I live on acreage and absolutely abused my Stanley 34cc for 12 months, it just keeps on going. I use it more than my heavy beast Hurqsquana with 20" bar and it just keeps on going. Bought mine for 69, but seriously considering getting this based on my positive experience.

How do you get it for $69

      • +9

        Gotta ask nicely

      • +1

It was a 37cc one at $75 (pretty sure paid only 69), not 46cc version in this post. It sat in a garage for years before i actually bought an acreage.

Bought this deal. Cant have enough chainsaws.

        • Cant have enough chainsaws

Well said. More people need to learn this!

    • What's the pull starter like on these? My wife can't start our Bushranger 18" because the starter pull is too long and stiff for her, and the baby Makita we bought a few years back has packed up. Considering this one as a backup (my Bushranger is in for repairs and I need firewood) but my wife won't buy another chainsaw unless she can try the starter first.

Go battery for the wife simples

        • +1

Definately get battery powered for the Mrs. They are excellent for a few quick cuts. Just as fast as the Husvana 44cc we have on the farm.

The makita(2x 18v batteries) is a good saw, my brother in law has one.
I have a dewalt(54v), which is also good but has been leaking bar oil from day dot.

Keep the chains sharp and they can cut a whole tree into firewood just as fast as a petrol saw.

    • Hurqsquana, that's a new one to me lol.

Didn't even need a chainsaw (I have no trees). But half price is half price. Thanks op.

    • This is the way.

Thanks OP, going to use it for home defence

    • Yeah chop up the out of control teenagers when they come in and take your stuff and threaten you with a weapon, nothing else seems to be working.

on company time, I would hope.

Internet informed me today that chainsaws were originally invented to remove bone and cartlidge to make room during childbirth. Probably wasn't this model though

    • The old world sucks. Childbirth and dental treatment is a cake walk today compared to throughout all time up until like 60 years ago maybe.

  • +2

Includes 1 year warranty and an extra 2 years (Total 3) when registered online.

Who doesn't need a chain saw. 46cc should be good enough for most domestic and camping jobs.

  • OH HELL YEAH !!!
I live in inner inner Sydney :-)

  • I bought a Homelite from Bunnings with 16" bar and currently I saw it on special for $99. Bargain considering the chain costs $50.

It's the only Homelite one Bunnings have atm.

The bar looked really small but when I saw the other images it turned out it's just the angle the photo was taken.

Chainsaw just arrived. Ordered on Sunday.

Got it yesterday - box was banged up, had been opened and looked like it was removed and then put back in the box badly - bar had pierced one side of the box - asked the courier what happened and he said he picked it up like that and showed me photos - haven’t tested it yet, but not happy so far

  • Got mine yesterday as well it was defiantly not new. Box was banged up pretty bad. Opened it up smelled like petrol inside (not sure if that's normal). Was marked up lightly with scratches, requested an exchange.

  • Also received opened box item that is not brand new.

    • They've been started.

  • Anyone else still waiting on receiving theirs?

    • nm i got it

  • Just for anyone who has any dramas starting it, pry the fuel primer bulb off and connect the fuel hose which seems to come pre-disconnected.

    • Thanks… any trick to filling with chain oil? Doesn't explain it in the manual and the tank looks like it would spill if I tried to fill it?

      • Lay it on its side and fill, it’s only a couple hundred mill if that.

If you don’t have specific Bar and Chain Oil you can just put any 10-30 oil, it’s more important that it’s lubricated than what with.

        • I use canola oil and that's good as well.

    • glad i read this. haven't tried starting yet but good to know. thanks

    • Fmd, probably why i couldnt use it

  • Has anyone started using theirs yet and can provide a review for us ?
I ordered and received mine and have today assembled it, and now just need to get some chain and bar oil on the weekend for it.
Aside from the box arriving half falling apart, the final assembled unit seems pretty solid, so am just wondering if others have actually used theirs and can report back to the group ?
    Thanks.

Husband put his together this afternoon. Downside is the choke wouldn't stay open when starting so I held it open while his started it.
Once it got going made light work of a bunch of old redgum sleepers he was wanting to cut down to use as firewood. Works a treat! The choke problem can be fixed by holding it open with a peg or something.

I just used mine today, works pretty good for 100 odd dollars. Choke is fine for me. It came without any damage, leaking a bit of chain oil but prob a bit normal. first chainsaw ever.

    • I literally cant get this piece of shit to start.

      • Take it to a local service centre. Check the Stanley website. They will help you. I did with mine.

      • Yeah, not off to a good start (no pun intended) here, either.
