Following on from this post:

I decided to check if the kit I was waiting has dropped and IT HAS!

This is the 2-piece HP Brushless Compact Kit (Hammer Drill RPD18C + Impact Driver RID18C) + 2 Batteries. The tools alone cost $328 total.

RPD18C Hammer Drill $159

RID18C Impact Driver $169

2 Free 4aH batts and fast charger.

Unsure if this is a pricing error so get on it quick (it still shows 349 on search but not on the product page). Location VIC

(Edit: Fix links and updated itemised prices)

(Edit: seems to be out of stock everywhere now. You could still try instore maybe, but afaik online is all gone. How do I mark the deal out of stock? )

(Edit: in comments some people are apparently having this price honoured as special orders. worth a try if you're still keen)

Rorted again by bunnings. Ordered earlier today. Already cancelled the order due to no stock. Thats 3 orders in a row cancelled over the last 4 months.

    • You are in the wrong area, Im was surrounded by three Bunnings (within a 10min radius) are all of them had stock.

      • Tell me you live in the sticks without telling me you live in the sticks

  • Just picked up my order…Definitely has been opened and repackaged…But everything is there and nothing LOOKS damaged… Need to test them out.

Same here. I just picked up mine. The package doesn't have a seal, so I'm not sure if it has been opened or not. But the drill appears to be dirty. https://imgur.com/a/tjz0Aep

      • Oh dear, yes yours is definitely used. At least mine were clean! I tested everything last night, and it all worked fine. I haven't actually drilled anything yet, so will give that a go tonight. Make sure you give it a good go tonight, otherwise return it. Hopefully someone only returned it because they got the wrong tool or didnt need it anymore.

    • My drill and driver weren't in plastic. Just in the cardboard box. Other Ryobi tools have come with a plastic sleeve/bag.
Anyone else just in the box as is?

      • Same. Just nestled in the cardboard. No plastic wrapping.

Good to hear. Less rubbish and waste, thanks

  • Just checked. Says cancelled in the order status. No mail or sms (not in spam either)

  • I missed out but I'm just after the hammer drill. In Brisbane south of the river if anyone snagged one they don't want.

  • all metro Sydney areas no stock :-(

    • Road trip to Lismore?

      • For us city folks in Melbourne metro area, road trip to the country side (will need to fake a sickie).

        • +1

Tell your boss you are feeling stressed since you couldn't join the Ozb impulse-buying camp. Need a quick getaway to Lismore :)

  • Is this an entry level kit(beginner)? If it is, would you also need to buy a big tool box to store these in?

    • They are pretty compact

  • Looks like it's been Ozbargained in Melbourne. Out of stock everywhere in the south east.

    • Yep. Tried the Special Orders desk at my local as a last resort.
I was told it was not a SO item, and they don't do store-to-store stock transfers. :'-(

  • I was super tempted for this, 2 x batty and brushless. but I don't really need another drill.

  • Looks like it is OOS

  • No Stock….

if it's good enough for OceanGate, then it's good enough for us DIYers

I was able to get one even though my local stores are out of stock.

After calling around to a few stores I found out that if you call a store that has stock and then ask for Click and Delivery, they'll process a special order which can be delivered to your house for $15.

Alternatively, you can ask if they can deliver to your local store as well to pick up from there as it could potentially be quicker than waiting for delivery.

I asked tool shop to run the Item Number - they said 2 left in stock but then found none about. They apologised and told me to order at Special Orders. Thankyou Bunnings. I've ordered 3x.

  • Still some in Kalgoorlie…

Rang up my local store and spoke to Specials Orders Desk who had no problem in getting one in. Had to pay over the phone(which was good because it locked in the price). Should arrive at local store within 2 weeks. Good luck!

    • I had to come in store to pay at Special Orders Desk as they don't accept credit card payments over the phone.

  • anyone in norther sydney got this deal and don't need the impact drill, let me know please or even want to go half. message me, please

  • Called Artarmon and they put an order through for one and took payment. Fingers crossed it comes in a decent time frame

  • Will I miss out much by buying these two, instead of Ryobi 4 mode premium impact driver (RID18X) and the Ryobi premium Brushless hammer drill?

  • Just bought in store. Was two on shelf, correct stock count as per the link to the webpage showing what stores have how many.
Couldn't get for click and collect or delivery….

