  • Currently got this.
Anyone had luck with reapplying to get the intro bonus?

    • +1

Terms now shows 'Fees and charges apply. Credit criteria apply. New Citi Prestige credit card customers only and cannot be used in conjunction with any other offers.'

      • thanks!
hmm do I risk taking convenient interpretation of "new customer"..

        • Did you manage to get the bonus again?

  • Whats the difference between the Cash advance rate 22.24% p.a. and this payall 2% after October??

If I send money to my ANZ savings account its not a cash advance? So a cash advance is just pulling money out of the atm?

Why would anyone pull out money from the card directly if you can just pay the 2% by sending it to another account?

    What am i missing

The Citi PayAll Fee is similar to the Cash Advance Fee - you pay this instantly.
With payall you "can't" send to yourself (technically).

The cash advance rate is the interest rate you will have to pay on cash advances.

      • So does that mean you pay the 20%+ interest rate on it immediately as well?

        • Payall is not considered a cash advance.

  • How much income does it require?

    • Unofficially $150k

  • Got rent to pay? payall that thank you very much.
Got taxes to pay ? payall the ATO as one idea.
Got stamp duty to pay, what about Payall ? Don't mind if I do.
Got solicitors fees to pay and they don't take credit card, well what about payall? Yes indeed that works nicely.

Payall is the gift that keeps on giving. Only limited by your imagination.

And remember it is per calendar month not your statement period. But ensure you have sufficient credit limit.

    • +2

      Only limited by your imagination.

It is limited to certain restrictions (not just your imagination):

Number of total transactions A cardholder can make up to 10 Citi PayAll transactions each calendar month across all Citi branded credit cards.
Number of recipient transactions A cardholder can make up to 5 Citi PayAll transactions to a particular recipient each calendar month across all Citi branded credit cards.
Transaction value of transactions A cardholder can make up to $20,000 (subject to available credit) in Citi PayAll transactions each calendar month across all Citi branded Credit Cards.

      https://www1.citibank.com.au/payall-limits

  • Be careful before applying if any income requirement. From memory they removed $150k income requirement in Dec22 but won't approve if you are not in Jan 23.
Later on some bargainers mentioned if income is not $150k won't be able to apply.

    • Damn. I'm about 10% short.

    • +4

Applied for my wife $70k income and approved within 1 day. Completely schocked.

      • Good to know!

        • +1

Approved! I closed 2 other accounts a couple of days before applying, and another 3 weeks earlier. Confirmation of their closure hadn't hit my credit report yet. I also reported a $1 mortgage and $1 repayments because it's paid off, but I have it open still so I can access redraw if needed. They didn't ask for proof or explanations of anything; I applied Friday online and was approved today with no contact.

  • Is there any other bank that has something similar to payall?

  • If I just had the Citi premier card, would I be ineligible for this card? Also had a Citi rewards but some years ago.

From what I can see in T&Cs it’s only for new prestige Customers and I’m yet to have any of those cards so therefore I’m eligible?

“New Citi Prestige credit card customers only and cannot be used in conjunction with any other offers.”

    • +1

Citi is ok to have same brand credit card and still eligible for the new card bonus offer (as long as its not the same card)
Last year when I applied prestige I still got the 300k rewards bonus while I have been Citi Premier holder for years (from the original free-for-life Citi Signature)

  • +4

If you are just after the rewards points and / or Citi Payall
The Premier card is a much better offer: https://www1.citibank.com.au/credit-cards/citi-premier
$150 annual fee (first year) with 200,000 bonus rewards points [spend $7000 in 90 days]
Also comes with Citi Payall and can use to achieve the $7000 spending

With $550 saving in annual fee (first year)
The only benefits you missed compare to Prestige are:
    - 4th night free hotel
    - Unlimited priority pass
    - 75000 bonus rewards difference

    • Different points conversion rate too I think?

      • +1

Conversion rate is the same but prestige has more options such as Cathay (Asia miles), Qatar and Etihad

        Premier
        Flybuys 1:1
        SG KrisFlyer 2.5:1
        Velocity 2:1

        Prestige
        Cathay 2.5:1
        Etihad 3:1
        Qatar 3:1
        Flybuys 1:1
        SG KrisFlyer 2.5:1
        Velocity 2:1

        For earning rate
        Prestige
        International spend $1 = 3
Domestic Spend (major: airlines, hotel chains and restaurants in Australia) $1 = 3
Domestic Spend (major: supermarkets, petrol outlets and national retailers) $1 = 2
        Domestic Spend (including PayAll) $1 = 1

        Premier
        International Spend $1 = 2
        Online Spend $1 = 2
        Other Spend (including PayAll) $1 = 1

    • That link says 150k points, and the remaining 50k within 12 weeks of your account being open 12 months.

