Mop cleaning / refill system in the ultra dock is the biggest factor. Otherwise you need to refill the unit with water and manually take out the mopping pad each time.
The ultra washes the mop. I don't really see the point of this configuration. If you want something that mops well you need to wash the mop regularly (10-15mins) otherwise you're just mopping the floor with a dirty rag. In this case you'd want the Ultra dock, so the robot can visit the dock regularly to wash the mop and continue.
If you don't need it to mop there are plenty of cheaper models that don't have great mopping performance but have great vacuum performance so get one of these with an auto empty dock.
If you mop infrequently or only have a small area and happy to change it manually, it's a good option.
As long as people are aware changing it frequently is every 10-15mins if you don't want to be mopping with a dirty pad. My house is an average family sized house but takes over 100mins of mopping to clean downstairs so would be 8 - 12 changes. If I have to stand there while it does it to keep changing it and washing it, it's probably more efficient to mop manually.
If you have a small area to mop that only takes the vac 15mins max, it's probably 5 mins to vacuum and 5 mins to mop manually…would need to decide if worth it…
Suggestions for any good vacuum-only (or so-so mopping) one with autoempty dock? I am considering one for carpets only.
Check out the Q7/Q7 Max. I haven't used them but heard they have good suction for carpets.
Was eyeing this off as well.. decent price, but shame it's not the ultra dock.. might hold off for while longer.
does the xiaomi version through costco work with the app in Australia? im very confused with the international versioning and the apps available. also, just want a sub $1000 for the S7 MaxV or S8 with no docks.

never mind.. one is just a S7+ and the other is a MaxV
Pretty happy with it overall but its loud AF. Interferes with meetings, concentration etc. if you WFH.
