  • I’m getting $1408 at checkout

    • +1

My bad, listed 16GB mem forgot it's actually 32 will update

    • +1

You can also remove the 3 yr onsite to save an extra $90.

In the service screen toggle the show best deals.

  • +11

Whats the point of a Yoga when there is no Touch Screen ?

    • +7

It's just a brand name now, you can't fold it over - I guess we all lose flexibility as we get old.

The 16" model is also on special again for around $2400 depending on options.

      • +1

Pretty sure the regular Yoga (aka 2-in-1) still folds and has touch screen, just not the Yoga Pro or Yoga Slim.

As you say though it is just a brand name, seems more confusing than is ideal given they're 3 distinct kinds of of devices.

        • +3

the reason it was ever called Yoga in the first place is that it was foldable.

this is like Microsoft coming out with a Surface laptop and not calling it Hinge.

        • +1

The screen can open up to 180 degrees, hence the Yoga name I guess, but agree it’s very confusing.

          • +1

@buddysayshi: True and fair point - they're all still somewhat more "flexible" than traditional lappies in that regard.

    • I had the yoga 2 for 7 years. Tried the touchscreen twice. Absolutely hated it due to the smudging.

  • Thats a solid price.

  • Could not see the weight info on the website.

    • +1

It's in Tech Specs of all model page

      Weight
      2.5K Mylar models: 1.49 kg
      3K Mylar models: 1.49 kg
      3K Glass models: 1.59 kg

  • This looks great!

  • Considering 3 yr warranty added on top this is fantastic price

    • Yep, might need that warranty, bought Lenovo laptop last year, kept crashing suddenly and randomly, raised ticket in April, problem not solved yet!

  • Is this good for full stack dev?

    • +1

you can go full stack with this - both javascript AND html!

    • Is dev ever any good on a laptop?

Without being overly critical, if you're doing front or back end dev, having enough of an idea of system resources to pick a laptop would probably help you with the code you write =/

Eg "is loading this 2gb zip file into memory a good idea?"

    • Quick answer? Yes. It has great single and good multicore performance, should be a snappy experience. 32gigs of ram good for multiple IDEs open at the same time, with chrome, and some VMs, and an android emulator. With a couple more chrome based apps, you should still be OK. If going with linux on it you can go with native containers rather than a WSL based setup, which is more efficient as well. At this screen resolution though, Jetbrains IDEs (if you use them) will struggle in text clarity if running at scaled resolutions in Linux, as they don't support wayland which is what most distros go with today. Long answer, depends on your use case.

    • Should be able to handle WSL 2, VS Code, a bunch of containers, browsers etc all at once.

  • +5

Should have been OLED then probably would have bought

  • +2

Bought the yoga 7i with 2.8k OLED amazon deal the other day, $849. Display is second to none, very happy.

    • Link?

      • Finished, was part of the prime day sale. OB link
        https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/786775

        • Decent deal for sure, but seems that one's IPS not OLED?

          • +1

@itscyanide: The amazon link now goes s a different model. Also the $899 one was IPS. The one I purchased is definitely 2.8k OLED 90Hz. Typing on it now…

          • +1

@itscyanide: It is 11th Gen .. very old

        • 11th Gen .. very old .. 14th Gen will be on the way soon.

          • +2

@matt-ozb: Good enough for what I use it for plus display is superb. Not gunna complain for what I paid for it…

            • +1

@vinnycol: @vinnycol fair enough then, thought it might have been the wrong link or something.

I agree that's an excellent deal even with the older gen chip. I've got (presumably) the same 2.8k OLED 90Hz screen on a different Yoga model and the picture is fantastic, awesome for day to day use and for watching stuff on the go.

Would be cool if it were a bit faster at 120Hz, but even at 90Hz still beats any non-OLED 60Hz lappy display hands down, as well as most of the lower-tier higher Hz offerings imo.

