No, you need a Wacom EMR pen (loads more to choose from than USI anyways).

Thanks, I was finding it kind of confusing. Ended up just buying a spare from remarkable.

  • Are you sure that this is compatible with the Duet 5?

My understanding is that this USI 2.0 is NOT backward compatible with the older Chromebooks. The Lenovo site says this pen is compatible with the new Duet 3 only (https://smartfind.lenovo.com/accessories/#/products/GX81J619…). I believe the Duet 5 is based on the original, version 1 USI pen, so buyer beware.

    • From my understanding, the USI Pen 2 should be backward compatible (as per Chrome Unboxed)

The Lenovo Chromebook Duet 3 requires the Lenovo USI Pen 2 for it to work.

    • USI 2.0 displays are not always backwards compatible - the stylus is. Some USI 2.0 displays could theoretically work with USI 1.0 pens, but not ones like the Duet 3 that use in-cell technology. I don't know if such backwards-compatible displays actually exist in the wild.

  • Does this work with the Microsoft Surface Pro series?

Surface only support the proprietary Microsoft Pen Protocol (MPP), but some third-party pens may support multiple protocols, so be sure to check carefully to ensure MPP is explicitly mentioned.

As far as I know this pen should work on USI 1.0 devices. More info: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O9Tz10zpaIw
