Howdy

We have a bunch of these Fujitsu Laptops to clear out as part of our EOFY sale.

Intel i5 6300u
16Gb Ram
512Gb SSD
12.5" HD Display
Windows 10 Pro

Cosmetically very good condition, batteries are tested to be a minimum 60% +. The majority of stock is much higher however we are not able to source replacement batteries for these at the moment.

The whole site is 10% off, so there are a few hidden gems. Especially in the Audio equipment.

Dont think I've known anyone whos bought Fujitsu product for the past 2 decades LOL

    • +6

      Fujitswho?

      • +1

        Fujitshoo

    • +6

fujitsu aircon is fine and still selling well

      • How about the new one that they replace with plastic hose?

        • @edgar28 Can you elaborate? I know someone looking to buy their split systems…

    • -1

And I don't know many businesses who supply employees with Acer laptops. Fujitsu don't really make retail consumer stuff (ignoring AC which is a different company in Australia).

    • +4

I used to worked in one of Fujitsu’s asian branches 25 years ago. They had products ranging from consumer PCs, POS systems to mainframe computers and even ATM machines. They also bought (merger?) ICL which was one of the largest British ICT company at that time. I still remember the first Fujitsu laptop I bought was the B110 subnotebook (A5 size) which costed me more than one month salary but it was so compact compared to other people’s IBM laptops weighted at least 3kg at that time.

I work in IT and we just got rid of these and they are the worst computers I have touched in a long time. Very Very slow on Win 10…. so buyer beware. Im sure if you run Win10 out of the box no Active Directory and SCCM etc on them they "may" be fine. But no thanks.

      Fujitspoo?

      • +2

Yes.. very much so. Their support isn't as good as Lenovo or Dell as well.

      • Fujitsu

    • +3

Interesting, I wonder why that is as the hardware doesn't seem too bad.

      • +2

Dual core processor is where I point my finger (just a gutless processor), just couldn't handle Win 10 and Office with Teams and other stuff running and SCCM / AD running in the background they bogged down and ran like crap.

        • +1

It's crazy how old the pre-7xxxU feels now. I own a first gen Xiaomi laptop and that thing can't even run Runescape on integrated graphics without frame drop due to all the back ground processes.

There's modified windows out there, but i think you might as well use linux at that point.

    • Very Very slow on Win 10

      …even with SSDs ?

      PS:
A debloated Win10 should run smoothly on SSDs.

      • +4

Yes, these are the exact same machines we had. SSD drives etc. Trust me I wish they didnt run like dogshit. If you want to get one go ahead, Im just telling you my experience of these. And we had like 500 of them.

Plus we don't run debloated images in the corporate world.

    • +1

" just got rid of these and t"
well probably these are the stock from your company! you said 500 units right? lol

  • +1

Would anyone interested if it was $70 dollars? No warranty

    • +1

      Yes please

    • +1

      sounds reasonable

    • +1

      Yeah

    • +1

      Im in!

    • +1

      Yep

    • +1

      Absolutely

    • +1

      Count me in

    • +2

Definitely. I'm looking for a cheap laptop for my mum for light internet use.

    • +1

      Just take my money…

    • +1

      Um yes

    • +2

      Probably 2 or 3

  • 168 available.

  • +2

@Calmago - in the website the pulldown menu under accessories has "audio equipment" spelled as equiptment.

  • +4

Anything below 8th gen is not worth it anymore.

    • +1

IMO Anything below 8th gen will continue to drop in prices until Windows 10 EOL. These machines will be very good if someone like to run Linux, but I am confident these will be even cheaper in coming days.

    • +3

Anything below 8th gen is still worth something, just not $200.

      • Yeah fair point

      • Especially grade B…. Only advantage is 12 months warranty

Not clear whether it is NVME or not too

        • 0 chance of nvme on these, this processor is around 8 years old.

  • It should be illegal to sell "business" laptops with TN screens! And I mean illegal for the producers.

    • +4

TN is still enough to differentiate red and black in Excel

    • +4

eh TN is fine given the price point, 1366x768 is the real crime here.

  • +1

If it's good enough for Mark Taylor, it's good enough for me.

  • Hanging out for another deal on a surface pro. Got one last time, now the partner is eyeing off mine

  • +4

    I would recommend against buying a dual-core laptop in 2023 - it's not a fun time.

  • As a heads up, Germany is a big user of Fujitsu hardware because the power footprint is very very low, better than most. They need this because they are under energy stress. I would suggest if you are looking for reliable, eco friendly hardware then consider Fujitsu. I spoke to a wholesaler in Australia. This country is poorly represented. However, they are looking at ramping up. For those interested, you can get a motherboard low watt test list and hear about it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MucGkPUMjNo

    • Maybe because they were called Fujitsu Siemens some time ago? If they use the same power hungry Intel processors like others, I don't see how they can have lower power footprint.

  • assuming these would these be ok for Netflix, Youtube, casual browsing in a non corporate environment (ie, no AD, SCCM, Office with Teams)

  • Bought a surface 6 with these guys and they are good. Minor use and scratches on the back. But the machine works great and the battery delivers. These guys are legit good

  • Does it come with a SIM card slot?

    • @Calmago

      • Howdy

I can see a sim slot, however, I don't belive these units have a WANN card installed. So not LTE compatible.

  • Would it be any good for a kid starting yr7 next yr!? 🤔

    • No, the main issue is the 2 cores. If you're buying used get a CPU with 4 cores or more. The recent Dell deals with processors like I5-6XXXHQ are OK for a Yr 7. Also have a mindset to replace again in 2 yrs with whatever used models are available then.

You can find out how many cores by typing the model # in Google (i.e. 6300u) and go to the product page.

  • OP, when does the offer end?

    • +1

      Ends Friday

  • Any in FHD resolution?