            • +1

@vinnycol: agree but the comparison is irrelevant .. without mentioning the CPU, MB, RAM, VIDEO reduction in performance

    • Can you post the link please?

    • 13th Gen? H series? I'm sure the answer is no.

      • Biggest issue with 12th and 13th gen is the high max TDP and which effects battery life. 14th gen is going to create confusion because of the rebranding and two different architectures.

    • +1

I've got one as well from the same deal. The 2.8k 90Hz OLED 100% DCI P3 screen is absolutely stunning.
As a light user, who mainly use this for web browsing, movies/vdo consuming this $849 laptop is a perfect fit for me.
The only complaint is that the battery life is not the best. Only last for average 5-6 hours once you bump up all the the display settings.

      • +1

👍👍 11th gen I5 and 16Gb Ram is more than enough for me too.
I don't understand why people need a super computer with 128Gb of ram for it to be useful notebook!! If you're a gaming enthusiast or a 3D Graphix designer generally you are gunna be using a desktop so you can fit your $2k video card in!!

  • Great deal BTW op!!

  • Deal is fine … MSI do a similar laptop at similar price with 13th Gen H series

  • -3

    The famous 220 nits

    • it says 350nits

  • +1

Great price. OLED and it would've been perfect.

    • Add $200-300

  • Thoughts on this deal for a touchscreen model (Ideapad)? https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/lenovo-ideapad-slim-5-pro…
I would like Ryzen 7, 16GB & 512GB SSD and this is the cheapest I can find this laptop. Has anyone seen a better deal?
Also thoughts on extra warranty? My Think pad is going strong 5+ years in, so 2+3=5, not sure if it's worth it.
    Thanks in advance.

    • I bought this back (SKU 532633) in March 2022 for $1234.05. Its been great. Haven't had any issues and ideal for WFH when HDMI to external monitor and then commuting. Battery could be better though

  • Not bad, but where is a version with new Ryzen chip (ie7840) and OLED screen?

    • Only options with 7840HS come with GPUs.

Best I can find is 7735HS same spec but only 16GB RAM for $1227, and I’m tempted. Much better iGPU and not that different in core numbers, but only zen 3+ and RDNA2, unlike the 7840.

      • Yes, unfortunately. 7840HS has a decent iGPU. For now, I think I'll just wait.

        • Think the difference between RDNA2 and 3 isn’t as big as you’d think.

  • Just curious if you got 10% yesterday, why you didn't post the deal yesterday?

    Good deal tho.

    • I’m interested to know as well.

    • It was 10.4% from Shopback.

I only just found out accidentally before it ended at midnight.

Just sneaked in and bought a Lenovo Legion Pro 7i. Not as good as the 13% cashback of https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/786258 but better than the usual 3.2%.

Went back to purchase something else (as they tell you to do transactions individually) after midnight and they'd dropped the cashback to 3.2% - doh lol

    • +1

Didn't have time, wasn't sure if was that good of a deal, you guys can be savage

  • Thanks! Just got it for myself.
Sign up to Lenovo rewards for an extra $2 off. Will be interesting to see if the $131 in Lenovo rewards AND Cashrewards 3.5% comes through.

    • +1

I bought a Lenovo laptop earlier in the year, got both Cashrewards and Lenovo rewards.

    • Hi Closey, Did you get $131 in Lenovo rewards, as I can not see in my rewards points? When I have an online chat with them they said there was no online promotion for the product you purchased. But I am sure that there was promotion around $130 when I purchased it. They said do have a screenshot of that promotion. Unfortunatly I don't have. Untrustworthy Lenovo.

  • +2

Upgrade to 32GB memory and 1TB SSD, $69 and $59 respectively.

