Been waiting months for this to show up again at Bunnings, today was my lucky day. Was told by staff member that deal runs out when all sold. Includes:

  • DCF815 Impact Driver,
  • DCD710 Drill Driver,
  • Bonus LED light
  • 2 x 1.3Ah batteries (DCB120-XE),
  • Charger (DCB100-XE)
  • Kit bag

Used these tools at my last job, no complaints. My first post, hope someone finds this useful.

forgot to add the light in title, includes bonus LED light, which gives my cree torch a run for it's money.

    • look at how big that thing is!!

    • Nice find mate, just checked two WA stores they haven't heard of the deal, so i think it may be Melbourne only, correct me if i am wrong, might want to add that to your title.

  • Pretty good price, but only 10.8V.

What's the normal price for this set?

    • +3

This is the normal price. Bunnings never go on sale.

      • +1

Not really correct, they do have specials once they are forced to price match, as well as clearances. For example the Ozito set that a few people got was priced at $179 on their website, but on special for $99 in store.

The one OP posted is a different model number to this one.. DCK311S2-XE vs DCK211S2-XE….

What's the difference apart from the obvious..?

      • It also costs $126 more, I don't see why you'd want it?

    • 10.8V Dewalt packs more torque than an 18V Ozito.

      • thats not hard, i glued 3 butterfly's to a 13mm drill bit and it still had more torque than ozito :D

      • anything packs more than ozito lol

I've got this kit and it's fantastic. Don't let the 10.8V put you off these are plenty powerful enough.

    • Yep, a lot of less informed folks don't realise that 10.8v Li-Ion performance =/= 10.8v NiCd or NiMH output.

    My first post

I kinda wish that the OzBargain powers-that-be would add an icon next to names to notify us of that.. just to save new posters from having to say it.

    Oh wait…

    • +5

the problem is that when posting first posters are not told about the icon - its only visible after you have posted.

I think (might be wrong) that this is just a promotional set, as in, they don't usually sell this as a kit. So this price would be the 'normal' price, however it will only last as long as the stock does, because they won't be able to order any more. This is the way Bunning's loves to operate, as it means the competition doesn't usually have the exact same product, hence no price matching worries.

    • Oops, that was meant as a reply to skysky's comment above.

  • i have seen the offer yesterday at local bunnings. bloody good deal.
i own aldi brand 10.8v drill with li-on batteries and it is excellent drill with plenty of drilling power so this must be even better
yeah dont be foolled by 10.8 v battery as it is quite good balance btw weight and power.

  • Best price elsewhere in oz for this is $220 plus p&h and the closest competition was a similar makita for $190 plus p&h. In the US they are sold as 12v due to the loose laws that they have, for example the dewalt 20v in the US is sold as 18v everywhere else in the world. Anyway, it's a very powerfull drill and impact driver, torch is a nice extra too and well worth $200. The 18v version is $329 and they have a Ryobi drill driver 18v pack for $249 that I highly recommend for the small price difference too.

The 10v stuff is physically smaller and is awesome for ladies (saw one on the weekend and it was the size of these tools that sold her on it) and for anyone that does a lot of shoulder or higher work as the bigger stuff all weights more and for an installer doing to all day every ounce counts! Dewalt have a range of skin, tool only addons, like a jigsaw ect but to be honest most are too small to be useful to anyone but model makers. None of these are the new brushless versions, Malwaukee have launched their 12v FUEL brushless drill and impact driver but it's as expensive as its bigger brother! I can't say that it's worth the wait or the extra they will charge in the 10v(12v) tools as they are not aimed at worksites but for the home DYI user.

FYI, Malwaukee, dewalt and ryobi are all owned by the same company… Although Ryobi use the older tech, pistol battery, lower V batts and BRUSH motors they are awesome tools for the price, in the 18v you can buy a bag of goodies for $339!

  • good price
as above, best price elsewhere is $220+ (eg. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Dewalt-10-8V-Cordless-2pcs-Combo-…)

very nice drill and impact driver and more powerful than the cheapie 18V (Ozito, Aldi etc)

  • Good price. I have the 18V Dewalt and it has never missed a beat. Great for professionsal and home use.

  • FYI - Bunning Melville in Perth do not know anything about the promotion, not sure if its a nation wide promotion.

Will check o'connor later and let everyone know

    • FYI - Perth Branches have got this item in order, but no ETA on when they are coming in, there is some stock in harrisdale and mindary, but not sure if they are the promo stock.

  • good deal, quality items, good for automotive work or house work! or even using it in the trade!!

  • I'm looking at getting an air powered impact driver, but this deal looks good. Will I quickly reach limits with this impact driver for automotive work, especially on my 4wd?

In SA, Mile End and Woodville have stock.
At Mile End it was on the shelf but had no price tag.

Bunnings stock code is 6260231 for those who want to chase down stock.
    Comes with 3 years warranty.

    • Smithfield, Parafield, Kilburn do not have stock. Woodville has two left.

  • The 10.x volt worries me.

Makita 10.8V 3PC Drill & Impact Driver LXT Combo Kit AU$199.00 from

    http://www.sydneytools.com.au/shopexd.asp?id=13354&bc=no

This is awesome value, inc a aluminium case with accessories

And as to the question as to how these things behave compared to the 18v bigger brother i would say that if your a home DIY then these are awesome, especially with the LiIon batteries. Often performing like last gen NiCad 18v often. But if your building a house, or use them for roofing or a living outside then go 18v but for everyone else i highly recommend these!!!

  • I was in Bunnings at West Gosford today and they had about 8 of these stacked up for $199 if people are still looking.

I nearly bought one but after lots of looking around on the net and in store, i decided to go the 18v option.
Considering you can't start new ozbargains on Price Matching, I'll just chuck it in here in case people are drawn to the DeWalt brand and find this thread.

Similar bundle without the light, but it's 18v and also the drill is a hammer/drill.

Price match at Bunnings got me $328.50
    Saweeeet :p
