    • you must be a regular big buyer of coles.
you showed your loyalty to them to get such a great deal from them

    • $290 is still only $72.50 per week. Really easy to spend that sort of money these days.

      • Except mine is $290 per week

        • Oh wow, that is a lot.

Sorry I read @samstaee post and thought yours was the same as his, just $290 as opposed to $260.

$1160 over 4 weeks just to get $50 off seems hardly worth your while - though I suppose every little bit helps.

          • @Morphio25: Yeah not the greatest deal, but we spend a bit more than that every week to feed the fam

            • @imsuperimposed: Good to know that things are only going to get worse for me as my daughter grows up. Our bill is about $180 a week at the moment and it doesn't feel like we even get that much for it!

  • +1

    $160 for me 20k points

  • Still no offer for me on a new account, opened 3 months and make a small purchases every week or so

Missed out on a few now

  • I got spend $60 nice I can do that

  • +1

Since buying $$ of the 10% off gift cards, that you HAVE to scan a FlyBuys cards my offers have gone the way of the DODO

Last offer was spend $370 in one transaction for 3500 points…..

  • +2

Mine is $140 a week for $50/10,000 points or $190 a week for $100/20,000 points.

Mine has been high thanks to all the $2300ish purchases of 10x $250 master cards.

  • Does anyone know if Coles Best Buys/Online Exclusives also qualify for the Weekly spend?

I've only ever done the in-store shops to meet the conditions.

    • They count but be careful to keep track, if items OOS and you fall below the required spend you will need to contact them and may need to provide invoices.

  • I accidentally clicked 10,000 pts instead of $50 off, can I revert?

    • Call Flybuys customer support team

    • +10

10000 points is the better way to go, and then convert that to flybuys dollars to use at your leisure.

If you choose $50 off im almost certain it has to be used on the next shop over $50, and automatically takes it. If your next shop happens to be another 4 week spend (sometimes they come 2 weeks apart) - then the $50 off shop won't count to any spend but if you converted 10000 points to $50 flybuys dollars then it still counts.

      • Oh damn, the fine print says it only lasts for 30 days too..
Wish I had picked points also.

      • Good call, thanks for the analysis (i can also convert to velocity points which is another plus)

  • +1

Don’t forget Macquarie customers can get Coles gift cards for 3% off to help make the targets with a bit less expenditure out of your own pocket. I’m store use only though it seems.

  • I've hammered the daylights out of my FB accnt and figured I'd get no good promos for some time, partner has also been using mine, not hers, I got the $50 ea week, her unused accnt got $110 ea week.

    Go figure.

    • That blows the 'dont spend' on the card algorithm assumption

  • $50/week plus I can bundle the spend $80 and get 2000 points!

  • yield is only 20% at best, $40 on 200
but will highly likely be less back cos you'll be spending more than $50 to reach that minimum

    are yáll okay??

coles doesnt warrant me shopping there for 4 consecutive weeks

    • +1

Many times am pleased to see exactly $50 spend. Rarely $51+.

      • all planned out :p

        cant say same for majority

        • +2

Only person in store using calculator on phone📱

          • @INFIDEL: hahahaha

this discussion ahs given me a different idea if i were to take on these type offers

          • +2

@INFIDEL: Incorrect. That's exactly what I do too.
I try to get as close to $50 spend as possible.

Sometimes I have to hunt for something well priced, to take me up to or just very slightly over the $50.
Other times I adjust my items in the cart in the app, if I pick up something in store (like deli clearance items)

            • +4

@Spending2Much: I think 2 people in a store using calculators at same time… is against the rules - a nerds convention😀

Fresh produce is more difficult to judge correct price. Although electronic scales are making it more accurate.

I take a small piece of fruit etc to checkout, just in case its just under $50. Staff are used to seeing a mandarin left behind where I've been.