  • I tried Special Orders Desk in Sunshine VIC and they said they don't get items from other stores. I will need to go to other store to get it… Hmmm…

  • Can someone recommend a decent set of drill bits (primarily wood, plaster) and a decent set of impact bits to go with these? Thanks!

    • These are decent for light/medium use - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/786757

I bought this from the last deal and are doing okay. I damaged one by drilling in to hardwood, but everything else has kept up okay.

      • I have this set too and it’s not bad. Other than some of the bits have got surface rust even though they were stored inside the house. But for the price not complaining.

    • Drill Bit Hierarchy

Craftright -> Full Boar -> Irwin / Kango -> Diablo / Sutton Tools

  • there is no stock anywhere

  • So I rang the Special Order desk at my local store and they said it's not a SO item so they can't order it in for me. Am I saying the wrong things ?

  • just managed to SO one from Bundaberg to Brisbane for +$15 p&p, lets see what happens

    • arrived yesterday

  • +1

Port Stephens has 5 in stock at the moment, I managed to snag the last one on click and collect at Glendale, where the nice lady actually rang me back after not being able to find one when I first rang up. Lucky the in-laws are driving past next week to pick up for me!

She checked all the other stores in the area for me while I was on the phone.

My local stores in Melbourne weren't interested in making up a kit, and the in-store Ryobi rep was very non-committal as to when new stock was arriving…

  • I just managed to order 2 online via delivery. Fingers crossed it went through and not canceled.
    $10 delivery EST Friday 14 - Monday 17.

  • Back to $349 now. Magically, stock now available for online delivery.

    • Maybe they were doing stock clearance for a new shipment 🤷‍♂️

    • Seems it was dropped to match Amazon for prime day. Stock for me shows it’s available to add to cart for delivery but once in the cart says it’s OOS.

  • Bunnings just called me and said they are honoring all cancelled orders. So i asked her to explain what's happening and she said that all online orders, ones that are for pickup only are to be honored and they have been contacting all customers that have cancelled orders to see if they still want it, if so they will be placing a special order from Ryobi which will take 2-3 weeks. I just paid again and got a new order number.

    • My order is ready to be picked up apparently

    • I got a mail too today. I ordered for pickup. Should try calling them on Monday

    • picked up my order, that was quick.

  • Bunnings has also emailed me letting me know I am still eligible to purchase as they cancelled my order by mistake, does anyone want one? I managed to get one already in store.

    Located Melbourne.

    • I want one! Is this still available? I am located in western suburbs Melbourne.

      • If you received an email from Paul (Bunnings Online Customer Serivce Team) about your cancelled order, then you can ask them to place a special order honoring the deal price.

  • I can confirm. Was on hold for 1hr! Supposedly anyone that got an order cancelled will be able to get one. Its coming straight from the supplier too, so Im getting sent to my closest Bunnings now!

  • +2

Got the same email. When the order was cancelled, I thought I'd saved $200 odd, but wasnt meant to be

    • +1

same, and exactly how I feel D:

    • Had the same feeling! Now having conflicted feelings. I think I'd be fine either way. I only need an impact driver and saw a decent Makita one without the battery for around 160 in Amazon

  • Update…the store you selected to pick up from will call you that they have checked and no stock around. Just tell them, that customer service said that the stock will be coming from supplier so dont cancel the order and leave it, and to let the other staff know too, so the next staff don't cancel your order either. Im guessing head office will only let the stores know tomorrow

  • I rang Bunnings today and had my cancelled order from the Blacktown store recreated in another closer store for the original price. New stock coming direct from Ryobi.

  • Just checked that my order is ready for collection from Sydney metro store. Purchased 45 minutes after deal published. No email went out, checked my online order history.

  • Does anyone have an unwanted order in Sydney? Drove around to 3 stores on the night of the deal and it was all out of stock. :(

  • +1

I made 2 orders when this deal was posted. One for delivery which was later cancelled and a pick up order which was also cancelled.

To my surprise, I received a call from Bunnings yesterday saying if I was still interested they will honour the deal. I didn't want to give credit details over the phone so he gave me a special order number to be used at the Bunnings of my choosing. Paid and picked one up last night.

Great customer service from Bunnings. One very happy customer.
