I installed it on my laptop and the laptop became crazily slow and periodically freezed. As soon as I uninstalled it my laptop began to work fast again.
Luckily it was the one which I got for free as per the previous deal and I didn't lose money.
It scans your entire system right after installation and it may take a while. Once it's done it should be silent and doesn't take up much resources, unless it's on a very old laptop.

Got the deal, however when it tried to uninstall Norton it froze and i wasn't able to uninstall it. So i could only install the lite version on my laptop. Is there a way around this? thank you
Norton is notoriously difficult to uninstall. Google uninstall Norton, there are a few guides around but not guaranteed to work because they depend on which version you have.

Purchased two separately for total security ,5 devices to add to my existing subscription. The first one went well had the option to extend my existing subscription. The second purchase gave no option to extend just start another new subscription. Got onto chat and a couple of things that I was told that I thought I would share. You as user cannot extend over 5 years by default. Chat would not add my second purchase to extend my account however they have opened a ticket so this may still occur. I said that I would hold onto the code for a few months and apply then when I’m under 5 years. They said not go as Bitdefender activates on date of purchase not on activation ( which is not what other people in this thread have said) . I checked my account and yes my second subscription says activated although I had not put my code into the one box option that I had. So maybe they have changed this. Also, yes auto renewal was activated on both codes in central so be careful you have to halt auto renew twice ( as previously mentioned). So if you are close to 5 years in front don’t do it and turn off auto renew.
Info from chat “ : I don't recommend that, the validities for codes purchased from bitdefender.com start from the day of the purchase, not the day of the activation. Please wait for a reply from my colleagues as they should be able to merge your purchases for you.”
Just received an email saying that I still haven't activated a few codes, even though my Central said that they were activated (but I immediately deactivate them on day 1). Seems safe to use them later.
I did request support to activate them on my existing account which has 4+ years left, they still haven't come back to me yet.
I can't seem to get it to work. The price comes up ok when you click on the link from here but when you go to checkout, the price comes up as $149.99.
It needs a coupon code to get the price. I have tried icognito mode and in both Google and Edge browsers.

Bitdefender support came through. They did apply my second $15 12 months extension to my account. Puts me well over the 5 years. Credit to them