Woolies 2000pt for 1c spend a week ago, tried buying 1 mandarin. But self serve scale rejected just 1. Found normal check out could handle a 30c purchase.
Ended up with 16,000 bonus pts ($80) on $82 spend in 1 shop🎉

    • Its $50 return for $200 spend

      Thats 25%

That gives you either an extra 25% discount on specials or 25% on staples that never discount

      • ure right cheers 1

      • $50 credit on $200 + $50 spend = 20%

        • +1

Already got $50 credits in my flybuys card so yeh nah

          • @J5: Also have $50 on other Flybuys card to use in this $50 deal.

            • +1

              @INFIDEL: Pointed out ?
              Yet you cant follow it

I have a rolling credit as i play this 4 week spend regularly

I use my $50 credit for the first week spend
I then spend $50 out of pocket each week for 3 weeks

The $50 credit comes back ready to use next time to do it all again

              Thanks for playing

Total outlay each time is $150

  • Combine with Westpac offer
For another 80$ cashback over 4 weeks.

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/785721

    Literally $130 worth cashback total.

  • +2

Got it. Also have a Spend $70 in one transaction for 2000pts, which overlaps with this one, so an easy double-dip. Gotta love the first week being 10 days.

  • They sent me email for same deal but have to spend $80 per week :(

  • Just when I thought I was out, they pulled me back in..

  • +2

I don’t even spend $50 a month at Coles, but recently bought $400 worth of gift card for a coworker and it has f**led up these deals forever for me lol.

Gone are the days of $30 each week for 4 weeks…

  • Glad to see this, I haven’t had one of these for a few months.

  • Is this showing up in the flybuys app or did you get an email?

    • +1

      Mine in app

  • I know you can’t purchase gift cards to hit the spend, but can I use gift cards I already have to pay for the $50+ of groceries? T&Cs state “ $50 or more must be spent in one transaction, after all savings, discounts and vouchers between Wed 05 Jul and Fri 07 Jul 2023”
Therefore I’m assuming vouchers = gift cards and therefore you need to pay with actual cash / credit card?

    • +4

Yes, you can use Coles gift cards or flybuys points to meet the min. spend.
I do split payment all the time.
So no it doesn't need to be credit card spend.

  • I haven't been targeted for these in a while

    • Targeted (which was added as tag too)

  • 100 per week for me :/

  • +1

Coles stopped giving me these 4 week deals about 3 months ago, was bummed . Woolies stepped up this week and offered me 5400 for $100 one off spend. Happy days

  • $80 for me

  • +1

$60 spend per week for 4 weeks for me, but not complaining.

  • My offer:
    Collect 3,500 bonus points
Spend $340 in one transaction in-store or online at Coles.
Offer valid in-store or online for orders placed and delivered or collected between Wed 05 Jul and Fri 07 Jul 2023.

You need some more accounts in the family
Every member in the family should have their own account and card
      Even the cat and dog

The more you spend the higher your spend requirement goes up

Stop using the cards and the spend drops down

  • Is there anything, anyone can suggest on getting? Opal top up?

  • I got 1,000 points for $50.. it used to be 2,000

    • Wait a few weeks

  • Is a Coles prepaid MasterCard considered a gift card?

    • @anthem29

Sadly it is classed as a gift card.

  • +1

About 11 months ago, same deal… only 27 likes… now almost 200 likes. This shows how much harder inflation has hit people.
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/719609

    • That is pretty crazy. I'm genuinely surprised how this surpassed 200 upvotes

      • .. and nobody negging it as a targeted PSA.. haters must have been converted.

  • $80 spend

  • Does Opal card recharge at Coles still work with this promotion? Only in NSW I think.

    • Y r U answering ur own q?

  • Got the $50 one nice.

Unrelated but I have a shitload of Flybuys, like 500k… do you think they're good to book holidays for hotels?

    • Avoid their packages and most of the hotels on flybuys travel are similar to the aggregator sites.

      • Yeah I figured they'd be similar. Flybuys are going unused anyway so I'll avoid the packages.

