          • @abcd: any outcom?

            • +2

@capslock janitor: Contacted Oppo support about the outcome or any progress update for my trade in phone. They advised to contact Moorup tech for follow up which I did last week. Their response as follow:
'Our device assessments are completed in batches and are for our own internal purposes. It is our understanding that Oppo should have already provided you the value of your device trade in. Please follow up directly with Oppo if you have any further queries'
Made a phone call to Moorup tech to tell them I already got the value of trade in phone and just wanting to confirm whether it meets all the eligibility criteria. The person i spoke to dont know anything about Oppo trade in program. They said they'll speak with their management and call back…

              • @abcd: So guessing there was no callback?

                • +2

@Bloodfart: Not yet.. unsure whether they'll send us notification irrespective of whether trade in phone is ok or not.

  • Can anybody confirm the time between placing the order and the shipping date? I placed the order 3 days ago and it still hasn't been shipped out yet. There were multiple fraud checks sent out by Oppo admin and I verified them all. I contacted support and was just told to be patient. is this normal?

    • Same here 😮‍💨

    • same here x2

  • Can anyone suggest if we can ship a different phone to what we input at the time of order? I am just curious as I could put tom6600 and it would be accepted for tradein. Also I have phones that have screens smashed, can I send that phone as long as it is unlocked, turns on? Keen to get people's input. I wont open the device until I have a green signal from the vendor.

    • I asked if I could send a different phone to what I had inputted, they said no. I doubt a smashed screen would meet eligibility requirements either.

(iv) be in good working order

  • well, this arrived today, pretty quick turn around.

Setup is an issue, it cycles between not seeing the network, not able to download updates and not able to sign into google (yes, i've verified the device on google)

3 factory resets later and i've emailed them asking for a refund for a faulty unit

    • Have you tried a different network?

      • Good thinking, I'll try with a voda sim

    • Mine wouldn't cooperate with the home 5ghz network at all. Still need to find an external 5ghz network to test it on.

      • You can always create a wifi hotspot on your previous phone.

        • yep, 2.4 / 5ghz, mobile, connected with cable to PC - the most i can push it gets to google account sync, then it does another infinite death loop (yes, i've checked and authorised the device) …

it just seems buggy as hell, maybe if you wanted to buy a flagship so that you could gaolbreak it??

    • Mine had the same issue. You need to skip everything at the beginning, then update ColorOS. Then I used my backup on Google One account to transfer my old phone data. Haven't had any issues since.

      • yep, their support sent me similar instructions, basically no sim, no wifi, offline setup, then connect to network & google & all of the things after it's setup

  • Can't find the Australia Post return label that was provided. It's not on the box that was delivered.

Is the address to send the trade in phone:

    Oppo Online
    Unit 4a 5 Talavera Rd
    Macquarie Park NSW 2113

    • No, it looks like OPPO nominated a third party to receive the recyled phones.
In my package, OPPO provided an Australia Post satchels, with a return label sticked on.
The address on the label is in below
      Moonup Technology Pty Ltd
      PO Box 176
      Watsonia VIC 3087

I guess, if OPPO needs to track if you have returned your recycled phone, they should have some sort of tracking, which may link to the bar code or QR code on the label. If you don't see the shipping label, you may need to ask OPPO.

    • +1

Mine had a return label for

      Moorup Technology Pty ltd

  • So does charging with non-Oppo chargers actually work for anyone? Mine says charging, but the battery percentage just goes down.

    • Using bunch of chargers and they all work
Even crappy old car charger with 2.1amp output

      • Thanks - worked it out. Looks like the phone is weirdly incompatible with one specific Aliexpress cable brand.

  • How to check is that carrier version phone or not?

    • On the box sticker with all the barcodes should have Optus or Vodafone or Telstra written on

      • One nothing written no app of any telco preinstalled

        • Do you have dual Sim tray?

      • Nothing on my pro either

  • Hey guys, anyone notice the max brightness on Find X5 Pro is not as bright as Find X2 Pro?

    Or, i got a dud.

