  • Noticed targeted deals are gone on my app

    • Still there.. I got 5.99 small McChicken meal

      • +4

For the last week or so I have only seen the generic deals on my app (the $5.95 meal, $2 pies, $1 frozen drinks and 20% off >$40 order)

        • +2

Definitely there for all my 5 accounts

          • -7

@hippyhippy: phones only take 2 sims, so you carry 3 phones to manage 5 accounts ? …..

            • @garage sale: Maccas doesn't use phone numbers, uses email addresses.

Sims, you can switch Esims in and out easy enough.

            • +1

@garage sale: With most modern Android phones (and presumably iPhones too) you can store as many eSIMs as you like and switch between them in the eSIM manager.

            • @garage sale: Macca's use email login

              • @Drakesy: yeah, i don’t eat enough maccas to get to that level of offer optimisation and invest time switching accounts , and the app doesn’t always seem to work flawlessly ,

  • Thanks OP, you're the real MVP

  • +2

one use only or multiple uses for the week its active?

    • -7

Yep ^ what perfectlydark asked - Multiple use or one use? If it's one use it's pretty useless

    • One use last time they had the monthly offer. 20% off 24 nuggets deal will be pretty good.

    • +3

Unfortunately only one use per account

      • +4

thanks mate. ah well suppose i dont need that much maccas haha

        • +1

You're looking at things the wrong way. You just need more Maccas accounts.

  • +2

*Week 3 only available between 10:30am-4am daily

    I assume you mean 4PM?

    Also, what's MOP?

    • +2

If the store operates till 4am, then it's till 4am.

Re MOP - I can't figure the acronym, I only know it's for this part: "However, should you order and pay in-app, the final price will reduce to $5.90."

    • +6

      MOP.
Method of payment. In app purchase according to op.

    • probably 4am, when the day/night time menu (which mcchicken would be part of) changes to breakfast/allday (which mcchicken is not part of)

      • That’s right :) thanks

    • +7

Nope, 4am as that is when the regular menu changes to breakfast menu :)
MOP stands for Mobile Order & Pay, meaning you have to place and pay for the order in the app.

      • +7

Might help to put this in the description, I was very confused.

      • So how do you get a seniors deal within the 'pay in app' option ?

  • Wasnt this like $5 last time?
    Inflation to blame?

    • +19

      Inflation to blame?

What's the other option? Maccas improved the quality?

      • At least Maccas didnt increase the 24 nuggets for $12. I wanna try the new sauces wasabi mayo and bbq outback.

        • they already jacked it 20% from last years price

          • +1

@perfectlydark: Use the 20% off to bring it back down 😜

          • @perfectlydark: seen the price of beef in the last 2 years, crazy prices, and with growing population will only be getting more expensive not cheaper … and dairy products like sour cream and milk have gone up beyond inflation rates , some things also go up due to demand …. australia is a big country but limited farmland and water.

      • +12

McDonalds profiteering could be another option

      • Finally using organic sesame seeds!

    • Hasn't been $5 since I was going to tafe several years ago - you didn't need the app to buy it either

    • +10

I check supply chain pricing for maccas regularly and there’s been no real increase in beef and minor chicken increase since last year. Everything else (eg lettuce) is similar pricing too so definitely some sort of profiteering happening

      • +3

        Transportation, labour, power costs etc

      • have you gotten a payrise since last year?

      • +2

        No real increase?
        Are u a real employee?

      • Definitely power costs and other infra costs.

  • Thanks mate. Week one deal it's what I like. Cheers 👍

  • +5

    But I'm hungry now..

  • Looks good though why do they always do the McChicken?

    • +1

chicken is much cheaper than beef, less than 1/2 the price of beef, and due to global demand australia exports beef , australia doesn’t export chickens, and chickens can be used to lay eggs and at the end of their egg days it’s nuggets time, chicken is the cheapest meat we have.

      • +1

just an fyi egg laying chickens and McNugget chickens are two completely birds. McNugget chickens finish growing in 6-8 weeks and are turned into nuggies. Where as egg-laying chickens wont start to lay eggs until ~6months of age.

  • One week eating, one week rest, repeat

  • +4

Why do they say 'Extra Cheeseburger'. You just get 1 with it right?