      • Thanks for pointing it out
For basically 150k new card bonus
I think still better value than prestige given the first year annual fee is just $150

    • Any restrictions on having previously held this card?

      • I talked to a rep about holding a prestige card previously. He said if you ever held a prestige card then you are not a new customer and will not be eligible for the offer.

If you talk to another rep and they say something different please post.

        • Hmm, I did have one at one point. But I can't see anything in the T&C for the offer, which is why I asked.

[EDIT] - turns out my card was a Citi Rewards card not a Premier, so hopefully it will be okay.

    • Would this be a good card if all you're going to be spending on taxes, bills, rates related to an investment property?
Or are there other cards better suited for this?

Just looking for a card with a decent earn rate for bills and taxes and reasonable annual fee.

    • Anyone know if I can apply for the Premier card in October if I cancel my Prestige card in September?

  • Can I pay my mortgage via Payall?

    • If you have an offset, yes.

You still need to pay it back as per your monthly statement.

  • wish it was $350 annual fee

  • PayAll is great but what is probably easier is to close the card and re-open to get bonus points the next year.

    • Then you lose out on scheduling payall with 0% fee for the next 10 years.

      • FAQs state up to 24months only. Had you managed to set these up for longer?

        Can I schedule a payment?

Yes. When setting up your payment simply select the specific date of transfer as long as it is at least 7 business days away. For rent, education expenses and property management fees and miscellaneous, you also have the option to make this a weekly, fortnightly or monthly regular payments for the next 24 months.

        • +1

Read the payall thread. You can schedule for 24 months at a time from any date in the future. So you can set it up 5 times consecutively to give you 10 years of payall

          • @BrunoBear: Thanks, trying to catch up to see what ive been missing… apparently alot

          • @BrunoBear: Where do I find the PayAll thread, I want to know how the 10 years work! Thanks

          • @BrunoBear: tried to set up another Payall for future but as soon as I click on new payment, it says 'Unable to use Payall. Payment amount you input has exceeded maximum permissible limit.'

Was this what you encountered when you did this?

            • +1

@everydayimbargaining: No, never encountered that. There is a limit of 20k per calendar month btw. And citi have also stopped people from scheduling more than 2 years into the future now.

  • Just checked Citi Rewards, to claim $100 Amazon, Bunnings, Apple or Wish gc requires 20,900 points, thus 275000 points will only converts to $1300 worth, thus $600 profit only.

    • Better value converting to flybuys at 1:1

If you utilise payall, you can get 20k points per month too. It will also count towards the minimum spend.

      • With flybuys, to convert to gc such as bunnings, kmart, target gc requires 20,000 points. I guess save 900 points per $100. But limited gc though, no amazon or apple gc. Agrees with payall points

        • You can also use it for Coles… One of the largest supermarket chain in Australia

  • This is a bit insane. Got approved within 15mins and the card has already appeared in my app.

  • Does the Visa application fee is counted as a eligible purchase?

  • I'd like to get this card for a "free" priority pass for a year. Does anyone know if
    1) A companion card is allowed
    2) If that companion is also allowed to get a priority pass?

    • There is a Diner's companion card but I assume you are referring to a supplementary card - I'm pretty sure this is available.

The Unlimited Priority Pass membership includes one guest per visit so getting a supplementary card is not needed for that.

      • Thank you, yes, I must have meant supplementary card. My wife and I frequently travel independently + we have two kids, so I was hoping that a supplementary card would allow completely separate priority pass membership….

        • Ah, I suspect not - probably worth checking directly with Citi.

          • @gadgetguy: Thanks, was hoping to avoid that…. but rang them. Suspicion confirmed for anyone else wondering, 1 Priority Pass per card membership only

  • A question for all the payall experts. I've been doing a single payall successfully once a month for 6 months. Today I thought I'd set up the regular monthly payment for 2 years (before Oct 2% fee). I set it up accidently for 2 months instead of 2 years. So I cancelled the payment (due Aug 4th). When I tried to set it up again for the 2 years, it failed saying 'exceeded monthly category'.
I haven't used the max of $20k for the month, as it was cancelled, not used or failed.
Is there a way I can fix this for it to start the regular monthly in Aug ?

    • Wait for a couple of days before setting up a schedule again.

  • Ah ok. Thank you very much

  • Can I still get the points if I had a citi signature card in the past 12 months?

  • Ts and Cs say that some of the benefits e.g. priority pass and transfer are only until 31 December 2023. so possibly there will be the chance that these benefits will not be available next year?

  • Recently opened a Premier card with Citi Reward points, can it be combined with the points from the Prestige card?