  • Not sure if there is a bug or deal has ended. I am able to successfully place order for Find X5 but few seconds later, I get an email that order has been cancelled. Tried it twice but both orders cancelled.

  • Got the X5 Pro. Pretty happy with it so far…
Does anyone else have the issue that there is no tone when your call ends? I can't find to see any settings to turn it onand it's driving me crazy.

  • It doesn't have e-sim?

    • Mine does

      • you received a dual sim from this deal?

        • +1

          Single SIM tray with esim

          SIM slot 1 (physical)
          SIM slot 2 (esim)

  • does this have 1xsim + 1x esim?

  • I got delivered today, it doesn't see any Carrier logo around the box, it shows 2 x IMEI number listed at back (should be dual sim), the parcel also comes with trade-in return parcel.

    • Mine same no logo no app from telco

      • They may run out of carrier version and sent us normal retail version (instead of cancelling order)

        • That's I felt but it should not be dual Sim?

          • @hurr1cane: they all should be single physical sim + esim

  • Good deal but not epic like the $888 eBay deal including tablet last year. I didn’t actually get a tablet, sold out and instead a $500 voucher. I bought a $599 phone from the store and sold for $500. $488 for the pro x5 in the end!

the trade-in final price shiuld not be headliner serr

    • +2

If you actually bothered to read the comments, this is a trade in deal and you get $700 off as long as you pick a phone that turns on. Doesn't need to be on any list.

      • -1

        All working phones? 🤯

        • +1

          Read description mate.

          • +1

@CodeXD: There is only 1 user I have blocked who spams useless comments and needs to be spoon fed everything. Not hard to work out who.

  • it is not expired, it still alive and works

    • Thanks for letting me know. Don't know who expired it.

      • +1

I think there is a default expiry date if the deal end date is not filled in, could be 3 weeks iirc.

        • That makes sense.

          • @shxhshzhz: The sold out Find X5 Pro in black and white has been replaced with Reno8 dual sim and Reno8 single sim in case you want to update the deal.

            • @OldYella: I'll put it into the description. Is the reno8 a downgrade compared to the x5 and pro?

Edit I'll make a new post for it. This post is quite old.

  • Placed my order on Sunday for the Find X5, received it today, so pretty fast delivery (within Sydney). Letting it run through all the OS updates before migrating it over.

Seems to look like a normal retail unit with no carrier branding or apps, and it came with an additional protective case (even though there was already one packed in).

    • Has your phone box got any carrier logo? My Fine X5 has Vodafone logo on the box, I still haven't opened the box yet. I'm going to wait until they receive my phone to make sure it's ok before opening the box.

      • +1

Nope, no branding whatsoever on the box or within the OS itself (apart from a few things like PUBG mobile and some social media apps preinstalled). Looks just a standard retail unit.

The OS update did take a really long time, went through nearly 10GB of downloads to get up to the latest version. Must have been in storage for ages.

I am not sure how Oppo is tracking the traded in phone though - seems to be just a mailing bag with a postage label. Probably they could link the tracking number to the order, but if they weren't, I could probably get away with sending nothing back and get to have two phones. However I not going to risk that.

  • The Au Post tracker shows the trade-in company has received my trade in phone, is it mean all done? or is there any email confimation from Oppo?

    • Here is my interaction with Oppo's chat service regarding confirmation:

Oppo: Hello. Thank you for contacting OPPO. My name is Xxxxxx. How may I assist you?

Me: Hi there. I bought an Oppo Find X5 Pro on the trade-in deal. The phone arrived on Monday 4th and according to AusPost tracking my trade-in was delivered on Friday 7th. Do you know if I will be contacted to advise whether my trade-in is accepted on not?

Oppo: For this Xxxxx, you would need to wait until they perform inspection upon the phone first then they will reach out to you again.

Oppo: And no worries, you can use the new phone.

Me: The new phone is still sitting in the delivery box unsealed. I don't want to start using it only to find that my trade-in phone has been deemed unsuitable for some obscure reason.

      Oppo: I understand.

Oppo: The service center/trade-in team will reach out to you again after inspection is done.

