    Hire a maid.

    • +2

See how many weeks you'll get a maid to vac and mop your floors 3 times a week for the same price…

  • 2k ? No Thankyou . Happy with my 120$ hand held xiomi vac

    • And your mop?

  • That's crazy money.

  • -1

It does sound like crazy money but feedback on all previous posts have been good. If you look at one time cost that saves you time and money for future, I think it is ok.

JB Hi Fi deal was $1799 in May.

When has the S8 Pro Ultra ever gotten to $1799? I thought the historical low was $2000ish at Costco recently

Did you say S7 MaxV Ultra? No.
Did you say any specific model? No.

          • @tempestswitch: Also the reason it was $1799 is that JB HiFi wanted to clear them out — I enquired their HQ and they told me they are no longer stocking the S7 MaxV Ultra.

Thankfully I picked up an “ex-demo unit” from JB post sale (actually was still in box) that one store had sitting around not available for sale.

I’d agree with you & others — the comparison to the latest S8 Pro Ultra at same price is not particularly fair.

For me it seems like it’d be hard to justify the $2000 jump over the Roborock s5 we got for around $500 that does a great job vacuuming, but needs us to manually empty the bin. Is it significantly better at cleaning than a cheaper model or is the emptying of the bin the real benefit and reason for the price jump here?

Feels like our s5 would do the 98% still, and I just need to dump the bin a bit more often which takes about 20 seconds.

      • S5 max for 500 was worth every dollar. Use it to vacuum and mop almost daily

Exact same model (different name but same functionalities) in Hong Kong or China is half price

Useful tip if your house is there

      • From where? Do you mind linking?

      • Did you get an S8 pro ultra at that price? Can you share the link please?

      • Link pls

    • What is it called?

  • If I don't really need the mop, should I get the Q7 Max+ that is currently $999 at JB?

    • Yes - have this model - excellent for hard floors however for carpets doesnt lift mop.

      • yep I've heard that, but can live with it since I won't be using the mop!

    Taking the absolute piss.
Emptying a dustbin and refilling water is a 30 second job that doesn't warrant the $1500 price tag for the privilege.

    • Agree, you can buy a A>B beater car for that money. Insanity.

So i would need to refill a small tank 3 times for it to complete a mop. Not only that i would need to clean the mop pad.
This dock allows me to turn it on and leave the house.
Mop function is what you're paying for with the dock. You dont have the dock you dont have mopping because its too much stuffing around with out it.

  • I wish i had the money to buy this. Really want one of these.

  • So which Roborock model has vac and mop but no automatic emptying a dustbin and refilling water. I can do later functions manually.

Crazy isnt it, yeah there are new features but as you pointed out the bulk of it was already available at $310. Must be some huge R&D costs to recover.

    • Agreed. Mines still going, and still does a pretty good job. I can't fathom spending that much bank on a robo vac.

We are getting ripped off in Australia….

S8 ultra pro is regularly on $1,400 SGD in Singapore, even with 10% weaker currency, it’s 1,550 AUD.

While here we are paying $1k more.

    Absolutely ridiculous

  • Have one. The dual rollers don't make a difference with anti hair tangle. Still have to clean the rollers after a few cleans to get rid of tangled hair on the sides.
