    "……but delivery is now cheaper."

Just as well, it couldn't be slower :)

Thanks op, purchased more batteries and still waiting for my previous purchased of 4xAAA pack from 16/8/12.

    • same :(
although I did get an email saying my item has been dispatched on the 22/08/12
      hopefully will come soon

      • wow at least you got dispatch info, still nothing here :/

      • I got nothing from previous deal. Not even an email.

      • update: mine just arrived today :D yay

    • 16 Aug: Ordered
      20 Aug: Shipped
      1 Sept: Hasn't arrived

      • +1

If anything is being shipped from HK or China then 3 weeks is the usual shipping time. You might be waiting another week for delivery.

      • 7 Sept: Arrived. Yay.

  • What charger should I get for these? I am so confused!!

    • +1

If you want the best (but a bit expensive): Maha Powerex C9000

      • as a new owner of an MH-C9000, I totally agree

        • +3

I've got a La Crosse BC-700 and it works like a charm. About 2 hours to charge my Eneloop LSD 2500mah AA's using the fastest setting. I've also been able to get some old Energizer and Varta rechargeables back to something close to their full capacity using the refresh setting. You can get it for around $40 from Amazon.

        • +1

I'm not sh*tcanning the LaCrosse at all. I understand that they are great chargers. I do believe that the MaHa is at least as good and perhaps a little better, together with a charging capacity similar to the LaCrosse BC-1000. For me, it was worth the extra $9 or $10 dollars over the BC-700.

Do be careful fast charging when not really necessary. I think the batteries are happier and cooler being charged at lower rates.

        • I was going to get the C9000 but the idea of pressing lots of buttons to change the settings turned me off it. I ended up getting the BC-1000. I hope I made the right choice :$

        • it can't be a wrong choice :)

        • Yo, jdr.

Mind me asking where you bought your MH-C9000 from?
I noticed in your comments on the BC-700 deal that it wasn't from Amazon…

I bought the BC-700, and it works fine, but might get the Maha one as well cos i can.

        • Easy.

Look at my first post in http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/78643

That heads you in the right direction. I got the batteries and charger there.

        • Oh, i get it.
          Thanks.

        • That's it. It's gone up by one Euro since I bought but it is still by far the best deal I found. The final price should be with VAT removed and then converted to AUD. If you need batteries or other bits, any of those will have VAT removed too but won't add to the shipping (which is already cheap). If you view the other items, they will be in a list as AUD but when you click an individual item it will be the Euro price that you can use to make a calculation of the currency converted ex VAT price.

          Good luck.

        • That is true :)

Also, the Maha C-9000 doesn't fully charge Eneloops so I guess that is another positive for me too.

        • It does fully charge them, you just leave them in the charger for two hours minimum after the "Done" indicator appears for that battery. Not perfect, but not a problem either.

        • Sheisse, yes, the VAT. Keep forgetting…

Does eBay show the price before or after VAT is removed? I'm not sure as when i click 'Buy it Now' it shows the price at EUR 42.99 + EUR 7.95, and i'm logged in.

If it has still to be removed, then the price would be EUR (42.99/1.2 + 7.95) ~ EUR 43.80 ~ AUD 53.40 delivered.

        • The eBay price is inc VAT (or actually MWST in Germany). So remove the 19% tax, add the freight and convert the currency. I'm not exactly sure what you did with your calculation but it is within 50c of what I worked out.

Remember that if you want batteries (inc boxes) at the same time, they are cheaper than getting them here or Amazon, you get the VAT off and the freight doesn't increase. If you do buy, you could send them a message and just confirm that the VAT will be removed because it is shipping outside the EU. That means that you should not pay until they tell you the correct amount. In my case, I bought a few items and they asked me to buy them all as normal through eBay, then they sent me an itemised invoice to pay at some website (something like afterbuy.de, I don't remember). I paid that, got a shipping confirmation about a day later and the package arrived in less than a week.

If you have more questions, feel free to PM.

  • are these the same as the ones that go on sale from dicksmith?
I would also appreciate advise on a charger,
I will only get 8 AA batt so I don't need a expensive charger.

  • Can I use these for my cordless phone? And have the phone sitting on the charger daily?

    • wouldnt you need nicads for that?

      • currently running nimh in those, so i kinda figured since eneloops are nimh are they compatible.

i still haven't received my order from the last deal… Shopping Square…never ever
    but +1 for OP

  • the glitter 8 packs were going for $19.95 with free delivery from DSE.

    • +2

They were, twice, but that was a long time ago. They have been $19.95 + delivery at DSE the last 60 million times.

      • i see, dse priced back to 39.95 for the 8 pack. was not too long ago from memory

    • +1

the glitter 8 packs were going for $19.95 with free delivery from DSE.

The things is, unless you don't work, or have access to OzB at work, these things get Ozbargained really quickly. I've missed out on so many DSE Eneloop deals because of this.

  • anyone know any working coupon codes?? :)

  • +3

    must… resist…already…have…too…many

  • The other deal is better unless you only need 4. I ALWAYS need more!

    • +1

If this is the "other deal" you are talking about, it is only cheaper for 16 or more (at about $42 for 16), or if there is something else you want from Amazon and combine the shipping (Maybe the LaCrosse BC-700 charger for $40, mentioned above by Rich2010):
      http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/78643

Also, that deal (I posted it) is for plain white AAA Eneloops only, this deal is AA and AAA, and this deal is glitter Eneloops. Many people prefer the glitter Eneloops, and are willing to pay a premium.

  • Hmmm HobbyKing Turnigy or Eneloop…

  • Would avoid shopping square at all costs! I got these from an eBay seller for $14.50 delivered and it arrived within a week ! All I hear lately on here and friends I know how they are waiting weeks and almost months on there items!!

  • bought two sets of the AAA's a few weeks back and they only JUST arrived … I won't be purchasing from shopping square ever again.

In another post a couple days ago, someone pointed to a German eBay user who was selling either these or the white ones but also include battery cases for even cheaper (I think 16 would have come to about $36)

  • thanks OP. not stressed about delivery timetable. needed in time for xmas.

    • still havent got mine - too long now ?

  • thanks OP, just in time for purchase.

  • Purchased from the last lot 17 August, got email confirming dispatch on 20 August and item arrived (from HK) on 27 August. All blue and green if anyone cares about such things. Now …do I need more??

  • Still waiting for mine from August - no e-mails re dispatch.

  • +1

Just bought a pack of each. Then looked in the draw and realised I don't need them :(

  • Is this charger any good compared to standard sanyo charger??

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/SANYO-Quick-Recharger-Kit-NC-MQR0…

If I buy this charger with the 4 batteries and another 4 on this deal it costs $46.40.
I don't need the fanciest charger, just want the best value for $50 with 8 batteries.
    Any Suggestions?

  • i got the maha c9000 charger and it is worth it. when i checked the eneloop AA BATTERY, it only charged upto 900 mah when it should be around 1900mah, i was able to reset it and it eventually charged around 2000mah. you don't see that on regular chargers.

  • Seems like it's paypal only - is there another way to pay for the items?

  • Peeps might want to know that the cheap (but arguably as good) LSD's are back at HobbyKing: http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/78987

If you were trigger hesitant, this is your chance! but hurry as they seem to go quick.

  • Finally got it today