    • +1

I will argue this with the 15 year old behind the counter.

I'll let you know how I go.

    • +4

A normal small Big Mac meal does not come with a cheeseburger, so that's how they say it.. Extra cheese burger added to a small big mac meal.

  • Spring sem begin in August.

  • great

  • Thanks OP

  • The raspberry and custard pies seem unavailable everywhere :(

    • +1

I had one tonight. Apple pie is better anyway

      • Thanks for sharing- had been meaning to try the new pie.

        • Worth trying once I suppose. Flavour is good but it’s all smooth throughout, whereas you get chunks of fruit in the apple pie, so texturally it’s superior and imo this is important.

  • The sad thing is I would rather use the kiosk with a code than get a cheaper price ordering through the app. The app is awful. I can understand why they switched to email login but that's also a PITA for multiple accounts (even legitimately for partners/children etc)

  • Has anyone tried to checkout the "20% in-app only" deal, then adding Family/Dinner Boxes at the window successfully applied?

    • 20% in app only means payment by the app….if you can't add it in the app, it won't work

      • ..but they don't deduct payment until confirmed in person, for drive-thru orders /

  • +1

% off every second week feels like they couldn't be bothered making more than 2 meal deals. I mean they could have done Quarter Pounder one week and Nuggets the other.

    • +1

i would love an extra meal deal, though having heaps of 20% off codes means i give it to random people at kiosks to get free points on all my accounts (free points 2023 hack)

      • Haha so you just randomly offer to whoever is at the kiosk?

        • hey its free points, win win - just frame it in a way thats like hey i wont use this 20% off code, would you like me to add it to your order for you? ;))) works 85% of the time

          • @quac: Does it get awkward when the other party declines?

            • @Craze: i wouldnt say so, i play it cool and just assume they want to use their own points instead

  • +2

Rarely does Fillet of Fish or Angus range ever get promoted.

    • +2

      the best burgers

    • +1

The Angus range has noticeably degraded from Gourmet Creations days.

      • +1

This. It's so different I've stopped getting it altogether.

      • yeah the quality of their angus beef is awful these days, it's just bad.

  • Big Mac and Cheeseburger deal is perfect for my doggos birthday 😂
Especially since I have to remove most of the ingredients for his diet aha

Anyone else noticing Bonus points just not being awarded correctly recently?

I've had to follow up nearly every bonus offer and go thru the hassle of supplying them screen shots/receipts etc and still missing over 4500 points from recent offers that just haven't been awarded.

    • +2

Yes, I never receive the bonus points from those offers.

    • I didn't receive bonus points today for a qualifying spend. Not sure if it's because I had one of the My Deals in my purchase.

      • it seems you don't get bonus points on app deals (even though this isn't specifically mentioned anywhere as a condition)

all they say is 'qualifying spend' with no clarification, obviously the app deals do not qualify :(

        • +1

I always get them on app deals, does fail from time to time but get added when chased up.

        • +1

I also get points on app deal, its all I ever get LOL

        • I'm getting all bonus points now, including on app deals. They've had some good offers lately. Sometimes you have to add it to the rewards code first so you can double up with getting both normal and bonus points.

There was only one time I didn't get the bonus points, looks like it was a temporary bug in the app.

protip: $5 large latte (app) + cheese ham and tomato sandwich ($4)

    my go to these days

  • As David Attenborough says "It's feeding frenzy"!!

  • Mine said $5.90

    • app pricing as above. i also had the same deal listed twice in my app. wonder if i can get it again tomorrow…

      • After I used the $5.90 today, I have the $6.90 one now.

        • oh, yeah that makes sense i guess, same as just ordering in store

  • +1

What do you eat first? The Big Mac or the cheeseburger?

    • -2

      Yes

    • if the cheeseburger is inside the Big Mac (where it should be), how do you even figure that out?

  • +2

I rest my chin in my hand to assume a thinking position as I prepare to consider buying McDonalds for lunch. My hand presses heavily on the painful pimple I have, probably from eating all this junk food. I do not buy the McDonalds for lunch.

    Good deal anyways, thanks OP.

2023 longlist for Man Booker was just announced, take a look.

      You're welcome 🙇‍♂️
