I haven't gotten a offer in like 2 years except their stupid cutlery points crap.

Should I just delete and create a new account?

    • +45

I would wait another 2 years just to be sure.

    • Probably should, I get these offers 4-5 times a year, maybe because I got a Cole credit card?

      • we don't have their credit cards or insurance products and we both get them regularly.

      • I got the coles credit card but i havent had this offer for a long time…

      • Flybuys didn't send any offer to me. So, I got a new card using a new email (but the same home address). At the start, there were some simple *5 poitns or other craps for ~4 wekes. Now, I don't receive any offer again with this new account!
I guess they know that I am the same points junky member, but with a new card, so they send no offer again.

        Any similar experience?

        • Same. Been getting only 5x points for the last 1 year since I got a new card.

      • I have a Coles credit card and i still never get this.

    • +3

Just sign up for new account!
      Have 2 accounts for family.

Offer usually alternates between 2 accounts with 2-4 week gap. Occasionally becomes $60, so give card a break & $50 offer resumes😉

Checked - arrived on other card to one used last month.

Use stored $50 on card from last offer (used 20/6), to pay first week of new $50 offer on other card💰

Only use cards when receive these offers. Usually combine with other bonus offers - have 1000 pt for $50.

      • +1

How do you use the second card, to pay for the first card? How does this work?

      • So, for example, if you have a spend $50 in store for 2000 FBs can you still pay $50 with either FB dollars or gift cards and still meet the criteria for the bonus flybuys?

        • +1

Yes - can pay with FB dollars or Coles gift card to qualify for bonus pts. That's what I do every time.

    • +1

Key is not just waiting, but also not spending and scanning your card.
If you keep scanning your card and spending, then they have no reason to send an offer because you are a spending customer already.
If still no offers, just close the card and apply for a new one (make sure to update linked accounts to new FB number! like credit card points transfer, liquorland, coles online etc.)

      • Key is not just waiting, but also not spending and scanning your card.

Great because I haven't shopped at Coles in over a year and nothing.

      • +1

I have 3 cards for fam members I manage

I got an offer (20k points for $140 spend) on my card that I spend and scan all the time as it has Coles Plus trial linked.

I got an offer for 10k points for $60 spend on the card I use less (normally once a month for first choice or liquorland bonus points)

I got no offer on the 2-weeks new card I have only used twice ever.

      • +1

We shop at Coles every week and I still get this offer, or $x off all the time.

    • not sure your living status but what I've heard people do is just say you have a partner, you use your card for a while and get promos like this and then after the promo use their card and then pool points

        • How do you use a second card to pay for your first card? When you scan a card, isn't all linked to the card/account?
(I've been enjoying the $10/2000 points instant discount on each of my shops lately)

          • +3

@Spending2Much: Scan card with purchase for this offer
Pay with other card through card reader. It's a separate process.
Been doing it for years. Works💰

    • If you have other people in your house get them to sign up and connect them to your account. Coles starts to get stingy with the offers after a while especially if you convert your points to cash and use to discount shopping. Having others connected ensures at least one of the cards gets good offers and when it stops use another one.

      • You want to have separate accounts to get offers on each one.

      • You don't need another person in the household to create new accounts.
Create new accounts for each of your TV, computer, phone, desk, etc., as long as you give them a name. You need all the accounts independent to receive separate offers.

    • Why close the account, just keep it and get another one.

    $60 per week for me

    • same

    • Same. and I think, only the second time this year I have a decent offer

    • same

    • Same here

    • same

    • +1

$100 for me. They must have figured out how I'd been gaming their Masterchef points.

      • +1

What's your MasterChef points hack? How do you 'game' the points?
I just grabbed a free frypan yesterday.

      • +1

Second that..havent got a pan yet…doing something wrong it appears?

  • Got the same offer, funny though as the previous offer is to spend $60/week and get the 10,000 point, I was expecting the increase the minimu weekly amount and not dropping it.

  • +12

    $220/week

    Thanks prepaid Mastercards 🙃

    • +2

I got a slightly worse offer. $340 transaction for 3500 points, one off.

      • Yes, I got this. Purchased 35 Coles Mastercards in the last instore deal.

  • $100 for me

  • I haven't even received the reward from the last 4wks spending promotion…

    • +1

if you did an online shop and they didnt find enough substitutions then they dont count it as finishing the promo until you chase them up about it and complain. Thats what happened to me anyways and they gave me the points as soon as i complained about it.

      • Yeah just talked to an rep and received the missing reward at once. Obviously they are hoping that I have already forgotten about this matter.

    • Did you choose points or $50 off?

      • $50 off. I received the reward immediately after a call

      • If I choose $50 off. When do I get this $50 off and for how long it expires? I always choose points because I do not know how the $50 off work.

        • $50 discount is valid for 30 days from date of issue and can’t be used against your week 4 shop. $50 discount will be automatically redeemed the first time $50.05 is spent and your flybuys card is used. If discount is used at Coles Online, $50 discount will show up on tax invoice at the time of delivery. Offer is available once per flybuys account. $50 transaction and $50 discount excludes purchases of all gift cards, iTunes cards, tobacco and tobacco related products. $50 discount will be loaded to your flybuys card after your week 4 qualifying shop.

        • +2

          Getting points is more flexible.