Man, that's such a better price than the madness they wanted for the same to upgrade the legion 5 pro

  • I needed one with touch screen for my kid next year and didn't want to drop $2k on the JB Hifi suggested machines - so picked up the Yoga 6 (13", Gen 8) AMD Ryzen 5 7530U with 16GB DDR4, 512GB SSD, 1920x1200 IPS touch screen, 3Y sealed battery add-on, and 3Y onsite warranty for $1121.

    https://www.lenovo.com/au/en/p/laptops/yoga/yoga-2-in-1-series/yoga-6-gen-8-(13-inch-amd)/83b2cto1wwau1

It has a nice array of ports too

    2 x USB-C 3.2 Gen 1
    2 x USB 3.2 Gen 1
    1 x HDMI
    Headphone / mic
    microSD card reader

Cashrewards tracked at 39.23 - and supposedly $124 of Lenovo Rewards whatever that means

    • Lenovo Rewards - used for buying more stuff from Lenovo. Unless you plan on buying another laptop it’s going to be accessories.

My advise it to watch the price of accessories you want, then when it comes time to buy use the chat to get at the price you want. I got $235 Lenovo rewards, got the keyboard below for $160, and the travel charger for $99 (so paid additional $25 cash).

      https://www.lenovo.com/au/en/p/accessories-and-software/keyb…

      https://www.lenovo.com/au/en/p/accessories-and-software/char…

Still expensive compared to alternates for these items, but i needed them and was able to use points (and i really like the keyboard - same layout and feel as lenovo laptops).

      • I bought that keyboard for $129 on the education store .. didn't add any cashback deals etc .. keyboard is ok but weird with the CTRL and FN being opposite to most other keyboards .. bit hard to adapt when forced to use different keyboard at work.

        • I should have tried harder! The Fn & Ctrl is the biggest complaint about the keyboard - but it matches Lenovo laptops so if it’s all you use then it’s good.
I tried a logitech MX keys and hated switching between the logi and my laptop.

          • +1

@braddsey: I tried the MX Keys Mini … not sure why but when I see the Mx Keys at JB, I still feel a great sense of relief that I have sold mine … that backlight drove me crazy with inefficiency and the keys kinda felt amazing but were terrible for my typing.

Tip for those looking to buy - you can remove the extended warranty to subtract $90 from purchase price. While adding to cart, go to the extended warranty section, untick "show best deals", and the option to remove it should appear. IMO there's little reason to pay for it when ACL already should have you covered for issues within 3 years.

I picked up the AMD version with the same coupon. Added the 7735HS and 1tb SSD, came to $1257 minus $44 cashrewards tracked and $137 worth of Lenovo rewards.

Thanks OP, I'd been looking at these devices for a bit and this is a nice saving.

    • Any reason for going the 7735hs over the 13500h?

      • The 7735Hs is faster than the 13500h. The 13500h only has 4P cores vs the full 8 performance cores of the 7735hs.

        https://www.cpubenchmark.net/compare/5151vs5138/Intel-i5-135…

The 7735HS is more power efficient than the 13500H. The 13500h has a max TDP of 95W. The 7735hs has a TDP of up to 54w.

        https://ark.intel.com/content/www/us/en/ark/products/232147/…

        https://www.amd.com/en/products/apu/amd-ryzen-7-7735hs-0

The 7735HS has better on board graphics with the Radeon 680m with RDNA2 vs Irirs Xe on the Intel 13500h.

        https://www.notebookcheck.net/Integrated-graphics-showdown-A…

        • crap. i already ordered the 13500h

          • @essent1al: I wouldn't say it's make or break. The general performance is pretty comparable — if anything the 13500h has a slight edge in cinebench R23 per notebookcheck. If you're getting use out of the 32gb RAM that would be a good reason to choose the Intel SKU.

Efficiency on the Intel chip is a bit worse but battery life should still be good regardless. The iGPU is substantially better on the AMD chip, which is worth considering if you're planning on using it for casual gaming.

        • +2

Reviews show that 13500h beats it on a lot of tests, it also comes with 32gb ram vs 16gb ram. I think ill just keep my original order

          • @essent1al: I understand the RAM difference, but can you post a link to the reviews you are referring to. Also what laptops were being tested, and were they plugged in or on battery in a 14" chassis?

