Thanks - but just tried it on something and says something to the effect of "redeemed but not available for this booking"

  • +6

Available for: Max discount $100 AUD. Valid for FujiQ, Tokyo Joypolis, Street Go Karting Akiba Karts, teamnLabs Osaka, Micro Pig Cafe, Sanrio Puroland. Only for AU & NZ residents. Cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer. Valid until 12PM 10/7/23 or until sold out.

    • Use it on the karts.. an awesome experience.

      • +1

        Didn't work on that either!

      • +1

Don't locals hate it though? I wouldn't want to annoy them, but it does seem cool!

  • Missing out by a week :(

  • Can anyone share their experiences with activities booked via Klook?

    • Can’t be too different to trip advisor booking.com etc

      • Never any issues with Klook Japan and Thailand when i used it

    • Havent had issues with them, used them for years.

    • Currently in Japan and booked 3 activities through Klook. No issues at all redeeming on the day.

      • So you can buy now and redeem anytime later In the future? Is there an expiry date?

        • +1

That's entirely dependant on the activity itself.
Most are booked for a specific date, but a fair few options have a validity period within which it can be used.

For example, Sapporo TV Tower has a 365-day validity period, whereas teamLab tickets are for specific times/dates and usually only a month or two in advance.

    • Used them to buy JR rail pass tickets without any issue.

Just before COVID I had ~$2000 of JR passes booked with Klook. I was unable to travel to Japan due to the COVID lockdown, so I asked Klook for a refund. They asked for the exchange certificates to be returned to their office in Japan, which is fair enough, but they also wanted a 10% fee on top for any changes or refunds - charging me ~$200 to get the refund.

Fortunately I had purchased the passes with a 10%-off code, so I came out roughly even. Because of the 10% fee, I won't ever buy from Klook again unless I get at least 10% discount during the purchase.

  • I wonder if this works for jr pass and usj for oct.

  • I've never used Klook before but it seems pretty scammy. I tried Micro Pig Cafe because it was on the list (and, indeed, the coupon seems to work). But when you compare it to the cafe's own website it's AU$30 for an hour, vs AU$47 on Klook. Why would I use Klook? Am I missing something?

    • +1

      thats 1 example

    • Some retailers might up their pricing when advertising on Klook to make up for the fee they charge

    • +6

Klook one includes refreshments, 1 mipig donut and 1 postcard apparently. The $30 from the website is only for usage & entrance fees. In my experience Klook usually has the best price. Used them quite a bit on our last trip to Japan.

You need to do your own research.
Some tickets are decently priced, someone are more expensive.
      Some are ridiculously good value.
Sometimes the convenience of being able to pre-buy everything through the one place trumps the slightly higher price it comes with.

  • I'm heading over there at the end of the year.
Does anybody know if I can purchase the JR pass through the usual channels (not Klook) before the price increase and still get the current low pricing?

    • +1

Yes, you have up to the standard number of days to use it.

    • +2

I think up to 90 days from your purchase date, but please check the t&c incase they have changed

    • +1

According to this the current price of the JR Pass voucher is valid until September 30 and can be exchanged for the actual pass on December 28 at the latest.

  • Just came back from Japan :(

    • Just arrived and just saw this after expired :(

I just booked some Fuji Q tickets for late november and they went through ok. Did I do something wrong?
Seems way more than 2 months

    • I chatted with Klook support - the date you enter for the open date bookings is "reference only" - it's based on the booking confirmation date, and not the date you select.

The date you select must only be for the Fuji Q Liner option which is a fixed date booking. Happy to be incorrect, as that's what has stopped me from purchasing a bunch of tickets.

If you could double check with Klook support, and report back on when the expiry date is, would be much appreciated.

      • You’re correct ,it was based on the ticket confirmation date. They would only refund me in klook credits :(

        • Damn that sucks… I'd push for a refund if possible, given it was so soon and you noticed the mistake - their form is definitely misleading, and no example makes it a bit confusing.

        • Unfortunate this happened for you but thanks for commenting about it. Saved us accidentally buying Joypolis and FujiQ tickets for november too.
Their booking system really should block those dates so they cant be selected yet…

  • +2

For the people that are wondering, myself included - registered an account just to see if the coupon is valid for JR Pass - it is not. JR Rail Pass is not eligible for this deal regardless what date you're traveling. :)

  • No visa is req for Japan from Aus? Just entry with passport yea?

    • +1

Nah, no visa req for Japan from Aus. Passport needs to be valid for the entire time you are there (which is 90 days max). If you're staying more than 90 days, then I think visa will be required.

  • They're charging ~$50 for return Narita bus, which is normally less than $15 each way if you just show up at the bus stop

What would you call one who receives bukkake? The bukkakee…?

I've used Klook on 2 trips.
    1. Japan in Dec22/Jan23 - Bought Tokyo Metro 72hr tickets, Day trip to Mt Fuji, these were okay. The tour was reasonable and I did not feel ripped off.
I did not buy our JR passes from them - we bought directly from JR and we were able to manage all our Shinkansen bookings online and get tickets issued at the ticket office, even make changes and reissue tickets on the fly when we were there.
    2. A recent trip to NZ/Queenstown - I bought a 4 day ski lift pass, equipment hire and transport package from them (supposedly at the "early bird" rate). When I got to Queenstown, I discovered I could walk in and buy each item from the individual vendors at a better price. It was not a good deal, and I would not buy such a package from Klook again. It was only good for locking in a price and peace of mind, but yeah, next time I'll just get the stuff I want directly.

I guess Klook might be good IF and only IF you get a bonus discount or cashback offer.
Otherwise google a bit harder or contact the individual vendors/alternative vendors directly and you should be able to get a better deal directly.
    YMMV

    • bought directly from JR and we were able to manage all our Shinkansen bookings online and get tickets issued at the ticket office,

When you say "directly from JR", do you mean online purchase receiving exchange vouchers, or purchase in-person at a JR office while in Japan?

If purchased in-person, were the prices the same, and was the purchase quick and easy? Only had to produce your passport to get the passes?

    • Edit: I found the info myself, looks like it is more expensive to purchase in Japan.

Example prices for adult 7-day ordinary pass:
Bought from JR while in Japan: 33610 JPY
Bought while outside Japan from an authorised seller: 29650 JPY

So about 37 AUD more expensive to buy while in Japan.

Pricing info came from here: https://japanrailpass.net/en/about_jrp.html

  • Be quick, it's available for 24 hours only.

When did the sale start? 24 hours from what time? Or does it expire at midnight tonight?

  • Just came back from Japan :(

  • Anyone have experience on where to get universal studios Japan the cheapest? Is it cheaper off Klook or directly through the website? Or when you’re physically in japan from a kiosk somewhere?

  • Who's in japon

    • are you one of jv's offspring?

  • Is there an exclusion list? Can't seem to apply to USJ

  • Just got on NEX and saw this deal.