    • Not too bad an effort….

      Currently on just over 400k.
(Lately I've been enjoying the instant $10 off/2000 points on in-store shopping for those small everyday purchases)

  • I struggle to spend $50. Guess I'll just buy a large bag of rice, tins of tomatoes and tins of tuna for my doggos. Hard to carry $50 worth of that though!

    • I like to get stuff like long life milk to help reach $50. I figure there will be a time where I need milk and CBF getting more.

      • +1

Yeah but it's low value and heavy just like the other items I normally get. I've also already got about 30 litres of long life milk haha.

  • Different question: is there any way to find out the MasterChef cookware stock?
I am after the 20cm frying pan and could not find in 3 local Coles.

    Thanks

    • +1

Try different stores online, if it's in stock you'll have the option to order click and collect.

      • Thanks mate. I found one which had stock. It charged me the cost but the MasterChef page suggest they will redeem if sufficient credits and refund.

        Hope that happens.

        • I wouldn't bother actually placing an order, just use it to gauge which stores have stock for you to go to.

          • @wavesgreen: Thanks mate. I did consider that but didn't want to travel 35 mins one way to find that they actually don't have one.

  • My offer says excludes purchase of gift cards. Is this Coles branded gift cards only or are the TCN/Ultimate gift cards excluded as well?

  • I spent >$60 on Sunday 8th July. Only activated now. Does that purchase still count towards this week?

  • +1

$110 for me, that's why I've been taking Woolies up on their offers lately.
Not to mention, you can accumulate your total spend over multiple shops with Woolies. FAR BETTER IDEA!

  • Woolies is way better that ways, at least I used to get regular $10 off the shop regularly when I crossed the 2000 points on shop which happened faily quickly thanks to their frequent 5x, 10x and other offers like "get 80 points", "..120 points" if you buy this. I never bought crap but stuck to my usual shopping. Woolies keeps sending offers, unlike Coles. Sadly I had to move house and now I live near a Coles. The last house was closer to a Woolies.

  • Ironically….just today
Received another offer of 'spend $70 for 2000points' I'm currently on the spend $50x4 for 10k points, having done my first weeks shop already

  • +5

My spend $50 a week for four weeks disappeared. I spent $50 last week

    • +1

That's normal, it will reappear at some point this week.

      • +2

Would love to know why this happens almost every time with this style of promo. In the early days when Coles first brought it out, a qualifying purchase made while it had disappeared from the app actually wouldn't track. I had to contact CS to get them to make sure mine was applied.

    • Same mine disappeared too.

    • +2

I contacted Flybuys as mine disappeared too. They said that I completed week 1, it won't reappear on my account and I just have to qualify the next 3 weeks. I'm keeping the receipts just in case as that is my best indication of what is going on.

      • +1

It will reappear on your account.

Anyway, as you complete each week it will print out a success message on your receipt. Shouldn't be a problem. I've completed this promo so many times I've lost count.

        • I am too loyal to woolworths and since they are no longer giving me points offers, I'm giving coles a go.
Good to know you've had success with it, I don't find flybuys as smooth as everyday rewards but I'm just going with it for this promo and see what happens haha.

          • +2

@EBug: I have multiple accounts with both Coles/FB and WW/ER, I just go with whoever is offering the best deal in a given week.

I've noticed WW have been offering instant $10 redemption for any week you spend in a 3- or 4-week promotion which is pretty cool. You don't have to make a qualifying shop every single week of the promotion like Coles make you do.

      • Mine has disappeared too. I've contacted Fly Buys so hopefully it will be resolved. You used to get an email each Tuesday to update you on the progress of each weeks shop.

        • +1

I'm not getting any emails from Coles group at all which I am trying to fix also. I did go grocery shopping last night though and it says I completed week 2 on my receipt.

        • And the day after I write this, I get the Fly Buys email saying I have completed week 1. WooHoo.