            • @shellshocked: Very valid point. AFAIK, for the Intel processor to use full power, the laptop needs to be plugged in which is a drawback in my opinion.

    • Did you get $137 worth of Lenovo rewards?

      • Not yet. It might not have been exactly $137 — I have a screenshot from the checkout page which includes +12914 Rewards points ($129.14?), redeemable 30 days after shipping. My account rewards page currently says I have only +2914 rewards pending. If I don't get the full amount after the 30 days I'll get on live chat.

I've had the laptop for a few days and am happy with it though, so not super fussed about the rewards. Not sure what I'd spend them on.

        • Great at least you have a screenshot. I forgot to take a screenshot at that moment. They said there was no offer on that day if you have a screenshot of the promotion send me. Do you mind sharing a screenshot so I can at least prove that there was an offer?

          • @greatbuy: I only have screenshots of my cart and the total rewards amount, not the offer itself, so not sure how useful it will be - but if you enable DMs I can send you a link

        • Im also chasing a screenshot if you could mate, lenovo arent honoring it so far

  • Thanks, picked up for $1386.99. Pretty good value for the specs!

  • Any amd

  • +3

Cashrewards 10% today and works with FLASH code

    • Damn, now I'm wishing I waited a day >.<

  • What are the odds of getting an order cancelled? My order is still "waiting to be shipped" :\
Have emailed support but no response yet.

    • Are you buying another laptop?

      • Yeah I want to change to AMD CPU and also my cashrewards didnt track originally :(

If I buy the 2nd one now and they dont cancel the first, i'll be stuck with 2 laptops..

        • +1

If it’s not shipped, I believe you can cancel it.

  • Another bargain with 10% cashrewards for those wanting touch with 16" is 82YNCTO1WW for $1470 ($133 cashback and $134 in lenovo rewards)..

    Yoga 7i (16", Gen 8) - Intel® Core™
    Part Number: 82YNCTO1WW
    Processor: 13th Generation Intel® Core™ i5-1340P Processor (E-cores up to 3.40 GHz P-cores up to 4.60 GHz)-
Operating System: Windows 11 Home 64
Microsoft Productivity Software: Microsoft Office Trial
Memory: 16 GB LPDDR5-5200MHz (Soldered)- selected upgrade
Solid State Drive: 512 GB SSD M.2 2242 PCIe Gen4 TLC- selected upgrade
    Display: 16" WQXGA (2560 x 1600), IPS, Glare, Touch, 100%sRGB, 400 nits, 60Hz, Narrow Bezel
    Wireless: Wi-Fi 6E 2x2 AX & Bluetooth® 5.1 or above
with Thunderbolt 4 and HDMI ports

    • Good price but it is only 60Hz as mentioned by you compared to 90Hz on the OP's post.

      • This one is touch screen though

        • That’s an advantage for sure. 90Hz or 120Hz is much smoother on the eyes while scrolling though.

        • My current Lenovo is touch screen and i rarely use it tbh

  • +1

Can confirm was able to cancel the original Intel build with 3.5% cashback, and reordered with the AMD CPU (Changed Tidal Teal to Storm Grey colour for $30 saving) and 10% cashback.

    SubTotal $1227
    CashRewards Cashback -$122.70
    Lenovo Rewards -$128

    Total $976.30

    • +1

Good on you. Btw, you can't use that $128 Lenovo Rewards to reduce the price from the original order. Correct? We can only use it for future purchases?

      • yeah i just treated it as cash in my calc

  • Ordered a week ago and still "Waiting to be shipped"

    Is this normal?

    • Mine shipped on Saturday, check your order page it will give you an ETA on ship date

      • +1

Mine was ship too but the tracking doesn't seem to work. Is your tracking link working? DHL just kept saying not record found on their site