    Any experiences?

    • You have both Premier and Prestige cards?

      • Yep? A few people in the previous iteration of the same deal had both as well.

        • +1

Yep? A few people in the previous iteration of the same deal had both as well.

Funny you say that, because they also answered the question you posted

can it be combined with the points from the Prestige card?

Reward points will be separated as they have different conversion options.

          • @CodeXD: Yep I saw that but I was also curious given that they're exactly the same currency, whether the points would be considered the same and accessible across different conversion options

Something similar occurs in Amex where certain partners are only available under the Platinum Charge but points earned under the Platinum Edge (for example) would still be allowed to be transferred to those partners that only exist under the Platinum Charge. Assuming you have both cards.

It makes sense for those who want to optimise spend between cards. E.g. Supermarkets and Petrol on Platinum Edge for 3p/$ vs standard 2.25 on Platinum Charge

            • +1

@richh1833: I went back and found the post that mentions reward account is separated for each card.

FYI for anyone else who comes here and asks the same thing haha

              • @CodeXD: Yep I can see the same thing on my Citi app as well. Not sure if the poster got confirmation from Citi.

I'll give them a buzz to see whether it's possible to combine balances or something.

              • +2

@CodeXD: FWIW, I had a chat with Citi via Live Chat and they said you can transfer points between the two cards. But you need to call them.

I'll give that a go tonight and report back.

                • @richh1833: Just an update:

Citi said it's possible but the easiest way was to cancel one card. I'm okay with that. I'll do that when I receive the prestige.

I'm not sure if it's possible to transfer from Premier to Prestige without cancelling.

  • Just applied and got approved for this card - anyone know if the companion Diners Club is still a thing with this card? Their website says that I can request one as part of the application process but I never saw this option as part of my application…

    • It was part of the sign-up process for me, although I did not tick the box. I think you can still order one via the online portal afterwards.

      • that's interesting which card did you apply for? Are you an existing Citibank customer? I just remember going through the ID page and the Income page and then being asked to submit the application and I never saw a Diners Club tick box.

        • Citi Prestige, yes I am but it was roughly a year ago.

          • @h4lcyon: Oh ok was the tick box before or after you hit submit? Was your approval instant? I was only conditionally approved online and had to submit extra docs before my formal approval so if the tick box appears only after the instant approval that might explain why…..

            • @MrGarciaA: I think it was around the same time in the process as you nominate any secondary card holders, I was also conditionally approved as almost always have to supply supporting docs.

              • +1

@h4lcyon: I must just have been super blind lol. Called Citi and they said an entirely different area handles such a request and that they'll call me back during business hours so guess I'll have to wait and see how quickly the infmaous citi customer service can resolve this for me

                • @MrGarciaA: I'm sure they'll be happy to give you another card to spend on :)

                  • +1

@h4lcyon: Ofc esp since Im spending at least $20k per month to pay bills ;) though im not sure it'll be worth the hassle given what I was told by citi last night - see my later post further below

  • If I apply for Citi Prestige Qantas card, can I use PayAll feature to mortgage offset account, bills, rent, to meet the spending requirements for the 100k qantas points and then terminate the card once the points have been provided to my account? Otherwise is it worthwhile keeping the card open to setup years of PayAll for points churning?
Recently completed another bank's qantas rewards points and received 90k points but need to keep that one open for a year. Will this affect eligibility?

    • Yes to the first question, maybe to the second (if PayAll is still 0% fee after October), depends on what NAB think of your credit history/rating for the third question.

  • If PayAll is still free after October you can put that 20k to work in a bank account for 20 days = $54.79 of interest before tax each month to offset the cost of the annual fee.

    • Why just 20 days? I've been doing mine for roughly 25 days a month.

The interest amount will depend on interest rate so will be different for everyone.

20k points a month over 12 months = 240k. Convert that to flybuys and it is already $1,200.

      • Yeah it just depends on timing, 20 days is just an example.

    • this is what confused me, so the Payall, gets interest free period as well then

      • Yep and 0% fee until October. After that it's likely to be 2% per transaction which effectively kills it for the purpose of points.

  • +1

Just got told by a Citi rep that NAB is shutting down the Linked Diners Club Card as of 15 October 2023 - they will cease offering them from 15 Oct 2023 onwards and all existing Linked Diners Club Cards will close on 15 Oct 2023. Was told that the official FAQs on their website and all affected customers will be notified from the legally required 60 days out from the 15 Oct so looks like the announcement will be made in a few weeks time (mid-August 2023) if what they told me is indeed true. If it is indeed true it will be a shame - it's my one gripe with the Prestige card that they charge a very high 3.4% forex fee for a card that's targeted for frequent jetsetters. For a $700 annual fee, I'd say at least lower it to around 1-2% max.