      • Get the points and turn it into flybuys dollars, you earn flybuys on those I believe.

    • Same…!

      • Chase them up

  • +1

Did this 2 months ago only to miss on the very last week and missed out on the deal completely, one really need the discipline to stay on this without slipping up! Set your reminders and calendars

    • That's why I mainly use Woolies 1 week offers.
Received 2000 bonus points for $40 spend most weeks for months. Using a few Rewards cards.
Same pts/$ as this Deal, with lower spend I prefer, & safer to use if forget a spend 1 week😉

That also keeps incl Coles spend down, so I receive these $50 offers.

    • +1

Or even worse - scan the wrong flybuys card - and that wrong cards next targeted offers is for a higher minimum spend

  • +1

Got the offer on a new account

  • -1

    Targeted.
Coles Marketing team is not very smart. I bought $2k worth of Apple gift cards and they took that transaction into account so I have to hit $260/week instead of the usual $50-60/week average.
Basic Marketing 101 fail when they don't apply the appropriate suppression.

    • +7

well the algorithm now thinks you are rich af. You kind of asked for it as well. So have to deal with it now.

      • -1

I knew that will draw out the Coles marketing team. Know it makes sense why Coles can't write competent briefs to define the segment/parameter for their targeted offers … too much time on OzB

    • +2

i hope you at least managed to clear your tax debt with those gift cards and the ATO worker with the excessive amount of background noise during the call wont bother you anymore

      • +1

Nah, it was payment for Amazon missed shipment

    • What sort of offers are you getting on your other accounts that you don't use to purchase gift cards?

      • Same account was $50-60

  • +5

Not seeing this offer at all

  • Do gift cards count? Or Flybuy can figure it out?

I guess since they do bonus points on certain products, so they must know what people are buying, unlike credit cards.

    • +2

      The terms exclude it

  • got $50 offer. Previous one from last month was $60.

  • No offer here

    • i have nothing at all, just a few rediculous offers for a few points after spending half a paycheck on chocolate and drinks at the servo

  • Thanks. Got $50 offer on 3 Flybuy accounts. Took 3 weeks for them to reduce my spent from $100 to $50

    • Better than my experience, usually it takes months to go down to a $50 spend.

  • $70 per week for me

    • +1

      $120 for 4 weeks for 10k or $170 for 4 weeks for 20k.
Will be using my partners' card the coming weeks!

  • +2

I got a different one. I've never seen this before

Collect 10,000 bonus points when you spend $260 in multiple transactions over the next four weeks
That's equivalent to $65 a week! Activate, shop your way and score a big points bonus.

    • +3

$260 per week? Or $260 in total?

That's actually a better deal. Sime weeks with good specials you could spend slightly more… The week's with really poor specials just get the bare minimum.

That would suit me more if it was a total figure over 4 weeks

      • $260 in total. Bonus points are given once you meet the goal

    • +1

I got this one also, it's new to Coles. Woolies like to use the multiple transactions but Coles is always the one transaction.

I usually get $50 a week for 4 weeks and that's fine but i like the flexibility of this more and actually usually would spend around $60-$70 (but scan the rest after first $50 without flybuys of course).

    • Yeah I got this on just one of my many accounts. Arguably easier to achieve

    • Mine is $1000 in 4 weeks! Won’t have a problem doing that though with a large family 😀

  • i got:
Option 1: 10,000 points for $120 per week over 4 weeks
    OR
Option 2: 20,000 points for $170 per week over 4 weeks

    • On the same account?

I've never had an option. (Apart from choosing the points or choosing instant money off a shop choice)

    • I've got the same. Yes same account

    • +1

      Same for me.
Yes, I over indulged in the 10% off Coles Mastercards. I'm sorry Coles. 🥺

  • Sweet I got this one, thanks OP.

  • +1

Stack this with Westpac Debit Cashback Offer https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/785721

  • +2

Got the offer! Mine has reset all the way back to spending a mere $50.

I'm going to play it smart this time and just spend the amount required rather than putting ALL my shopping on my card. A tin of baby formula each week and puree is a $50 spend easily.

  • got 60

  • I got 20000 points or $100 off shop. Spending $170 per week for 4 weeks.

  • 70 for 50 for me

  • So is the $50 the better deal over the points? My flyby points automatically convert to Velocity points.

    • +1

I personally keep it as flybuys Point's as they are the most flexible of the 3 options. You can alwasy manually change the 10k pts to $50 off or convert to velocity anyway. Leaving them as flybuys gives you more choice imo

  • I've found that I get this offer fairly regular. In between I get the same offer but for $90 x 4 but I just decline. Week or so later were back at $50.

  • Mine is $70

    • +1

mine is also 70. paid too much to coles which makes them more greedy

      • Agreed, have tried to spend it evenly but apparently not well enough

  • $50 and $60 for me and missus. We usually spend &80-110 on hers every week. Lucky

  • +2

    4x $120 to get a paltry $50. That's just over 10% discount. No deal.

Ever since Coles required $100/$250 discounted Mastercard gift card purchases to be tied to a Flybuys card, my offers have been ruined. Just because I spent over $4500 buying gift cards, Coles now thinks I spend hundreds of dollar per week on groceries.

Might be time to get a second Flybuys card…

  • This is targeted, mine is $290. You got a great deal.
