $749

however on the dell aus website, you can order this model for the price of $899 as many as you can…

WTF do both dell aus and outlet belong to dell ? I do think they have enough stock

PS: I ordered one already and plan to upgrade RAM to 8GB

        • Dell outlet is still Dell. They usually put on there referbs but sometimes limited stocks of new stuff for much cheaper, just low quantity.

Price on Dell site is $999 now for the laptop

    • DAMNIT! I ordered this thing two days ago and it wasn't on the outlet store then! It's already in the shipping phase so I can't cancel! DAMN IT!

      • one possible solution is ordering one now at $749 and do not accept the previous one when it delivers to your door then.

and you can also talk to dell about this issue and I think they will be happy to help you.

        Do it and save $150

        • A solid idea and wish I'd seen it earlier, but all out of stock now.

        • you can still order the $999 model online and apply the coupon code to have 20% off

$799 for current model with bonus 2g ram and 250 hdd, good buy

    OB3SG$NW3M1VLM
Use this code for 20% off Vostro laptops/desktops valid till 30th August

    • +1

"We're sorry, the coupon code you have entered is invalid. Please check the spelling of the code and the expiration date of the coupon."

    • +2

      Should be

      0B3SG$NW3M1VLM

      ;)

      • Yes the code works on dell aus official website

seems like current vostro3560 laptop on sale is the one with 6g RAM & 750g HDD, which is a little bit better than the one on outlet list

so $999 on sale and $799.21 after coupon discount

2g RAM and 250g HDD worth $50 ? you judge.

  • Maybe we should post a new deal for the $799 Vostro 3560 deal?

    • Well the original post was for the vostro 3560 for $899, I updated to the outlet one later because the deal finished. So $799 is better!