    • For overseas travel I use 28 degrees, or a BankWest Platinum MC which have no fees and use the market rate.

This card is good if you use the lounges, the travel insurance is adequate so that you don't need to buy additional cover, but it's definitely not the best for using overseas purchases.

Been caught out a few times buying things online where the merchant processes in NZ or another country and get slugged a fee.

      • +2

I too use the BW Zero Plat for OS trips but it's the annoying "merchant located overseas" part that really bugs me especially since nowadays as more and more merchants create an online prescence and charge in AUD, I still get slugged the forex fee and it's not till I get slugged that I figure out that the merchant processes their payments OS despite having an Australian and AUD presence. Like Spotify for example - used to be AUD$10.99 every month on my statement then suddenlt became AUD$11.36 randomly just because Spotify decided to shift its payments to the UK instead. That's essentially what I was hoping to use the Diners Club Card for - to avoid those sorts of transaction that are processed offshore that I dont know are processed offshore till after they charge my card

        • I'm in the same dilemma, going to Japan in December and was thinking of applying for a fee-free credit card like Diners linked to my prestige card, what did you end up using if not Diners?

          • +1

@xdigger: I just managed to call Citi and thankfully the agent who answered could actually help me (had to call them 4 times till I got someone who could) and they just got my card for me - said it would arrive at my address in 7-10 business days.

Having said that though, if you're physically going overseas for holiday/travel, I'd still recommend one of the more well-known cards like BW Zero Plat or Latitude 28 Degrees because from what I've read on forums, seems like Diner's exchange rates a 0.5-1.5 percentage points more expensive than Visa/MC. Plus they're both fee free so just chuck them in your drawer and take them out whenever you're headed OS.

Personally, I prefer the BW one since it also comes with travel insurance, plus no data hacks (yet!) and from what I hear customer service at BW is better than Latitude's.

            • @MrGarciaA: Cheers, thanks for the advice! Might try for a Diners first since there's no further credit checks.

              • +1

@xdigger: Another point - I think Japan is one of the few countries where Diners Club acceptance is quite high so potentially the Diners card would serve you well there esp with the 2 points per dollar earn rate. Outside of the US and Japan though I suspect a Visa/MC would be a better bang for your buck even without any points

    • +1

What does the linked diners card cost? Benefits?

      • It doesn't cost anything if you have an eligible card. Main benefits are extra earn rate for points (2 points per dollar for all transactions) and no forex fee charged. As already pointed out, when converting from a foreign currency into AUD, Diner's rates are typically more expensive than the Visa/MC rates, but as I pointed out in my previous comment, the no forex fee is still very useful for a lot of online shopping/services when merchants charge in AUD but process their payments overseas.

  • so if I setup PayAll before October free transactions expiry these transfers remain as free?

  • Anyone who has transferred Citi Rewards Points to Kris Flyer miles, please let me know how long it generally takes for the points to be transferred into the Kris Flyer account?

  • Anyone used this card to book flights via a travel agent like Flight Centre? According to the website T&Cs it says "The Citi Prestige Card earns 3 Points per $1 on eligible International Spend and for selected purchases made and booked directly from a range of major restaurants and restaurant chains, major hotel chains, major travel agencies, major travel aggregators and flights directly booked with major airlines.

But in the PDF T&Cs it says "Please note purchases not ordered or booked directly from the restaurant, hotel or airline (e.g. through a delivery company, travel agent, or aggregation site) are not included in the higher earn rate."

Can someone please confirm whether buying flights from a travel agent like Flight Centre will or will not earn the 3 points per dollar?

  • Just got this card… just being lazy, and hoping people can answer these qs for me instead of me having to trawl through T&Cs

    1) can you set up an automatic payment so it sweeps your account at another financial organisation for the full closing balance on the card
    2) do you earn points on all other transactions (e.g. council rates, water bill etc that some cards don't pay points on? ) (not PayAll)
    3) When setting up Payall transactions, how do you transfer funds back to the card…. I can't really seem to find the details for how I need to pay back the card.
    4) Do they eventually send you physical plastic for the Priority Pass, or is it just the app

    • +4
      1. No
      2. No. Use another app like zip pay
      3. Bpay back to the card - Biller Code 49502 Ref <card number>
      4. No, only app
      • +1

@CodeXD - for #2, do you mean one can pay council rates, water bills, etc. using zip pay/after pay then pay these apps from credit card which will then earn points/ count towards min spend?

        • +2

Yes. That is exactly what i do.

          • @CodeXD: Do we get points for PayAll transactions?