Personally I'm still happy with my Find X2 Pro and the new phone is for someone else so no pressure to open it until I hear from someone. The phone I traded in was in excellent condition despite being 12 years old.
I reckon they've had more than enough time to let me know one way or the other.

What are other Ozbargainers doing. Just going for it and hoping for the best?

      • +2

I needed the new phone, so used it before I sent the old phone back.
Not my problem anymore once I placed it in the mail, didn't even bother tracking it.
It's laughable to think Oppo will even spend the time checking your trade-in phone.
Like, exactly what are they going to do with it? Most likely just throw it in a pile and let a phone recycling company take care of the rest.

  • We just need to put our old phone in Australia Post satchels provided in the box right or do we have to place the satchels in any box?
Also charger and cable i only have 3rd party charger and cable can i just put those or just ignore.

    • Ok i did live chat with oppo customer service they said charger not required only phone and proof of purchase is required.
Proof of purchase what are you all submitting?

      • How do we have proof of purchase of over decade ago brought phone 😂

      • +1

I wrapped my phone only (no charger) in a layer of bubble wrap before putting it in the AusPost satchel and after signing the consignment note I photographed it.
The instructions that come in the delivery box don't say to include the charger or proof of purchase and the Ts & Cs say you're only required to produce proof of purchase if requested.

  • what is the OPPO competitor / winner of Pixel 7 Pro?

  • Does anyone have a problem with their WIFI? it keeps dropping (it said connected - but no data connection) and you need to turn off and on the wifi to make it work again, and then drop out again. reset network, reset setting even full reset wont help.

    • i have find x5 not pro … so far no issues with wifi

  • Anyone received anything regarding trade in phone yet? Safe to assume everything is good if haven't heard anything from Oppo trade in team by now?

    • how long has it been so far with urs?

      • Austpost tracking shows my trade in phone got delivered to Moorup tech on 5th July. I followed up to confirm but Moorup has no clue and unaware of Oppo trade in program which is pretty ridiculous. They keep saying they'll find out about Oppo trade in program and get back to me, but havent heard anything. Not sure how they are going to track trade in phones getting delivered to them if they dont even know anything about it.
Btw, I've sent a trade in phone which is like 8 years old

        • thats really weird. i'm still waiting for the order but will send in my iphone 5.

btw- have u unboxed ur new phone or just keep waiting for another few days?

          • @xmm3000: Its been almost a month since my trade in phone got delivered. Haven't heard anything despite following up many times, so I've opened the box a few days ago.

  • so the new phone is dual physical sim or 1 physical + 1 esim?? thanks

    • Mine is 1 physical. Vodafone branded. not sure about eSIM as I have never use one before

      • good to know. and i double checked the web site, the find x5 comes with 1 physical + 1 esim which is exactly what i want

        • I am using the X5 Pro with esim x1 and physical sim x1

  • Just wanted to get real life experience with X5 Pro compare to Samsung S22 Ultra or X5? - performance, camera, software, durability etc
Currently using a budget android but would like to move to this so thought of checking.

  • I've got a P30 Pro that has intermittent bottom microphone issues.

Anyone think this would be a problem?

  • Anyone has issue with Oppo Find X5? I have got many cut off mid conversation during phone calls. Never had the issue before with my old Samsung Galaxy S20 FE. Contacted Oppo support for a return & refund and told to send in the phone to their repair center for assess. Not happy with a brand new phone.

    • -2

You are probably with Optus or Optus reseller. Change to Telstra or Vodafone and try again.

      • I am on Boost and i didn't change provider/SIM card, just swapped the same SIM card into this new phone.

        • Boost here as well but without calls issues

    • No calls cutting off for me. Have you considered the sim card might be the problem? Possibly not seated properly in the tray or dirty contacts. Sim cards can go faulty and cause intermittent network problems.
If you can try another sim card from a friend or family in your phone and it still drops calls at least you can include that info in the comments when you send it in for repair.

    • Mine I seen some time screen does not turn on for unlock couple of time press its goes on
